trueblueroversiloveu
Merson calls Blackburn fan fatty Absolute plonker, how these pundits can comment on our behaviour and be oblivious to whats happened in 12 months is beyond a joke. If this had unfolded at West ham or another media "bumboy". Infact the press wouldn't have allowed it..

A cup of beans
the ignorant scumbag will use this result to show everyone that he is the greatest manager in football history. Awful man. agreed 100% apologies if already been spoken about, but i know kean has fallen out with nelsen, who is now fully fit... goodwillie.. and most surprisingly roberts. strange when you think of how strongly roberts has backed kean in the past - but he does have a salgado type trigger in his contract. im sure others will confirm this also! Devon Rover
get ready for all the PR milking Seeing Kean's smug face all week is the one downside of any "positive" result that the players earn. For me, he and the players deserve credit for today's result. However it is ONE result (and just one point as well, lets remember) and Kean's reign as a whole is still an abject failure. For anyone to alter their opinion of a manager based on 1 surprise (good) result achieved through a brave defensive performance, in the context of 40-odd matches garnering less than a point per game, would be foolish and my opinion has not changed today. Kean Out.

FourLaneBlue
The problem is the majority of 'football experts' such as Merson, are not even aware of our record under Kean and Venkys. For once Stelling redressed the balance and put Merson in his place Merson knows full well for the record under Kean is. It's just that he shares the same agency as him. So, he slags off the fans. Everything we are getting from the media has been organised. Our own club - and it's "advisor" - is waging a media war against it's own fans! Devon Rover
Kean deserves no credit for today. I know where you are coming from and I think this team will do far better with a 'real manager' but, along with the stick I give the manager for the bad results, I think he deserves a degree of credit when a decent result is achieved. I just think it works both ways. But more of the credit today sounds as though it should go to the inexperienced players who came in and made the most of their chance- brilliant by them. How does it work both ways? 7 wins in 38 games and you think he deserves praise for bumming the odd result? It's the law of averages.

It's the law of averages. No mate, I just mean that my view will always be that the guy in charge, however much I dislike him and/or think he should be out on his arse, should be accountable for results. I'm not going to praise him for getting a result but I am going to let the playing and management staff together have a bit of credit for today's result. My overall view of Kean has not changed. I might be being too kind and sense you will disagree with me. Perhaps I've just had too much Christmas spirit(s)?!

Being anti-Kean, if this is true then it helps his hand in that all three players mentioned offer nothing at all to the team. They can all go as we wouldnt miss any of them. Stuart
Being anti-Kean, if this is true then it helps his hand in that all three players mentioned offer nothing at all to the team. They can all go as we wouldnt miss any of them. If it is true then you and Kean deserve each other. Considering our defensive issues, we can't afford Ryan Nelsen to be on the bench. How many senior player can we afford Kean to fall out with - and are they all in the wrong. His lack of man management skills were illustrated perfectly over the Diouf situation. So it makes it very believable. We need one or more of the sidelined, fit, senior players to speak up. If anything takes the gloss of a draw at Anfield, it'd not fans, it's Kean-zero and tales about him.

Backroom DE. Posted December 26, 2011 Backroom Share Posted December 26, 2011 It's been nearly 2 seasons I believe since we kept a clean sheet away from home and now we can't even keep a clean sheet at home, so we're screwed both ways. Wonder where the Steve Kean Christmas Media Tour will start after this momentous result? Sky Sports News maybe.
John
I just love hearing that line that he has the backing of the players - almost as much as hearing he has the backing of the (incompetent & thick) owners.
