  1. 1. Should Steve Kean be sacked

Recommended Posts

Thought of a new song for us -

E I E I E I O

Down the Premier League we go

We may not be in Europe

But we're still in the hunt

We are Rovers, We are Rovers

Steve Kean is a decent bloke really he's just a little misunderstood

I'm not sure the last line goes very well, can anyone think of anything more catchy?

Brilliant that. That MUST be sung from now on :brfcsmilie:

No idea if this has been put up here, but:

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11096_2705370,00.html

So much for our beautiful passing game  we're the third worst team in the league for successful passes (no surprise, our players are terrible at retaining possession and passing to each other - Pedersen especially seems to have been instructed specifically to give the ball to the opposition at all times).

N'Zonzi has also committed the most fouls this season (or at least up to that date), which doesn't surprise me as he seems to lack discipline and it's unlikely Sir Positive of the Village is likely to change that. He'll probably just tell N'Zonzi he's glad he's getting "stuck in".

BAD BOYS Team Fouls Yellows Reds Points

N'Zonzi Blackburn 32 6 0 50

Adam Liverpool 25 2 1 38

Fellaini Everton 28 3 0 37

The number of shots we've had on goal is also quite tragic, considering our attacking players are supposed to be so good.

Our 'passing gsme' is a myth peddled by Kean and unfortunately lapped up by too many of our fans- often those who had the biggest issue with the previous manager.

Either it's a myth or straight out of a Han Christian Andersen story about a podgy emperor.

After the Rovers v Swansea game Brendan Rodgers said that even if Swansea went down the PL table they would continue with their passing game and NOT play like Rovers.

I agree totally that the Rovers 'passing game' is a complete myth.

is that an official stat?

Can't be true... the people in the village are saying it's the best football they've seen since the club first came into existence. General consensus there is that we make the old Brazilian teams look like Stoke City, our passing is so beautifully fluid they half expect the ground to turn into water itself.

Long ball, preposterous.

to be fair, I got the long ball stat from a podcast with the chap from zonal marking (great site if you like football tactics). So cannot say 100% it is true. Depends on what you class as long ball and even then you can argue that a long ball. Isn't bad. It is nice to see that we finish in the bottom three on first half and second half results

Not many with worse shooting accuracy either.

Interesting first half and second half stats. Exposes this current Blackburn Rovers set up as consistantly crap and weak. The second half table is also very alarming in that it certainly shows Rovers fitness levels arent what they should be, nor is Keans substitutions as being effective in order to get that positive result.

All in all relegation stats before our eyes unless someone new can come in and turns this stinking sinking ship around.

I've been saying this for ages - just because Kean is telling you that we're playing short, neat football like Brazil from the 90's, doesn't make it true.

Our style has been a less successful and less organised version of Big Sam's style, with a few phases of triangle passes inbetween.

Still amuses me that some people are saying 'well at least we're not playing that Allardyce rubbish anymore'...

Are you sure about that?

The way the team plays is more like how an amateur side plays. Our defenders aren't sure when to push up and when to hold a deep line. Our wingers don't track back, our central midfielders don't close down players on the edge of the box. We are woeful from set pieces, we don't know how to attack nor defend them. Our fitness levels are ######, Formica hasn't become stronger over the year, we don't run nearly as much as other teams and always seem to be caught out.

Our younger players aren't developing, Rochina doesn't know when to pass or shoot. Hoilett puts his head in the ground and runs..

when we do attack the players who don't have the ball never take up the correct positions to help the man with the ball, a lot of times it looks like its a group of friends playing the ball to one another rather than succinct and sharp passes in order to move us closer to the goal.

it's so frustrating watching us play. I'm no coach or manager and I can see these huge problems in our team, the current management is incompetent; I can't see how anyone could do a worse job than this clown

kean isnt goin anywhere for long so just have to put up with it, at least we're scoring a hell of a lot more gols under him than than we did under Sam, apparently we've scored more goals this season than any other side outside the top five... only its our defence and centre of the midfield thats the problem, leaking goals for fun, but with nelsen comin back and if we can keep him and the likes of givet and samba fit we should start to see some improvement.

if i could have anyone back it would be JJ, not Sam.

That stat will count for what exactly when we are in the Championship come August?

well in my opinion many of the goals other teams have scored from us has come from personal fouls, of course thats partly steve keans fault when he chooses to go with salgado, but its usual easier to a teams defense than their offense.

we've scored many goals but it doesn't help us when only bolton has conceived more goals than us. If kean and our players manage to straighten up our defense we may look at a brighter 2012 than 2011

just trying to be postive...
