  1. 1. Should Steve Kean be sacked

Recommended Posts

Big 24 hours for Rovers, Venny arrived back from India last night and he will carry out whatever Mrs D/Family have decided to do.

I am told that there this finance coming in from Dubai, so the question is do they sack Kean and let a new manager spend that money or to back Kean and let him spend it. If they back Kean then expect the likes of Andy Johnson to arrive very soon (as per Nicko's article last night). If they do sack Kean they can get around paying him off immediately by putting him on "gardening leave".

For finance do we mean debt or is someone buying in? (fingers crossed)

I think money has been a real problem which has been the main priority (of late) for Venky’s.

Generally, I don’t think there has been a situation where a manager has kept their job given the results which Kean has attained – in addition, with most if not all, the fan base demanding his immediate removal this really is a crazy state of affairs.

Truly remarkable – Venky’s must really hate us.

We are going to go in to 2012 with one away win in 2011 and 3 wins out of the last 30 and marooned in 20th place, yet Kean is a 'terrific' manager and the fans are clueless morons.

It really is the most backward logic, I suppose it just shows the utter contempt that fans of provincal football clubs are held in. Don't try and question those 'in the game', know your place.

Sadly,I dont think your too far from the truth there Matty.

Sack Kean, pay him off, bring in a good manager and give him a decent transfer kitty...

OR

Retain Kean, buy Andy Johnson, plus a few freebies from South America.

Hmm... I wonder which option our esteemed owners will choose

Whether Kean will be sacked will depend much upon how much common sense Vinny Rao has.

IF he has his ear to the ground and his eyes wide open then, surely, he can only have told his family just how much Kean is loathed and that his position has become untenable.

I said about a week ago that I believe there will be a sting in the tale and I reckon he will be potted.

However, their thinking seems so muddled and indecisive, it would not surprise me if they say he stays until after Saturday's game but can spend no money until next week. Then, if hammered he goes, a narrow defeat he stays. You couldn't make it up but probably closer to reality than we know!!!

Whatever, I think he'll be potted between now & Sunday.

Just waiting for Mercer's bookies exclusive now. ;)

Offers no market for Kean now as he thinks that no one at Ewood has a feckin clue as to what Venky's will do next.

However, he has himself put a "cheeky few quid" on Rovers being in Administration by the end of the season (not a market you will find on the 'normal High Street').

I think they were naive and misled in what buying a football club meant.

Problem is that defense works only for a short time. They're approaching their third transfer window and haven't figured out what needs to be done?

Vinny isnt related to the Raos despite the name. I believe he's been rooting for a sacking for a month now too. Only Mrs Desai hasnt yet, and in a democracy that is Rovers, its her call.

If Vinny Rao isn't a Venkys Rao that might be a good thing. Don't they like to do their firing through others?

I wish I was one of the players sometimes – coming into training on a daily basis and listening to Steve Kean with all his years of experience – it must really motivate everyone.

The fact he was the former first team coach promoted above his station would not strike me as odd at all.

Even if I was not doing well, I am sure he would be there, waiting, to put his arm round my shoulder and give me some words of comfort – even after, yet another defeat, it would all be fine – the cones would be put out for working (again) on our defensive shape & pattern.

Worse than Steve Wigley? (remember him)

The way he talks is like no other team in the league has had any bad luck or injury problems.

There's been at least 3 instances I can remember this season where one of our players has fouled an opposition player in the box and it hasn't been given. It happened at Liverpool! You can't focus on one side of the luck coin without looking at the other, and regardless of what Kean says we've had plenty of fortune as well - which makes our position even worse, really.
