chaddyrovers Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Looked at the remaining 12 fixtures for each of the bottom five and I think Rovers will be safe by just 1 point. My prediction: 16 Bolton 36 17 Rovers 34 18 Wolves 33 19 & 20 QPR & Wigan 32 I agree with Wigan and Wolves will go but IMO Bolton will go aswell. QPR will just stay up on the last day of the season. Rovers will stay up with a Win against Wigan at the last home game. Aston Villa With 29 points already on the board, don't see too many difficulties. Alot of Villa fans reckon they will go down. alot of tough games ahead against top 10 sides

philipl Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 How the heck anyone can tip Rovers to stay up when we have lost at home to Wolves and Bolton is beyond me.
PAFELL Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 How the heck anyone can tip Rovers to stay up when we have lost at home to Wolves and Bolton is beyond me. Strange things can happen. Rovers got a win at Old Trafford and a draw at Anfield. Strange results in a strange season.
Exiled in Toronto Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 How the heck anyone can tip Rovers to stay up when we have lost at home to Wolves and Bolton is beyond me. Because, by definition since they won 3 points off us and are not 3 points ahead of us, we have done better than them in the other 24 games against everyone else.
thenodrog Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 One club will always find a run of good form based on togetherness and spirit. Usually one with a new manager. I can't see us qualifying for that effect after the submission on Saturday. People will say Man City were awesome on the day but whenever plaudits like that are strewn around I always take the state and quality of the opposition into account before that of the winners. We might not have been expected to win but that surely is no excuse for rolling over as we did.
Stuart Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Because, by definition since they won 3 points off us and are not 3 points ahead of us, we have done better than them in the other 24 games against everyone else. Little bit skewed logic that EiT. I can see your argument but it would only really hold water if we had all played the same teams. The fact they both beat Rovers at Ewood gives them the edge. Let's see where we are in relation to each other come May.

That might be a slightly more meaningful comparision.
Lurid Coat Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Looked at the remaining 12 fixtures for each of the bottom five and I think Rovers will be safe by just 1 point. My prediction: 16 Bolton 36 17 Rovers 34 18 Wolves 33 19 & 20 QPR & Wigan 32 I admire your optimism (never thought I'd say that to you!), but I can't for the life of me see us getting more than 11 points from the remaining matches. Rovers, Wolves and Wigan to go down for me, I'm afraid
Mercer Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 In a 'normal' PL season, I'd say we were doomed but there are 5 very poor sides down there who seem to keep shooting themselves in the foot, one way or another. At one time. 40 points was seen as the 'Holy Grail' but I'm convinced 35 points will do the trick and we will get them providing 'Yak' stays fit.
BiggusLaddus Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Difficult one to guess. There's usually one or two teams that are cut adrift from the rest, giving everybody else a few more points, so this year's final points target may well be slightly lower. It seems pretty certain that three from the bottom five will go down and it could be any three. You'd expect one to go on a run and get out of trouble and I think QPR are still probably favourites to do it.
Hughesy Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 The next 2 games will have a big say in our outcome. Both against bottom 6 clubs with minimum 4pts needed and more importantly not handing 3 points to a rival, also Bolton face QPR next week. After the next 2 games we have another 6 pointer where as QPR start a very hard run
nellybc Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 You'd expect one to go on a run and get out of trouble and I think QPR are still probably favourites to do it. I know we still have a couple of the big teams to play but qpr's fixtures seem a lot tougher than ours Rovers Wigan Wolves QPR Bolton Villa H Swansea H Fulham A Everton H Man City A Wolves A Norwich A Rovers H Bolton H QPR A Sunderland H West Brom H Man Utd A Liverpool H Villa A Bolton A Liverpool A Norwich A Sunderland A Rovers H Man Utd H Stoke H Bolton H Arsenal H Wolves A WBA A Chelsea A Stoke A Man Utd A Fulham H Liverpool H Man Utd H Arsenal H Swansea H Newcastle A Swansea A Arsenal A Sunderland A West Brom A Spurs H Norwich H Fulham A Man City H Spurs H Swansea H Spurs A Newcastle H Swansea A Chelsea A Sunderland A Wigan H Rovers A Everton H Stoke H West Brom H and there was me hoping that would work!!
rigger Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Maximum 75 days left of Premiership football for Rovers now. Thats almost two seasons
Steve Moss Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 16th Rovers 17th QPR 18th Bolton 19th Wigan 20th Wolves And Kean and Venkys to celebrate victory, as 16th is close enough to top ten and a cup for them to consider their promise fulfilled. And I'll be grateful enough that we survived to not sneer too loudly.
SharrockDownSouth Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Quick go at the predictor, just doing the Rovers results gives a total of 31 points... Villa(H) Draw Wolves(A) Loss Sunderland(H) Loss Bolton(A) Draw ManU(H) Loss WestBrom(A) Draw L'pool(H) Draw Swansea(A) Loss Norwich(H) Win Spurs(A) Loss Wigan(H) Win Chelsea(A) Loss
KyleBRFC Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Had a go on the predictor also heres the bottom end of the table ive got... ------Team-----------GD----PTS 14 West Brom -12 39 15 Swansea -17 35 16 QPR -23 34 17 Blackburn -29 33 --------------------------------- 18 Wolves -28 31 19 Bolton -39 26 20 Wigan -43 24 Now teams fixtures and my predtions. (Bottom 5, QPR, Us, Wolves, Wigan and Bolton) Blackburn: Villa (H) Draw Wolves (A) Draw Sunderland (A) Loss Bolton (A) Win Man Utd (H) Loss West Brom (A) Loss Liverpool (H) Loss Norwich (H) Win Tottenham (A) Loss Wigan (H) Win Chelsea (A) Loss QPR: Everton (H) Win Bolton (A) Draw Liverpool (H) Loss Sunderland (A) Loss Arsenal (H) Draw Man Utd (A) Loss Swansea (H) Win West Brom (A) Draw Tottenham (H) Draw Chelsea (A) Loss Stoke (H) Win Man City (A) Loss Wolves: Fulham (A) Loss Blackburn (H) Draw Man Utd (A) Loss Norwich (A) Loss Bolton (H) Win Stoke (A) Loss Arsenal (H) Loss Sunderland (A) Loss Man City (H) Loss Swansea (A) Draw Everton (H) Draw Wigan (A) Win Bolton Man City (A) Loss QPR (H) Draw Aston Villa (A) Loss Blackburn (H) Loss Wolves (A) Loss Fulham (H) Draw Newcastle (A) Loss Tottenham (H) Loss Swansea (H) Win Sunderland (A) Loss West Brom (H) Draw Stoke (A) Loss Wigan Swansea (H) Draw Norwich (A) Loss West Brom (H) Draw Liverpool (A) Loss Stoke (H) Draw Chelsea (A) Loss Man Utd (H) Loss Arsenal (A) Loss Fulham (A) Loss Newcastle (H) Draw Blackburn (A) Loss Wolves (H) Loss Now thats what I think will happen it will definitaly be between us and Wolves for the 3rd relegation spot and it really could go either way and you never know what your going to get with us, games with should get something from we usually balls up but its sure to be a very very nervous last day as I think it will go to the wire.
LeChuck Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 You honestly think Bolton and Wigan will only win one game between them for the reason of the season? Those predictor things are useless, anything can happen in one game. It's much more logical to look at the games in block of four/five.
Ozz Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Thats almost two seasons Real time days!! Free Travel AND pie for those going to Wolves away. Venkys, they just keep on giving.
broadsword Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Pie? Bloody hell. Who cares about frigging pies. Desultory.

I'm not sure a one-off game last August is a great predictor as to how we and Wolves will each do over the remaining 13 games. We're all as bad as each other; luck, injuries etc will play a huge part I reckon
winstonsmith Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Real time days!! Free Travel AND pie for those going to Wolves away. Venkys, they just keep on giving. What is it with Venky's and eating pies in Wolverhampton ?
Stuart Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Pie? Bloody hell. Who cares about frigging pies. Desultory. Free travel is a good offer though. Too little and too late spring to mind, however. What a shame it isn't a one way ticket to India for Kean !
MarkBRFC Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 That predictor thing is a bugger. Had us, Wigan & Bolton going down. We got 31 points, had two wins, 4 draws and 6 defeats from our last 6 games. QPR stayed up on 32. Like someone else said though its a load of crap really, impossible to predict. I can't see any more than 35 points being needed this season though.
