imy9 Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Hodgson had lost the plot (and the dressing room) completely by the time he was sacked. The team was in freefall and he appeared to have no idea how to turn it round. An average manager who made his name abroad and has never lived up his reputation here. Fulham? West Brom? Two excellent jobs here in England. Did an excellent job at Inter too- big Serie a team as well getting Swizzerland to Euro 96 after 30 odd years of tryin for a major tournament? Not a top manager but certainly not an average one either IMO.

Backroom Tom Posted March 10, 2012 Backroom Posted March 10, 2012 I think if either team lose this lunchtime game it will prove fatal for them in terms of momentum more than anything considering their recent results
rovers11 Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 I think if either team lose this lunchtime game it will prove fatal for them in terms of momentum more than anything considering their recent results Bolton win would be better than a QPR one but a draw would be perfect.
rovers11 Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 And the drama begins. QPR's effort was miles over the line but not given.
deryck guyler's spoon Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 And the drama begins. QPR's effort was miles over the line but not given. Yep, in by a backyard. B ugger, Bolton one up. We need QPR to grab a point and to be fair Bolton look fragile.
Backroom Tom Posted March 10, 2012 Backroom Posted March 10, 2012 We can't do anything about other games If we do what we need to today then any result in this game is positive for us. Get beat and any result here is negative

Get beat and any result here is negative I'm hoping for a draw on the basis that I think we'll get beat. QPR look the better of two mediocre outfits, certainly a better side than us even given our recent win.
deryck guyler's spoon Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 1-1 now. Stay like this? Hope so but I'd back QPR at this point. Bolton almost as poor as us defensively.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 If QPR don't get anything in the game against Bolton then they will def get sucked into bottom 3 soon and will stay there. They gotta play L'pool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Man Utd, Man City and Spurs. QPR have been unlucky. Goal not given despite being over the line and also a blatant penalty turned down in the dying minutes.
Audax Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Bolton 2-1: how about that.... like someone said, these wins seem worth more than 3, but all clubs have struggled so much.... in the end, a club really needs to break from the pack, 4, probably 5 points up on the others. People may have wanted a draw but I think the deserving team won.
Mr C Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 That game summed up the vastly overrated Premier League. Two poor teams and three shocking officials!
superniko Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 QPR needed a result with their run-in. Think themselves and Wigan are gonners. Down to ourselves, Wolves and Bolton for the final place. Shows how important today and Bolton away is!!
superniko Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 If we hold on to this result (I know we need a rare clean sheet) it could be huuuuge. As it stand Rovers 25 Bolton 23 Qpr 22 Wolves 22 Wigan 20 3 points clear with 2 winnable games! Not to mention Wolves have utd next and QPR have the scousers. Come lads get a win!!!!
Mercer Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Looked at the remaining 12 fixtures for each of the bottom five and I think Rovers will be safe by just 1 point. My prediction: 16 Bolton 36 17 Rovers 34 18 Wolves 33 19 & 20 QPR & Wigan 32 Don't think I'll be too wrong with what I predicted about a fortnight ago though I can't see Wolves getting anywhere near 33 points after their performance today - they'll end-up with wooden spoon.
Backroom Tom Posted March 10, 2012 Backroom Posted March 10, 2012 We play Sunderland next week before QPR play Liverpool, a win there for us gives us some breathing room and puts the pressure on teams below us. Knowing this season though Wolves will beat United
Sparky Marky Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Wolves have utd next and QPR have the scousers. The scousers aren't what they used to be....mediocre at best right now.
Mattyblue Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Leaving Fulham, pitching up at QPR. Has Mark lost his touch?
Audax Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 I've always been for goal line technology in the game, so QPR got robbed and I'm sorry but that demonstrates exactly why that even IF a club work things out, deserve to stay up, some sort of unseen event can come in to sink them. Actually, I think Bolton are a bit exciting to watch, try to attack but lack having enough quality players to make it work. Anyway, there is no reason to rest on laurels, Rovers need to totally break away from the bottom 5 clubs, 25 points actually looks good. I would not place much blame on Hughes, maybe a tiny bit. A manager is asking for it when they take over and he took over when? Mid January or something like that and QPR had been, well, equal to the other 4 of the last 5. Birmingham did not look to be going down that much last year but nosedived totally at the end of the season.
47er Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 We could have put the pressure on Villa with our result today. They were outrageously lucky to beat Fulham.

I can recognise now from looking at the table and Wolves at 22 points, points for them have been very few and far between, that is so... http://www.soccerway.com/national/england/premier-league/2011-2012/regular-season/ Ouch, and Wigan at 20 bring up the rear, still, 25 for the Rovers is positive, something to build on. I was trying to multiquote Mercerman, for some reason it did not come out.
