Rovermatt
Disagree with that blog post. The personal aspect of the antipathy towards Kean has developed in the face of his bare-faced lies, inability to accept responsibility and the belligerent, smug attitude towards fans who were initially disgusted at his record. I don't wish the guy dead, nor do I wish to see violence befall him. I do however genuinely dislike him and want him as far from the club as possible with all due expediency. Steve Moss
Marple Leaf puts everything into context I disagree with this post. Gary Speed was by all accounts, supported by his record, a top player, a rising manager, and an all around decent human being. Steve Kean fails on all three counts. Sure; Kean is human and I don't want him tortured to death. But I desperately want him out of the club and someone like Gary Speed in instead. And if well reasoned civil argument, or taunts, ridicule and other assorted manner of expressing an opinion, is necessary to get Kean out, I'm all for it. Disagree with that blog post. From all accounts, Speed was an honorable man. On a near weekly basis, Kean proves himself not.
jim mk2
Marple Leaf puts everything into context Marple Leaf is wrong to link Kean with Gary Speed. Yes, Steve Kean is human and no doubt has feelings but any normal human being failing in his job to the extent of our manager would have tendered his resignation by now. Kean also gives every appearance of not being normal by being in complete denial of our plight and his role in our predicament. I cannot recall any football manager who has committed suicide after being hounded out of a job. Most of them get over their sorrow by banking a big redundancy cheque and moving on to the next job, and Steve Kean presumably will be no different. My jaundiced view is this - it is very sad about Gary Speed but (Please don't use that word again) Steve Kean.

CrazyIvan
Anyone threatening to kill Kean is idiotic at best but linking anything about Kean to Speed is, in my view, wholly disrespectful to Gary Speed and his family. The contrast between the two men could not be more clear. Yes, Kean is trying to do a job in a very difficult environment but take it back to the Liverpool game just after Kean took over and look where we are now. That is Kean's doing (and Venky's of course). Gary Speed was a model professional and (from all accounts) a really nice bloke and it is a massive shame and a complete shock to see what's happened to him and what could have brought about such a situation. Kean is a poor, poor manager and is getting abuse because of his own actions. The contrast could not be clearer.
Mercer
There is a reason as to why Steve Kean is, IMO, despised by so many and much of it is down to his own principles and behaviour. For this man, I have no sympathy.
Pedro
Awful comparison. One is a manager and former model pro who's shocking and untimely death has shocked pretty much every football fan. The other is someone who has apparently bargained himself a job for which he is clearly not qualified, alienated a portion of his own team's supporters through engaging in pettiness, doesn't produce the results for which his role is dependant on (yet pockets a pay rise for it!) and who values his own ego and blind belief above that of what is the greater good of the team/club. I certainly don't wish death or harm upon Steve Kean but I think that part and parcel of his very well paid role should be to grow a thick skin and take the flak when you are obviously failing and to know when to walk away. Emge
Marple Leaf puts everything into context Thats too far out, no context at all if you ask me. Gary Speed was a top man, well respected and succesful and the tragic desicion of taking his own life had nothing to do with being disliked or getting stick. He was most likely suffering from a depression of some sort, and unforunatly it eventually caused him to do what he did. (R.I.P. Gary Speed ) Our very own Steve Kean however, is getting all the stick that he deserves, simply because he is not competent to being a manager, he is untruthful, lying and doing whatever he can to stay in his job despite 99 % of the Roversfans want him out. He is destroying our club and he has got no pride, no shame when he twists the truth for the owners to believe his BS. Nobody, no fan, would want to see Kean dead, of course not. But I want him OUT of our club ASAP and thats it.
