  1. 1. Should Steve Kean be sacked

Recommended Posts

So, I am interviewing Steve Kean tomorrow afternoon. We may be given permission to release interview as a podcast, if not i will do a written piece. I am going to attempt get answers to the many issues that have been raised on here!

Warning before the interview don't look in his eyes if he says the following:

Look into my eyes, look into my eyes, the eyes, the eyes, not around the eyes, don't look around my eyes, look into my eyes, you're under. I'm doing a good job, a gooooood job you have only positive questions, it is the minority of the fans, I have 13 positive results, I need 10 more games 'Oh, oh, oh, oh'. Three, two, one... You're back in the room.

Hopefully yours is his last in depth interview as Rovers manager!

I find it interesting that everybody kicks Kean - even when he agrees to do an interview with Kamy. Surely there is somebody out there that can give him some credit for his courage in facing Kamy at a time when he is getting so much stick ? I look forward to the interview with interest - but know that for some fans there is really nothing he can say that would make any difference, as they formed their opinions months ago - and no matter what are unlikely to change them.

I give both the club and Kean credit for having the balls to do it. Obviously they're happy to do it because they think they can win the fans over (remember, everyone rates his abilities in the presser), and if he manages it, then fair play. I suspect it's too little too late to personally win me over, but I'm happy to listen to what he's got to say.

Good grief, that is grim reading. It will be hard for any manager to get much out of that. Coupled with our away form, tha damage may already be done even at this early stage.

This is my fear. Over the next few months even with a proper manager we may struggle to get a decent amount of points - under Kean I dread to think how bad things will be. (Having said that I think we might get a suprise vs Arsenal.) He really couldn't have had an easier start to the campaign. 1 point from those 4 games says it all...

It is sad isn't it?

It like having a brawl with Sooty, Sweep and George from Rainbow and getting your ass handed to you. As you pull yourself off the ground, you see Tyson and Hulk cracking their knuckles.

Brilliant. Had me laughing out loud. Sadly it's true.

i dont see the point personally, he will only put a spin on every question asked, we cant trust him in interviews on national tv let alone a one-on-one with kamy, im not knocking kamy, good on ya for doing this interview and goodluck, you will need it with that lying whatsit.

He does not seem to have a clue on Team selection and the team look confused. I am not sure a protest march before a big game like Arsenal will put the players in the right frame of mind. We will see but if it proves a big mistake, it will be Keen's fault??? Get a grip, there is no way you, be it 1000 or 10,000 will get him removed, so put up with it and get behind the team cheer them on to win. The nervousness of the crowd does transmit to the players. Give it 4 more games and then if no points go hell for leather but maybe the best way is very small crowds. Like Sunday 300 fans at Fulham pathetic, obviously lost interest

Yes but Matty, this is a case of having to be cruel to be kind.

Nobody is giving Kean an earthly chance except getting lucky luck (ie he isn't even smart enough to make his own luck) against Wenger, Mancini, Redknapp and Villas-Boas (and that is before you think about Walcott v Givet, City's midfield v Nzonzi effectively on his own, Bale v Salgado, or Goodwillie trying to bully Terry).

Raspberry jam for tea in the visitor's changing room afterwards?

...and a replacement manager would help, how?

After reading the club's official statement, irrespective of whether written by the Raos, Agnew or the two Hunts, I think it's almost certain that Kean will be gone within the next week and, possibly, even before Saturday.

The writing is on the wall, the pressure is mounting and it seems he's becoming increasingly isolated. I think the interview tomorrow with Kamy is from a position of weakness as he's desperate and now drinking in the last chance saloon.

I've put more money on this evening for Kean to be the next to go at just evens - very confident it will happen now.

Its a club website, not a venkys website - so yes 'OUR FANS' relates to Blackburn Rovers  Seriously some of you pick up on the most pathetic things, they are clearly concerned and listening to the fans....thats the main point to take from it.

No, it's a press release that was later published on the official website. It appeared on other sites before it appeared on the official site, which made the badly worded statement seem as if they were saying "our fans" = "Venkys fans".

Some people really don't get their facts right before crying that people are being pathetic

And of course they are concerned, wouldn't you be? It's about time really.

Kamy...Well done for getting the interview with Kean. I hope you will be able to ask him some very pointed questions on the subject of training and why the players look so obviously unfit. Why only 1 hr per day training etc. Good luck!

All I have to say is that if there's a 1000 people protesting I will eat my proverbial hat! Anyone who protests before a crucial game is an absolute moron when it could potentially spill over into the ground and affect the players.

I get the feeling some of the protesters/people on here would rather we lose badly and Kean get sacked than us actually put in a good performance and beat Arsenal at home, which we are more than capable of doing. It's a disgrace.

Put all your efforts into GETTING BEHIND YOUR TEAM rather than a totally counter productive protest. Results on the pitch will ultimately decide Keans fate, not the protest of a minority of fans! And before anyone says it - even if there is a 1000 people (which there won't be) that is still a minority in comparison to the number of season ticket holders we have.

Will you be at Ewood on Saturday ?

The fans protesting do not view their efforts as counter-productive. Neither do I. They are trying to save the Rovers, not destroy it, and, in my opinion, if they are successful in inducing the sacking of Kean they will have made a strong positive step. The shame is that Venkys has been so tone deaf they've let it get to this point, not that the fans are finally acting.

I'll be in my season ticket holders seat in the Blackburn End SUPPORTING MY TEAM Mercerman and not involving myself in a ridiculous protest.

It is possible to do both. I believe Glen choosing the timing to make sure that this was doable and I'd hope everyone, whether they protest or not, wants to get behind the team at the weekend!

The protest in Tottenham started out as a peaceful one and ended up inciting the worst riots this country has probably ever seen! I'm not suggesting this protest even comes close, what I mean is this protest may have the intention of being a peaceful one but it could quite possibly turn sour and definitely spill over into the ground and affect the players as well as people getting arrested etc

Hopefully this won't happen but trying to control a large number of people which will no doubt contain several of the emptyheads (personal opinion) who increasingly populate Ewood Park may prove difficult once people start venting their anger.

Though I despise Kean with every fiber of my being and feel he WILL get my team relegated, I must say I look upon this protest with a great deal of fear. Starting off at public house will be the first of many black marks the press will throw around. Unless Rovers fans are the most angelic bunch around and walk on air this will look bad on TV.

If Jesus had a football scarf on he would have been thrown in jail the first time he opened his mouth.

Just sack the bas**** then there's no need for any action!
