  1. 1. Should Steve Kean be sacked

Recommended Posts

I'm sure Steve The Optimist will be concentrating in the positives and reminding our Dear Owners that it's not all bad and we're doing realy well in the FA Cup.

He should have been sacked months ago and I, with several others, expressed grve foreboding when W@nkys took over. If they were going tosack him they would have done by now. It has gone beyond naivety and bloodymindedness now and now stinks of something far more sinister.

You need to have a chat with Glen Mullan - though leading the protests - he has the class to accept other peoples perspectives. It is insular people like yourself that have helped drive a wedge between supporters as much as Kean has.

"That will do. But thanks to people like you, "Mr Keans magical majority" we have to put up with the worst manager the PL has seen for a long long time"

I think you will find it is the Venky's that hired him - and will sack him when they see fit.

I don't want to speak for Glen, but after knowing his frustrations through correspondence I can only imagine what he thinks of people like yourself. And I don't know how you can label anyone of being insular when you've had your head wedged firmly in the sand for so long.

That's cute though. We've got people saying it's the protesters fault for the poor results. And now you're saying that people like me are at fault for driving a wedge between supporters. Do you have to bend over to speak, or are you able to speak freely when seated? You may want to check where the violence and contempt has arisen from during the protests, and the fact that the anti-Kean fans have been very well behaved. That could explain why some of us are now angry at some of the "majority" who argued till they were blue in the face, and now are wondering why they are met with frowns now they can see that Kean is taking the club down.

To be perfectly honest I'm glad you've seen some sense, and that others are. What annoyed me was your little diatribe about a few people that had said "I've told you so". What the heck did you expect. Warm hugs and handshakes?

You may not have hired him but you supported him and the decision to hire him when other people could clearly see it wasn't working, and you argued the toss when others were very angry, winding them up more. Then you get wound up because they say "I told you so." Imagine how wound up they were when you were telling them they were wrong, when they could see the club dying on its arse.

The bit that is scaring more than anything now is Venkys... I have this sinking feeling that should they finally get rid of Kean that whoever replaces him will simply be a complete laughing stock.. Comical Ali/Maradona/Paul Clement/Sylvester Stallone/The Tea lady/Bilajis son/Jerome Anderson

They really do come accross as that inept.

Just an observation - Ipswich tonight have just slumped to their sixth consecutive defeat. I've got a friend who is an Ipswich fan and he has just sent me a link to Paul Jewell's post match press conference.

My link

Is it not refreshing to hear a manager say this sort of stuff? It gives you the impression that he cares about the club and wants to try his best to sort out the problem.

Would we ever get this from Kean?

He doesn’t have the balls. We'll continue to get straw clutching with irrelevant facts, bizarre comments like the classic "maybe if there is a bit more dew on the grass" and 'oh well - maybe next time!'

Steve Kean could learn a lot from Jewell in my opinion.

I think he would definitely have a lot more support if we had the passion Jewell has shown rather than his smug attitude.

It's all too late now though - he will never be able to win over the fans after what we have been through.

I don't think now is the time to take frustrations out on each other. People have different tolerance levels and credit were credit is due certain supporters was willing to give Kean ample time to

1. Assemble his own squad

2. Adapt a style of play which was good to the eye

3. Make or break himself as a Manager in the Premier League.

Those who gave him more time may have had their faith repayed had he been able to get the results, I personally did not think he had it in him and came to that decision last season. However I was willing to give him a little more time this season and Venkys. They made big pledges in the summer but failed to deliver on any of those promises. After the Fulham game this season, my patience finally snapped as did quite a number of supporters. Hence we did the first protest.

We was ridiculed by many supporters saying we had jumped the gun, and it was too early however our minds were made up. We could have got things seriously wrong and Kean could have turned things around like other supporters expected. However if he did then we would all be happy right now.

Over the last few weeks more and more supporters have lost patience and I think it would be fair to say now that 9 out of 10 supporters would like Kean gone. It does not matter how long it took people to get to the decision, as the owners have proven to be a tough cookie crack. What is also evident now, is 75% of supporters appear also to want Venkys out, which puts a whole new perspective on things. The failed Qataris bid certainly turned many a supporters head.

Suddenly things off the pitch are looking just as bleak as they are on it. Each day more revelations are beginning to come out and this morning we are all waking up (Or not gone bed yet) to the news we have Bank Issue's again, Everything we own is Mortgaged, including Ewood and future revenue, whilst it is being alledged that we have not been clearing this debt or making any payments.

There are many things which have been specualated for months about behind the scene's activity, different theories, conspirocies, half truths, and factual information which when put together with other people's knowledge don't paint a great picture. In fact they paint a very worrying one.

Regardless of how supporters came to the position or line of thought they have this minute, it is what it is, and what is past is history. The general feeling amongst supporters is of a unified opinion, and has been for quite a while. The only thing which has seen major debate is the way supporters attack the situation, and protest have been something that not enough supporters to date have wanted to get involved in.

We also have the media working with us now, and they must be sick of my emails , phone calls, tweets and general pestering as I have not given them a minutes rest. However I have built a trust up with certain Journo's by talking about certain things off the record with them, which has given them a heads up on certain things.

Now the issue's we have is if Steve Kean was removed today for e.g, this would not fix what is broken at Ewood Park, it would only remove one component of the mess we find ourselves in. There is so many unanswered questions, whilst some people are aware of things and need to have these addressed by the club, In my opinion many of these concerns cannot be answered by the current board, as they don't have all the answers. Lots of these concerns need to be raised directly to the owners, If supporters will get that chance is another matter, or if supporters will be able to request the board to raise these concerns we just do not know at this stage,

When all thse protest started it was based purely on Steve Kean's inability to produce consistant results. Over the last 3 months more information has become available and the focus is now equally if not more on the Owners and their intentions. At present they have shown nothing to suggest that they have the clubs best interest at heart, their absence and secretive meetings in Pune have opened up many suggestions and sent the alarm bells ringing amongst certain supporters. The involvement of certain agents has certainly poured gallons of fuel on a fire that did not need a drink.

As supporters we need answers, and if I do get the opportunity to speak with the club, I will be asking:

1. For the board to have a meeting with a group of supporters to listen to concerns which they can answer,

2. For this meeting to be minuted and made public.

3. I will be making a request for the Board to try and facilitate a meeting with Venkys in Blackburn with a group of supporters from all categories of supporters fo issues which only Venkys can answer..

4, I will be proposing that an action group is set up were issue's can be debated on a monthly basis, and asking the club if they will enter talks with the BRST with an open mind so that group can be endorsed by the club to work on behalf of supporters.

5. I will discuss concerns regarding the current Management.

6. I will also raise the PR issue which has been sadly lacking over the last 12 months.

7. I will request that the newer members of the board speak with the press etc or even Radio Lancs to discuss their new roles at Ewood and bring a connection with them and the supporters like the old board had. Be nice to get to know what these new members are all about and what their roles are

Only when we feel all these things have been addressed to a satisfactory level, will we consider calling off organised protest against the Venkys and Steve Kean. This would only happen if the group which has supported us for over 3 months felt that everything they had concerns about had been addressed or answered.. Before some start to question this, We have always been told if fraction groups did do something which was un-organised that both Simon and I would be held fully responsible as we started the protest movement. So set the seed to put it in better words.

I have always maintained as has Simon since he started to help me organise things that there must be an end result from all these protest, That result or goal at present is a more open Blackburn Rovers which communicates information with its supporters and gives the truth and does not spin fairy tales which cannot be delivered. We need to know that our club is in safe ownership, and that plans to maintain the club over a sustainable amount of time are in place to secure the clubs future against all eventualities.

I know some people oppose the methods Simon and I use, and some people don't like us, but this is not a popularity contest, We did not start down this road to make friends. We came to the conclusions we did, because like all of you on BRFCS We are Blackburn Rovers supporters, This is the one defining thing we all have in common, We just felt that if something is not right, there is little point moaning about it if you are not willing to fight for it. We wanted to try and make a difference which would benefit all long term by getting to the bottom of the things which no-one outside of the club appears to understand. I would just describe Simon and I as pro-active and nothing more. Luckily enough people have got behind Simon and I over the last few months and this has got the media attention which has ultimately got he clubs attention. From here on in now, its about solutions and we will continue to do what the group ask of us as we have always done.

So yes Our results are terrible and Yes our Manager appears unlikely to turn things around, but we also need to consider the long game here, and understand that by removing Kean does not automatically make things rosie in the gardena lot more than the removal of the Manager needs to happen for our fears to be laid to rest

the absolutely worst thing about this is it is so f*** obvious what needs to be done.

- Drop in attendances

- Horrible statistics (points per game, clean sheets)

- Growing unrest among all supporters. I really fear that eventually it will get nasty and just hope it wont hurt any Rovers supporters. ¨

- Drunk driving

- Lost the dressing room (No one can say that they are playing for him now. Cardiff and Stoke have been absolute shambles. This for me is very important. Once you have lost the dressing room their is no bite or fight in the team to get out of the relegation battle)

Glen you say that Kean is'nt the major problem in the long term for which I agree but IF (and I am not as privy to info as yourself ) Kean is going to India to give sitreps and not talking to the board he surely is the shorterm problem and in all honesty that must be sorted first.

If the above situation is what is happening at Rovers then he is controlling the football side of the game to which he is massively failing and is also having a massive say at boardroom level which is also failing.

If the board feel the owners have more trust in Kean's decisions than their own then surely they would not risk the wrath of speaking out of term and against Kean and there in lies the problem, no manager should have the power he has and should always have to answer to the board.

Shorterm we need a manager and a chairman RIGHT NOW or there will be no long term.

Kean says Blackburn "forfeited" Carling Cup tie at Cardiff. As they say on Blue Peter, that reason sounds like one he had prepared earlier.

The reason I hate Kean with such a passion is the sheer ###### arrogance of the nonenity.

How dare he decide to "forfeit" a Cup Quarter Final.

He should have to refund the travelling supporters out of his own pocket if that be the case,

has he made any statements where he mentions forfeiting the premier league?....

Im going to throw my bloody shoes at the pr_ck, he consistently winds me up.

IMO if a national newspaper took an impartial poll of Rovers fans going to and probably also leaving Ewood Park on this coming Saturday asking ''Should Steve Kean be Sacked'' the result would be very similar to this thread.

Why won't the real owner sack him? he must have another manager on his books.

Agreed. He's an absolute nobody! He has taken advantage of this situation and refuses to let go despite every single shred of proof showing he is completely and utterly incapable of the job. He's vile, cretinous, horrible little man.

I'm sorry if this link is up elsewhere but I am furious at Kean's quotes. Mainly on behalf of those who paid and took the time to travel to Cardiff to watch and support the team. Surely Kean should be held to account for this statement of 'forfeiting' the game and the club should be reimbursing those travelling fans?

Please, anyone able to go to Ewood on Saturday do get there rather than showing your displeasure/frustration by boycotting the game (an approach which would not have any impact, in my opinion). This guy needs to be forced out. He is an embarrassment and a snake.

Would'nt be suprised if he's p####d a load of Cardiff fans off with those comments now as well,

Very disrespectful.

Would the tool openly admitting this not leave the club open for punishment with the FA?

It's basicaly match fixing

I mentiined Portsmiuth when these took over and was roundlycriticised by so-called better fans. Its on the cards.

This is not about being more right than others. I well and truly accept that I have been overly optimistic - not the first time in my life, but I tend to give the benefit of the doubt.

I guess there are many in the same boat as me.
