Stuart Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 Disagree Jisty what attracted me to this board was the diverse viewpoints that existed on it, sadly it seems if you are not part of the status quo you are ridiculed for holding an opinion, a real shame IMO. I think that's a very generalising statement as their are very diverse and worthwhile opinions (even now) on this messageboard. However, the tipping point has definitely been reached as far as the manager is concerned - and very soon, if not already, the owners. For the record, I don't appreciate the "diverse viewpoints" of any of the "Kean 9" listed above, in fact I have one of them on ignore and have had for some time. WUMs and other clubs' fans on here having a laugh. At us.

broadsword Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 'time to lay off your manager'. If this is in the sense of 'i've just been laid off' then really I couldn't agree more
47er Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 Out of order IMO, people are allowed to hold opinions without being targeted for ridicule. Even if they're not Rovers fans? I think their views have only been put there to mock us. +1
Steve Moss Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 Out of order IMO, people are allowed to hold opinions without being targeted for ridicule. If an opinion is ridiculous, why shouldn't I be free to mock it? Am I not entitled to my opinion? Or must I be respectful of every opinion, no matter how moronic or self-destructive?

Or must I be respectful of every opinion, no matter how moronic or self-destructive? It's your opinion that the opinion is ridiculous lol! I took issue with names of posters being highlighted to show people these are the supporters of Kean, IMO out of order, I am not a mod am not telling people what to do merely throwing something out there for people to perhaps think about.

And you are free to mock my opinion, if you think it ridiculous. The community as a whole, reading our respective positions, will ultimately judge which of our stated opinions are "out of order". Personally, I am of the opinion that pro-Kean equates to being anti-Rovers. If highlighting the names of the 8 or so who [allegedly] still back him lends credence to that opinion (or not) then it is a perfectly legitimate discussion point.
Rover_Shaun Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 Why have a poll if people feel pressured to vote only one way?
Majiball Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 Why have a poll if people feel pressured to vote only one way? Some one had blunder'd: Theirs not to make reply, Theirs not to reason why, Theirs but to do & die.
broadsword Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 Where did Al mock the opions of the "Kean 9", or target them for ridicule? I must've missed that, all I saw was that he pasted in a list of names of people voting in favour of Kean. That information is freely available. By expressing their views in an open ballot that seem to have no basis in logic, common sense or anything in the known universe that isn't demented, it is they themselves that have made themselves targets for ridicule. Nothing more, nothing less.
adsfortheblues Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 Some one had blunder'd: Theirs not to make reply, Theirs not to reason why, Theirs but to do & die. Your being silly now
John Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 Kean working day and night for these 4 signings - bidding for Andy Johnson tomorrow.
Majiball Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 Your being silly now That was my intention so thanks I guess.
Kamy100 Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 Tony Parkes: Kean Must Go and Walker Trust Must Shoulder Some Blame
Mercer Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 Looks like Coco bidding for Johnson tomorrow according to Mirror (Grella must want change of company in treatment room). Beggars belief - keep hearing we have goals in us but need to keep back door shut (not been closed for 21 games now !!). The man's a deluded fool, IMO - we simply have no defensive midfield and it's not rocket science. If Kean is allowed to bring more disasters in ala Petro, Goodwillie, well we are well and truly doomed.
adsfortheblues Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 That was my intention so thanks I guess. I agree
DanielMB Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 So is Andy Johnson the marquee signing we have been waiting for?
Backroom DE. Posted December 27, 2011 Backroom Posted December 27, 2011 Andy Johnson, Venky's "big" signing to get everyone on board again
Torgeir Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 Yeah, that'll convince the fans - sign a crock on £50.000 p/w. I think A. Johnson could do a job, but it won't convince me Venky's and Kean are right for our club. It's too late to sack Kean now and get a new manager in for January, how updated on the transfer market would for example Mark Hughes be?
Seggie Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 Do we not need a DM and RB?? It seems to me that Venkys and Kean just want players that could excite, sorry but the nitty gritty is needed now and should be first priority
Batman. Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 I must say, overall, whoever has been in charge of the signings since Kean has taken over has done a decent job. I have no problem with 70% of the personnel who have come in, however- Not all of the correct positions have been priotitised, and more than anything, Kean has proven that he has NO ability to organise and select the correct players in the correct games. I'd love to have seen Allardyce, Hughes, and Souness have been given a go with players such as Rochina, Formica, Simon, Yakubu, and even Johnson. However, with Kean in charge, I find it difficult to get excited about any incoming players.
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 We need a mobile target man, not Andy Johnson. We also need two full backs and 2 midfielders....just like we did in summer. Ridiculous. kean out

Black Burn Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 Some of them might have voted for Kean out of sympathy rather than because they support him. So it isn't that they're being ridiculous, but they think, "oh well, everyone's going to vote him out anyway, so I'll give him a vote of confidence because I pity the poor guy". And then there's the Bolton Wanderers fan (I think) who probably thinks we should get behind our manager instead of abusing him even though he has no idea that if we do just that, we'll be relegated. Or he wants us to be relegated so that Bolton will stay up. Your pick. Anyway, some news regarding Kean from Alan Nixon on twitter. Not sure if you guys believe him, but I'll post his statements here and leave them for you to decide whether they're trustworthy. Basically, he says that Steve Kean thinks that he is spending, but he is not safe. Mrs. Desai might be considering to sack him after all and employ Hughes. I'll summarize his tweets regarding Blackburn Rovers for the past couple of days. A few days ago, he tweeted that if Venkys wanted to hire a new manager, they need cash. Otherwise they will not be able to tempt a new manager. They placed an estimated cost for Mark Hughes, but they haven't gotten the money then. So that's where the finance deal in Dubai comes into play. Apparently, once the money flows from Dubai, they'll re-evaluate the situation and see if they've got enough money to employ Hughes AND give him the cash to buy players. Finally today, it seems that the finance is finally in place (he emphasizes on the word SEEMS so he's warning us not to get our hopes too high up), and tomorrow will be telling in whether Venkys will sack Kean and replace him with Hughes. Either way, they will somehow cough out the dough for players like Andy Johnson. Kean has already gone to see Vinesh Rao for the budget for players, and apparently it's been approved. But if what I interpret Nicko's tweets correctly, it isn't finalized because once Venkys get the cash from Dubai they might immediately replace Kean with Hughes who is their top choice. It's all down to Mrs. Desai and Nixon says they have to commit NOW. Here's the link.
Kelbo Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 My biggest concern with Kean is he isnt learning, we still have both full backs exposed far too much by our wide midfielders not tracking back and providing support, 'Pressure and Support' both attacking and defending, is an integral part of coaching and I simply cant see why we keep ignoring that fact!!
