When are the media going to go full throttle for Venkys and Kean, its well overdue..

In fact there have been some good pieces in the national press this week.

The Mail in its Bolton match preview gave a good summing up of the unfolding tragedy at Ewood and Henry Winter in the Daily Telegraph wrote an excellent comment piece denouncing the owners.

Best of all was Mick Dennis in the Express who blamed Jack Walker's descendants in the Walker Trust for selling out of his beloved club to anyone willing to take it off their hands no matter whether they were suitable owners or not.

He pointed out a tiny paragraph buried towards the end of the 2008 annual report in which the Trust said they would be withholding all future funding for the club - the beginning of the end as it turned out.

peter flippin reid? wouldnt surprise me though

Peter Reid? A man who just worked at Plymouth Argyle? A man who earned no money and actually put his own cash in to try and keep the club afloat? A decent man, an honest man? Who do you want to take over and work with our esteemed owners, Mourinho?

I'd have Reid in a heart beat. (or Curbishley)

(No offence roverandout.)

I was driving home tonight with Radio 5 on when John Inverdale asked David Pleat (the pundit covering Spurs v Chelsea) for a few comments regarding the Kean situation. No doubting he's a very knowledgeable chap on football matters but someone I don't agree with regularly, but I think he was spot on with his comments, so much so I've took the time to re-listen to what he said........

I think it's an awful situation.

It's too difficult for him to continue in my view. I think that even if he wins a couple of games now the law of averages says he'll go back on to a losing trend. The players aren't quite good enough to sustain a run up the table and as a consequence of that I think it's inevitable he's going to lose his job. This might sound strange but I think the honourable thing, he should go to the Venky's and discuss a termination payment because I think the body of opinion from all sides - supporters, press - I just think he's in an absolutely hopeless situation and it isn't fair on him or his family.

Given Pleat's role in the game ie someone on the inside rather than a fan I think that's a pretty fair take on the situation.

Pleat should have signed off by saying it's not fair on Rovers as a club and the supporters.

Kean is thinking only of himself by staying - if his family are suffering (which I doubt as they live in Surrey) then that is his fault too.

Curbishley would be an amazing appointment considering what we have and what we could have (Reid/Grant/etc).

It would be an amazing appointment in any situation irrelevant to who we are linked with. Kept West Ham up in nearly impossible circumstances (albeit with Tevez) and worked minor miracles with Charlton. Knows how to get the best out of limited players and also knows how to work on shoe string budgets. I would be ecstatic if this was even slightly true, and he is a good man who is honest which is a great change from that lieing, backstabbing turnip we have in charge (I use that term loosely) in Kean. Unfortunately I feel this is far to sensible appointment for Venkys to even contemplate.

Ive never really listened to Pleat on the radio but regarding the Kean/Venky's situation, he's been one of the very few 'neutral' pundits to really see the situation for what it is. Good to hear.

What planet is David Moyes on?

Sometimes I think we'd be better off outside the Premiership such is the sense of detachment between fans and the players/managers in this league.

Moyes says that, as a human being, he found the treatment of Steve Kean disgusting? Its a shame he doesnt extend that symapthy to referees when he is spouting vile abuse towards them and acting as the chief cheerleader to the abuse doled out from the stands. Does he ever feel guilty about that? No, in fact I doubt it's ever even occured to him.

As for Redknapp, if he seriously defines "putting a shift in" as running around a football pitch for 90 minutes whilst on thousands of pounds a week then he needs his head examining. Who on earth does he think he is?

Interesting these Scots are speaking out for Kean eh? He's still here then, it's like feckin groundhog day. Just wake me up from this nightmare please. This has to be just a bad dream doesn't it, this just does not happen in this modern football age.

They've done it all the way through. Lies. 'He needs 4 points from the next two games' for example, we didnt get any, hes still here. 'they all want him out bar one', 'they were going to sell but one of them blocked it', it's always one of them that prevents any act of common sense taking place. How convenient.

Oh and has anyone else noticed that the rays of hope and light at the end of the tunnel normally perpetuate from Alan Nixon?

Meanwhile David Moyes has just disappointed me immensely on SSN. Tell you what David, what are you going to say when we're in administration? A cruel man would say that you'd prefer Kean kept his job, only two other relegation places to worry about then, same with Coyle, or maybe it's ignorance? Nah, come on, you know what's going on at BRFC fellas.

We're being hung out to dry and the football world doesn't give a damn. Still no word from the club. silence. Unbelievable. There will be a riot soon, someone will have a pop at him. I'd sooner it was the 'owners' but we'll not see them again. Kean has some bottle I'll give him that, how he stands there and takes it I'll never know. Then again he clearly doesn't give a flying damn about my hobby, our club, if he did he would have resigned months ago. 'I tried it, I'm more suited to being a Coach if I'm honest' - who would have minded that? Fair play to him.

Now though? It's corrupt, as suspected as soon as Myles was signed, JW left and arguably when they potted Big Sam.

Come on Henry Winter et al, step up to the plate and take this shower to task. Please.

Surprise surprise another Scot

magicalmortensleftpeg: That's a good post talking about David Pleat, do I have persons mixed up or is this the same person who is an assistant coach over at Manchester City, I always found Pleat interesting, tried coaching himself and fell short so if it is the same one, he is now learning from Mancini. And the Pleat I am thinking about played some in Italy, imagine this same scenario if this happened in Italy, Spain, Germany, Belgium and on and on, Netherlands.

In another thread I talked about the Rovers bad luck and this whole scenario is a, it's a nightmare... out of all the clubs in the world, this has happened to Blackburn, it just seems the worse of luck, people have been unhappy with the Glazers at Manchester Utd. and were upset at Newcastle a few years ago but this one seems to be a lot worse. 'nuff said.

Your thinking of David Platt.

David Pleat only played in the lower leagues, but was manager at Luton, Tottenham Leicester and Sheffield Wednesday.

These managers coming our in support of Kean all have one thing in common, protests against them and/or their current clubs have or are also taking place today:

Pardew: The Geordies hated his appointment and Ashley has faced fan furry for years up there. Nice losing run since renaming stadium now too.

Moyes: hardly been pulling up tree trunks in recent seasons and the fans are starting to turn on Kenwright.

Lennon: disgracefully assaulted by a Hearts fan who disgustingly got away with it. Shocking run of results at times this season and last and certain pockets of the Parkhead crowd are on his back atm.

Redknapp: all round know it all, has an opinion on everything . Shouldn't you be concentrated on your tax returns in preparation for next month Harry?

All of the above have more than enough on their own plates without needing to have a go at our fans and supporting the worst manager in our history.

well if thats the case the club is doomed and we'll be down before the end of Feb...the sooner we go into admin the better take the points deduction this season and hopefully start afresh next year in the Championship and consolidate...
