LeChuck Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Oh of course. I just think we might have had a lucky break if Wolves appoint Smith because he's not very good...but admittedly better than Kean.

Audax Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 I got curious about it, sounds like Smith turned down the Wolves... new face every day...they must not be offering a contract that is inviting. http://www.google.com/hostednews/ukpress/article/ALeqM5hw_Iy-H4j-IxagCluxOd-74QeiUA?docId=N0711961330000318956A Who knows? Paul Ince might be considered now as they move on to the next candidates. Roy Keane was even mentioned in stories but I don't know if he's been actually involved in interviews. Wolves might give some manager who has had hard luck a chance.

That's four that have turned them down. I've got a feeling they'll go back to Curbishley with a better contract offer. Whatever they are proposing must be really unattractive.
Audax Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 I never rule out that a club could be feigning chaos, they feign injuries, i.e. "Will X play?", HIGHLY UNLIKELY I know but the next match is less than 48 hours away. Maybe not, so I'm sure many people know better than myself but Terry Connor is the caretaker right now. http://www.soccerway.com/news/2012/February/23/wolves-caretaker-calls-for-patience/ (also wanted to apologise, believe I got my facts wrong, Bruce managed Wigan, silly me, said another club, my error).
LeChuck Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Wolves appoint Terry Connor until end of the season Well that's Wolves guaranteed to take one of the relegation spots then. Steve Kean might even be able to say he's not the worst manager in the Premier League... Just reading some of the Wolves fans' reactions. They are livid.
Mattyblue Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Just as I predicted... yet, I didn't put any dosh on it
chromesub Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 yup Wolves fans are bugged http://www.molineuxmix.co.uk/vb/showthread.php?t=69221 and they've got a poll going on whether they should renew their season tickets
BuckyRover Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 It proves you don't have to be thousands of miles away in India to do stupid things as a football club owner.
Gally Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Next few games will be massive for Wolves, if they get past the game against us without getting a win I can only see them sinking without a trace
Blue n White Rover Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Does that mean Steve Kean is no longer the worst manager in the league?
broadsword Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Does that mean Steve Kean is no longer the worst manager in the league? He'll take the positives from that and crack on.
davulsukur Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Does that mean Steve Kean is no longer the worst manager in the league? No, Terry Conner is the best manager in the league (from our point of view)Whilst Steeve is here, he will always be the worst.
Mercer Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Today, the appointment of Connor and the sale of Samba means one of Wigan, Bolton & QPR will now join Wolves & Rovers in next season's Championship.
chaddyrovers Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Today, the appointment of Connor and the sale of Samba means one of Wigan, Bolton & QPR will now join Wolves & Rovers in next season's Championship. very negative again. instead of calling the team and thinking we going down, why don't you cheer your Club on and get behind the team/players. I will be doing that tomorrow and every other match this season!!!
Amo Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 very negative again. instead of calling the team and thinking we going down, why don't you cheer your Club on and get behind the team/players. I will be doing that tomorrow and every other match this season!!! Are the two mutually exclusive?
Waggy76 Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Today, the appointment of Connor and the sale of Samba means one of Wigan, Bolton & QPR will now join Wolves & Rovers in next season's Championship. I wouldn't go that far especially with the Connor bit (he may just surprise), but I have to agree with the Samba comment ....
Mercer Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 very negative again. instead of calling the team and thinking we going down, why don't you cheer your Club on and get behind the team/players. I will be doing that tomorrow and every other match this season!!! Evening Chaddy, well in 16 months we've lost one of the shrewdest managers in the game, a whole host of excellent business operators, about 5,000 season ticket holders, a shirt sponsor, much commercial support, some excellent and talented footballers, £19million pounds in 2010/11, our credibility in the game and our finances are now fecked. We've gained...... struggling to think of anything. Like many, the club as I knew it for 50 years or so has died. Like many, my feeling and allegiance for the club are fading. Apart from all that Chaddy, everything with Rovers is wonderful !!! There will always be one man and his dog watching footie at Pleasington and that will probably be you !!!
alexanders Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Samba didnt play against Fulham or QPR. We won.
John Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Terry Connor seems to have difficult speaking, communication could be difficult?
youandwhosearmy Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 What odd Kean gets sacked and they replace him with keans asistant
Parsonblue Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 very negative again. instead of calling the team and thinking we going down, why don't you cheer your Club on and get behind the team/players. I will be doing that tomorrow and every other match this season!!! I did that at the Emirates the other week Chaddy, and that didn't turn out so well. To believe that this club will be relegated under Venky's is not being negative, simply realistic. There are five clubs involved and three will go down and on what has gone on so far this season there is a very good chance that the sale of Samba might very well be the thing that tips us over the edge. We all hope not but being realistic the chances of survival are not great having already lost to Bolton and Wolves at Ewood.

USABlue Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 It proves you don't have to be thousands of miles away in India to do stupid things as a football club owner. I can only hope it proves to be a stupid move, let's pray he does not turn out to be a messiah that Mick was holding back. More media attention than I can remember, albeit bad press.
superniko Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 Just thought I would add a response to people thinking QPR are safe due to Hughesy and some of their signings (who I think are average for the wages received). I saw this on the Wolves board..... 31st March - Arsenal (H) 8th April - Man United (a) 11th April - Swansea (h) 14th April - West Brom (a) 21st April- Tottenham (h) 29th April - Chelsea (a) 5th May - Stoke (h) 13th May - Man City (a) QPR's last fixtures, very tough run-in. In my opinion they need points soon, if they're in the bottom 3 come the end of March they could well be doomed. In the same time line we have.... United (H) West Brom (A) Liverpool (H) Swansea (A) Norwich (H) Spurs (A) Wigan (H) Chelsea (A) I see 2 winnable away games and 2 write-off away games and a few winnable home games too. Nether the less the key games are Villa, Wolves and Bolton which are coming up. Although I doubt Super Steve is even targetting these games as there is no chance of our relegation
