  1. 1. Should Steve Kean be sacked

Recommended Posts

If Alan is right then a win today would be very bad news. Infact it could well seal our relegation.

I'm leaning towards a draw and a sacking.

Personally I think regardless of what happens we're relegated. Unless the new manager is a miracle worker.

We need the win, we are already becoming detached from the teams around us. I hate Kean but I could never wish for anything other than a rovers win.

Kamy seems to be backing Nicko's story about Kean being on the brink and that a defeat would very likely see him sacked.

If Kean is guaranteed to go after a loss I would take it, I see it as short term pain for long term gain. A win today will give Kean probably until January and looking at his record so far he will lose pretty much all of them.

Its a loose loose situation really, Lose - and we fall further behind (Kean may be sacked). Win - Kean remains in charge and we go on another 8 game run without a win etc.

I'm really scared about what the outcome of today will be under Venky's. Any normal owners and he would have been sacked already, but they never do anything the simple way...

In My own opinion, I'd love to see Kean gone. But I don't think it's going to happen.... Things run alot deeper than the results of his managerial career. :angry2:

Yep, today is a no win situation in so many ways.

IF Kean HAS to win today or be sacked then a draw is probably the best outcome - we at least gain some ground on those above us and Kean still gets potted. However, the new manager would have to work an absolute miracle to save us. It'd need a combination of a brilliant manager (Hughes would fit this bill) and a LOT of investment in January. If the Raos are serious about Rovers they'll need to invest heavily in Jan and back the manager in the transfer market in order for us to have any chance of staying up. We'd need at minimum a right back, two midfielders and two strikers IMO, that's how bad our squad really is.

Unfortunately I do not see the above scenario occurring and I'm very much resigned to relegation. I'd love to be proven wrong, but Venky's track record speaks for itself.

But ... it's one thing to sack him.

You need to appoint a caretaker.

While caretaker is in charge you have to select and recruit a manager who is an improvement on what you already have.

Venky's sacked Sam ... there was no good reason for doing so. Suspicions persist that it was because he wasn't a yes man, and would not work with the new structure (if you could call it that) at the club. They then also sacke dthe assistant manager, again for no good reason anyone could think of, and appointed the first team coach. I think we all have our opinions on that. But Kean's appointment was a total muddle, there were mixed signals coming out about how long he'd be retained for. He's there for the next few games, he's caretaker until end of the season, we're still looking for a replacement manager, whoops we've appointed Steve Kean manager.

We also have very strong indications that any decisions made by our owners are made by a committee of 4 - Balaji Rao, Venkatesh Rao, Anuradha Desai and her husband. And all decisions have to be agreed unanimously.

We also know that the command structure at Ewood has been gutted and the no-nonsense football men have been replaced by another Rao family member who struck a nazi salute when posing with a wax-work of Hitler and the guy who used to help with the programme notes.

So, reviewing what I've just said there, our owners can't agree on a decision, they interfere when it's not wanted and make muddled, poor decisions when they do, there's no-one who knows what they're doing at Ewood who can intervene and stop them in any way, and they've in all probability left it too late to sack Kean anyway. And as an addendum, they seem unwilling to plough any of their own cash in, [preferring to run the club on accumulating credit and transfer receipts.

They need to sack Kean and replace him with a highly-talented manager who can get 33 points from 25 games with a poorly-balanced squad lacking defensive options and combative midfielders and strking options. To do this they need to:-

- Change the management structure at the club, to put someone in overall control of making strategic decisions, who is highly knowledgable and has the contacts, knowledge and perseverence to obtain the absolute best quality manager we can secure with whatever funds we have available. Either that or the four of them need to do the next steps by themselves.

- Sack Kean

- Identify a replacement and identify a budget for hiring them

- Interview the shortlist (actually, might need to skip this step).

- Hire them.

And do this in time for next Friday morning.

They either need to agree on a new Chief Exec and get them in place yesterday, or they need to fire Kean themselves and hire a replacement who is capable of getting us out of this whole bloody mess.

I wouldn't expect them to agree on what to have for dinner.

So my expectation is that we'll draw or lose today and that Kean will still be in charge by the time of teh Sunderland game. I'ms till expecting us to have 11 ponts by NYE.

Good luck and good night.

If you are in Blackburn today don't boycott the game. It will make no difference. Go and give Steve Kean as much abuse as you can. If you are in the JW Stand, get as close to him as you can.

The players have given the fans nothing, and have shown full support of the manager. Don't get on their backs today BUT let them get on with the game and put your focus on the scumbag in charge. Win, lose or draw the goal has to be to remove Kean.

"We've got a lot of young players in the team and it can certainly affect them if there's a little bit of negativity aimed when you're ahead and when you're playing well, so I hope they can bear that in mind.

We know there is a group are not particularly happy but there must be other issues because I can't fathom how when we are leading they are chanting but that's their prerogative.

I'm always positive and we now have a good run of games," Kean added. "The best thing for us to do would be to pick up points, go on an unbeaten run and climb the table, and if they want to protest then, then there something else at the bottom of it.

I'm not frustrated in the least. I'm very happy. My dressing room is bouncing. I might invite a few of [the protestors] into dressing room and see that in there it doesn't effect us at all."

Bbc. Contradicts himself in highlighted parts.

What an idiot  the protesters would be happy to hear that you stupid muppet, it's not about affecting the team, it's about letting the owners know we want you OUT.

"The dressing room is bouncing" ffs... we beat SWANSEA AT HOME! I appreciate that under your stewardship Keano any win is a miracle but it certainly isn't something to celebrate wildly.

So...I guess we are stuck with him then are we?

I am delighted with 3 vital points, but I remember being delighted after the Arsenal-game, and we all know what followed the next weeks and months!

I wish I could read Venkys' minds right now.....

talksport out

ffs sake you'd think we'd won something not beaten 10 man f'ing swansea at home a mere 3 days after being utterly embarrassed by mighty cardiff........confident as anything that stoke would dick us and backed it up with money, never felt swansea would beat us at home but i am almightily confident sunderland will kill us and put us bottom again so this knob really should'nt be bigging himself up "they'll be embarrassed when we win with nice football" sh!te bites him in the arse in the very next game.

665 votes for Kean our on one site, How many of you took keyboard action to physical action( Providing you was there"

I voted Kean out and I chanted for Kean out. So yes I took it to physical action.

I didn't stay behind afterwards but made my feelings known during it, that in my mind is more effective.

Hopefully someone important noted the stand up if you want Kean out numbers!

I too didn't stay behind - had to be at church to sort the computer for the kids' nativity, but i wore my yellow coat and stood up when the chant to do so went up; even tried to get those around me to get out of their apathy and stand too as I felt a bit daft standing on my own at the front of the family stand. So yes, Glen, i did my bit and would have done more if i could have. I don't think it's the majority on here who will be ashamed to look in the mirror when we are relegated.

I can't stand the man:

Kean believes that it is only a minority of fans that want him to depart. “I would ask the majority to maybe be vocal and say to the protesters to give the lads a chance. It can certainly affect the young players when there’s negativity, especially when our team’s ahead.”

The guys that claim to be ITK are still saying that regardless of the win both brothers views are against Kean hence the reason Kean went direct to Mr's D for the contract talk, apparently even Mr's D faith in Kean is now faltering.

I dont know how much they know or where they get their info but one thing is for sure I dont think our owners change their mind easily so if they do decide he is not the right man i'm sure they wont hesitate to get rid.

It does seem strange that after a win that there are still people ITK who think he still may get binned and Kamy is one of them.

Getting rid of him isn't as big a problem as getting a good replacement. Who wants the job who's actually any good?
