Kammy, can I have a guess at the replacement you have heard, is Zhavi pushing Avram Grant

for the job.......

I dread to think! But at least Avram could get a record, for relegating three different clubs in three consecutive seasons if it is a good guess!

I would think the attendance at the meeting (if true) by representatives from Barclays is with regard to the future of the club and the potential financial consequences of relegation.

If Rovers do get relegated then I imagine Barclays would be extremely worried about the security they have on the mortgage facility which would drop by at least £26M overnight.

I would expect Barclays reps to be seeking assurances from the club and whilst they may attend the start of the Board meeting I would not expect them to stay for all of it. (Would you want your dirty washing aired in public to your main financial backers?)

I don't really expect Kean to go as noone on the Board has the authority, knowledge or bottle to do the right thing.

Given some of the players Apparent loyalty to Kean the replacement would need to be strong character who will be able to galvanize the squad and earn the required respect within a short period of time. Megson, Grant, Dowie are not the answer.

The players loyalty extends to whoever is in charge and who pays them. What about the fuss when BFS went from Nelson and Dunn. They soon changed their tune when Kean offered them new contracts.

Unfortunately the club is so dysfunctional I would not be surprised by whovever they appointed IF they decided to get rid of Kean. After all it is not like they have had weeks and months to think about a replacement.

Dear Oh Dear, Kean future very much in the balance this morning but I didn't think it was possible for even Venky's to screw up sacking Kean but IF the name of the potential replacement that I have been given is true then honestly i'd rather keep Kean (that's how bad this replacement is). If I get it confirmed will reveal the name but I am hoping and praying it is a nasty rumour.

Somebody worse than Kean !!!!!!!!!! does such a person in football exist?

Re my comment on Barclays, they are undoubtedly going to be giving bad news- no bank asks to go to a board meeting in the circumstances Rovers find themselves in just for the sherry and mince pies.

The question is how bad will it get for Rovers and Venky's and the answer will be somewhere between nasty and enough to make Venky's wonder if it is worth the candle to carry on.

Which name could Kamy be referring to here? The type of name that usually gets the blood flowing cold when connected to a Premier League club?

Iain Dowie, Gary Megson, Paul Jewell, Avram Grant, Sammy Lee, Roy Keane, Kevin Keegan, Joe Kinnear, Steve Coppell, Chris Coleman, Kevin Blackwell, Gary McAllister all spring to mind as regular names linked to jobs.

Hand on heart I would take Megson, Grant, Keane, Keegan, Coppell or Coleman right now. I doubt any of them would have a win percentage of less than 20% after a year in control.

I don't even think Megson or Coppell would come. Megson is doing very well with his beloved Sheffield Wednesday right now and will probably have them back in the Championship next season. Coppell is based in the South and seems to have lost his appetite for a fight.

I was hoping more along the lines of Eriksson or Curbishley. Both out of work and vastly experienced. Doubt we could lure Hughes or Benitez back into management at this point unless significant cash was available.

I reiterate I will take ANYONE, just so I never have to look at Steve-Kean-007.jpg after every game.

I'd imagine the replacements name is a scare tactic to try and get Kean some support.

To be worse than Kean, they must have a league win % of less than 20% and a defence that hadn't kept a clean sheet for almost half a season.

I might be wrong but even the likes of Grant, Dowie and Laws managed that !

Someone told me this morning that Mark Bowen was at Ewood on Saturday - I wonder in what capacity ?

Kamy - although they may not be an ideal name, what makes you say they are worse than Kean as that must be hard to achieve - is it based on the way they set up the team, tactics or just personality ? many people would have said Pardew was wrong for Newcastle, but look at the job he has done thus far if you see what I mean.

i think it may be a rumour Kamy as Rovers will need to get it right, lets hope Kean is frog marched today - any ideas what sort of time we may hear ?

If the person mentioned has managed another club, I'm happy to have him over Kean, simple as that.

KEAN OUT and take AGNEW with you!

No idea how the Barclays presence will overlap with the probable firing of Kean.

But today is probably the day the careless irresponsible Venky's chickens start coming home to roost in terms of the Raos finally facing the consequences of their inadequacy and idiocy.

Going to need patience today.

Lots of stuff gouing on but nothing definitive as yet.

The attendance by Barclays at the Board meeting and what they say might well be the most important event happening today even if Kean gets potted.

What do you think is the significance of barclays being there

What do you reckon the chances are that he'll get canned???

Bingo. Just a rumour at present but has come from someone who has been right in the past, he is not sure if it means Kean is getting sacked and Grant is his replacement or Grant is coming in to work with Kean.

I am giving this more credence because the person who told me is often right and because Pini has a very good relationship with Mrs D. Also he would be cheap and thus far owners have liked cheap.

Go to last week's Daily Telegraph article.

This is not based on any inside from Ewood or Pune but from knowledge of how banks work. You can deduce what will have happened to have reached this stage; all this is standard bank practise:

- the Bank's central assumption will be Rovers will be relegated- only 2 PL clubs bottom on 1 Dec have not been

- they will have talked with Paul Hunt and formally requested all board minutes (!)

- they will have concluded they needed to attend a board meeting having concluded there is a corporate governance as well as a financing problem

The next steps are pretty automatic

- a freeze on call down on facilities of Rovers and Venky's London at best and demand for significant repayment in a tight timescale at worst

- a requirement for a detailed month by month P&L and cash flow assuming relegation and no return to the PL showing how Rovers continue to live until after the parachute ends. The collapse in marketing/sponsorship revenues earned by the club will make this track look particularly horrible.

- almost certainly a demand for a capital injection from Venky's before any transfer spending can be countenanced. The bank will want to see very serious skin in the game from the owners.

Why are our owners only interested in proven relegation providers???

Baron Von Greenback will only take us to coventry.

A Burnley fan:

It's funny what's happening with Rovers innit mate? The only thing that could make it better is if they teamed Kean up with someone like Avram Grant!
