John Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 Reckon Dann and Samba will be quite imposing at the back for us, don't think we will lose - Fulham have started the season poor as well.
OZTHEMAN Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 With B.Ruiz having got his work permit on Wednesday how much of a role will he play?£10.6 million but no EPL experience and in 5 days bedding in with a new team could be difficult as with most foreign players they take their time to bed in? but we have our own problems.. Yes we have SD but is he all the hype? We have strikers who last season were playing in the championship and one in the SPL and most of us fans believe they are better than the one we have.. On paper we have a very young team if DDSK has the courage to start with DG and leave both JR and YAK on the bench.. my biggest worry for this game is our ex Rover Duff, he has pace and a lot of trickery for MS to handle.. Other than that we have a very decent team, shame we cant say that about our useless drink driving manager and his tactics which so far have been abysmal in the least!! His next excuse will be "This is the first game the boys have played together blah blah blah.." The Venkys may ask do they just twiddle their thumbs in training??
John Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 Pedersen, Dunn and Nelsen are doubtful for Sunday's match at Fulham through injuries. Internationals back unscathed, new signings Yakubu, Dann and Slew in squad
pick32 Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 Ruiz pulls wide left and with duff also playing on that flank i think Salgado is going to be picking up the soap. There team is pretty slow and i think we could also grab a couple on the counter. Im going with 2-2.
neophox Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 I hope we start with this team at Fulham: Robinson Givet, Dann, Samba, Olsson Vukcevic, Nzonzi, One of Petrovic/Dunn/Grella, Hoilett Formica, Yakubu or Goodwillie Bench: Vukcevic, Rochina, Roberts, Salgado, Nelsen, Pedersen, Bunn. Well its getting to get comepetition for places now. I predict a win for Rovers.
Lurid Coat Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 Preferred starting XI against Fulham: Robinson Salgado (due to a lack of better alternatives) - Dann - Samba - Olsson N'Zonzi - Petrovic Hoilett - Formica - Vukcevic Goodwillie
chris Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 I hope we start with this team at Fulham: Robinson Givet, Dann, Samba, Olsson Vukcevic, Nzonzi, One of Petrovic/Dunn/Grella, Hoilett Formica, Yakubu or Goodwillie Bench: Vukcevic, Rochina, Roberts, Salgado, Nelsen, Pedersen, Bunn. Well its getting to get comepetition for places now. I predict a win for Rovers. I think you might be on the money, I also really doubt Givet will be dropped not after keans comment "we have Givet back playing a well as ever". Be interesting if he can play right back otherwsie I think Olssen will lose his place. Be great seeing roberts and salgado out the team. Robinson Dann and Samba, solid.
John Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 Robinson Dann and Samba, solid. As Kean said, a solid unit - perhaps it is all coming together?
cesus Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 Robinson Salgado Dann Samba Givet N'Zonzi Grella Hoilett Formica Olsson Yakubu or Goodwillie I feel that is a very solid back line and for the first time in years a quite exciting, pacy attacking midfield. The biggest plus is its a team minus Dunn, Pedersen and Roberts. I don't know too much about our new midfield signings, so maybe Petrovic for Grella and Vukcevic for Olsson.
Mercer Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 I expect Kean to chose the following, though wouldn't be my line-up: Robbo / Salgado, Dann, Samba, Givet / Hoilett, Grella, Nzonzi, Olsson / Formica / Roberts Bench: Bunn, Nelsen, Vuc, Petro, Rochina, Yak, Goodwillie Wouldn't be surprised to see this end-up all square providing we don't concede early. Concede early and Fulham get their tails up, we could be looking down the barrel of a 3 or 4 goal hiding. Major worry - apart from 60 minutes v Celtic reserves this week, I think you will find that Dann has played no other matches this season, neither friendly nor competitive. Could be a tad rusty !!!
forumquizmaster Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 Regardless of our problems, Fulham are there for the taking. If we can get the first goal, their fans will get on their backs as they have had arguably a worse start than us. Easily beaten on two winnable away trips and held to a goalless draw by Villa at home. Sure it gets them a point but I don't think they have the excuse of injuries, appalling luck (in the Everton game) and a dopey manager that we have. I would expect Kean to play some of 'his' players now, after his comments, so the line up could be something like this: Robinson Salgado Dann Samba Givet Petrovic N'Zonzi Hoillet Formica Olssen Goodwillie Subs from: Rochina, Hanley, Ribiero, Vuckovic, Roberts, Yakubu, Grella
Neal Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 Robinson, Givet (RB), Dann, Samba, Olsson, Petrovic N'zonzi Hoilett Formica Vuckevic Yakubu Would like to see Goodie and Rochina come on as impact players to go for the win in the 2nd half. We need 3 points... Nothing less.
Hughesy Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 We are playing Fulham - not Chelsea....lets not worry about them and play too defensive....lets just go for them! Id go with as fresh a team as possible – resting the internationals/ injuries where possible, so for that reason id drop Olsson & Goodwillie to the bench. Nelsen & MGP to stay at home….and stick Dunny on the bench. ------------------Robbo---------------- Salgado----Dann---Samba©----Givet--- -------------------------------------------- Vukcevic---NZonzi--Petrovic--Hoilett --------------------Formica-------------------- -----------Yakubu-------------------- Subs: Bunn Hanley Grella Dunn Olsson Goodwillie Roberts Leaving no place on the bench for MGP, Rochina, Ribiero & Nelsen
joey_big_nose Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 I will be suprised if either the Yak or Vukcevic start. They need to bed in first. Goodwillie and Petrovic might get a crack though as they have played a bit off the bench and in the League cup game. I stand by my team in the other thread~:- --------------Robinson Dann----Samba----Givet-----Olsson ----------Nzonzi----Grella --Rochina----Formica----Hoilett ---------------Goodwillie Alternatively I would be okay with (although worried about Salgado):- -------------------Robinson Salgado----Samba----Dann-----Givet ---------------Nzonzi----Grella -----Hoilett-----Formica----Olsson ------------------Goodwillie What would ###### me off is Roberts or Dunn starting.
RibbleValleyRover Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 If we were playing Fulham after a Uefa Cup game I would fancy our chances of getting a point or three even with our coach in charge. Fulham should be fresh and with our shocking away record and inept manager I expect them to take the three points. 1-0 Fulham.
Rover & Out Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 The variation of starting line-ups and personnel already in this thread does indicate the number of options we have. I don't remember us having too many similar dilemmas last season (other than maybe which of our many donkeys to play up top).
BRFC95 Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 I'm going for a 2 - 0 win for this one. A comfortable one.
ABBEY Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 I'm going for a 2 - 0 win for this one. A comfortable one. Bloody hell your in the lush early! Or taking LSD!
glen9mullan Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 Gets harder each week to second guess the Manager as he can't play the same team twice, i expect rovers to go Robbo Salgado Dann Samba Givet Hoilett N'Zonzi Petrovic Olsson Yakubu Roberts Personally I'd like to see Formica start but being an away match, Kean will have get at least a point on his mind and will set up accordingly
Seggie Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 Gets harder each week to second guess the Manager as he can't play the same team twice, i expect rovers to go Robbo Salgado Dann Samba Givet Hoilett N'Zonzi Petrovic Olsson Yakubu Roberts Personally I'd like to see Formica start but being an away match, Kean will have get at least a point on his mind and will set up accordingly I see you are taking the common sense approach using Steve Kean logic and we won't see Roberts dropped and our form(ica) player on the bench. Realisticly looking at that team though if you took Roberts out and played Formica behind Yak you would have a decent side, one of the comforting things is that we have Vukenvic as well as Goodwillie to fit in.
Daremz Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 Robinson Salgado Nelsen Samba Givet N'Zonzi Petrovic Hoilett Formica Olsson Roberts That's how he'll play. Maybe a shock with Dann in the starting line-up if Nelsen is injured, but I fear the worst. Fulham to win 3-1 (2-0), with an excellent second half performance by substitutes Vukcevic, Yakubu and Goodwillie. Ruiz pulls wide left and with duff also playing on that flank i think Salgado is going to be picking up the soap. There team is pretty slow and i think we could also grab a couple on the counter. Im going with 2-2. Ruiz is a beast, fantastic player with an amazing through ball and so much class. He'll absolutely kill Salgado and Givet. Hopefully Samba eats him.
Mc Love Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 People are saying Fulham are for the taking - what the hell does that make rovers? We will be lucky to escape with our balls between our legs!
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 Rovers stand on the verge of setting a new record low for the club....losing its opening first 4 games of a season. Were are the goals coming from? 1-1 if we're lucky.
