Steve Moss Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 The protest in Tottenham started out as a peaceful one and ended up inciting the worst riots this country has probably ever seen! I'm not suggesting this protest even comes close, what I mean is this protest may have the intention of being a peaceful one but it could quite possibly turn sour and definitely spill over into the ground and affect the players as well as people getting arrested etc] I agree that there is the possibility of trouble. On the other hand, I could get hit by a bus walking down the street. Doesn't stop me from exiting my door and getting a beer every now and then. If Jesus had a football scarf on he would have been thrown in jail the first time he opened his mouth. Doubtless it would be a blue and white scarf.

waggy Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 After reading the club's official statement, irrespective of whether written by the Raos, Agnew or the two Hunts, I think it's almost certain that Kean will be gone within the next week and, possibly, even before Saturday. The writing is on the wall, the pressure is mounting and it seems he's becoming increasingly isolated. I think the interview tomorrow with Kamy is from a position of weakness as he's desperate and now drinking in the last chance saloon. I've put more money on this evening for Kean to be the next to go at just evens - very confident it will happen now. no wonder you never find a poor bookie
philipl Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 ...and a replacement manager would help, how? Steve Kean is not a manager. I have seen enough to know he is totally incompetent so getting a real manager into the job would be a massive step forward. Proper training Proper tactics Proper selection Proper substitution Proper motivation Either we have signed a complete load of duds or under proper management we would find out that Rovers' proper place in the PL table is not 20th. Stuart Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Though I despise Kean with every fiber of my being and feel he WILL get my team relegated, I must say I look upon this protest with a great deal of fear. Starting off at public house will be the first of many black marks the press will throw around. Unless Rovers fans are the most angelic bunch around and walk on air this will look bad on TV. If Jesus had a football scarf on he would have been thrown in jail the first time he opened his mouth. The 'public house' is shut, reb. They are meeting on the car park as it is the mist sensible (if not the most high profile) route due to weight if traffic. As this has found its was into the national press it's now vital that it is well supported. Anything less and Kean will smirk in his next interview that he was right about it being a minority. He will then have even more backing from the owners and it will harm any future protests (or even encourage them to be more volatile). At this point it's not the march that will cause the most problems long term but apathy and doubt. March, make a short sincere speech then get behind the team for 90 minutes. Anythings else is overkill. The media will be there in force, it'll be embarrassing if the outnumber the protesters.

Simon Says Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 John Jensen just been interviewed on TalkSpoprt. Laying the blame at the feet of the players for the mess we are in. Says they have made mistakes in all games. That will help! Deluded!
PAFELL Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 All I have to say is that if there's a 1000 people protesting I will eat my proverbial hat! Anyone who protests before a crucial game is an absolute moron when it could potentially spill over into the ground and affect the players. I get the feeling some of the protesters/people on here would rather we lose badly and Kean get sacked than us actually put in a good performance and beat Arsenal at home, which we are more than capable of doing. It's a disgrace. Put all your efforts into GETTING BEHIND YOUR TEAM rather than a totally counter productive protest. Results on the pitch will ultimately decide Keans fate, not the protest of a minority of fans! And before anyone says it - even if there is a 1000 people (which there won't be) that is still a minority in comparison to the number of season ticket holders we have. YOU APPEAR NOT TO HAVE TAKEN THE TIME TO READ THE THREAD AND THE TOPIC AS A WHOLE. Those involved in the protest, who have my support, have said over and over that afterwards they will get behind the team on saturday. They are behind the team, they are supportive of the team and the club. But that does not include Kean as the manager. The protest - at the moment - is only about Kean. I cannot understand why you or others cannot see this. It has been said often enough, no protest in the ground
Ralfinho Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Havelock Inn OPEN FROM 10am ON SATURDAY!!!!! I'll be getting down at 11:15 with my 9 year old son and his banner, nice peaceful protest, 2 laps of the ground then straight into the ground and get right behind the lads!!!!!
Mattyblue Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 That is undoubtably true Jensen, but that is the hallmark of a poorly prepared and unfit team. Exhibit A- the reign of Paul Ince.

It does mean though they have heard that the supporters are not happy with the way things are. I cannot see him going before saturday, though it will be interesting to see what managers turn up to watch this game at Ewood.
Mattyblue Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Well of course the actual protest will be q minority, there's not going to be ten thouand plus people on the Havelock car park! Is there however, A groundswell of support against Kean? Of course there is! This pedantic 'err only a 1000, that's nowt', is disingenous to say the least.
PAFELL Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 John Jensen just been interviewed on TalkSpoprt. Laying the blame at the feet of the players for the mess we are in. Says they have made mistakes in all games. That will help! Deluded! That is also saying the players are not listenning or are ignoring instructions they are being given by the management.
rovers_rob Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 That is undoubtably true Jensen, but that is the hallmark of a poorly prepared and unfit team. Exhibit A- the reign of Paul Ince. I was thinking about the 13 games that Ince was in charge and you have to give Ince some credit because if we did play crap at least he would come out and admit that. Yes he used to blame the players (probably a bit to much) but he wouldn't gloss over it and talk about penalty box entries (still can't get over that one). Don't get me wrong I don't think Ince was up to the job but at least he gave an honest assessment. I have also just listened to Jensen’s interview and even though it is early and I am half asleep I don’t recall him blaming the players. He basically said we have been unlucky. Brazil was fairly soft on the questions though he didn’t really push him. One thing I did notice was Jensen openly said that Arsenal aren’t playing well and it is a good time to play them ! . Oh dear, AS IF you would say that about any team you play especially Arsenal.
Hughesy Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 That is also saying the players are not listenning or are ignoring instructions they are being given by the management. Jensen has made a mistake coming out backing the manager and blaming the players…..he just made his position unattainable when Kean gets the boot…..Good riddance. As for ‘which managers will be there on Saturday’ – probably nobody who is interested in the job as they will simply watch it on Sky, rather than cause and media frenzy.
ABBEY Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Coach with kean sat at front goes past the havelock 2 hours before kick off!

What I am saying is that it is impossible to control a large amount of people and this protest could quite easily carry on into the ground despite your best intentions. Are you really suggesting that you are going to march round singing songs like 'Kean Out' for over an hour and then just suddenly get everyone to stop when they get in the ground? If you read the early parts of this topic there were people intending the start chanting 'Kean Out' during the match. This is why I cannout see this protest ending well and this will have a detrimental affect on the performance of the team, which is all I really care about. I WANT US TO WIN! GET BEHIND YOUR TEAM!!!
brian_gallagher85 Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Jensen seems to be feeling the pressure from above with that little interview. Can Kean really come out saying he has the full support of the players after this little outburst. Hopefully the whole house of cards is about to come tumbling down.
ABBEY Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Mr magic hat , how hard is it to differentiate between support the team and wanting kean out? it be Easy

Hey brains, wake up they lose when we are behind them. 2 wins in 18 games. Talk about blind loyalty! If we don't act soon it will be to late. You caryy on with your head in the sand & leave us to try to sort it out.

Guest Rovers4Good Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Stuart Pearce is at the training ground, maybe Venkys have hired him to help give Kean some fire in his belly.

Mercer Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 I'll be in my season ticket holders seat in the Blackburn End SUPPORTING MY TEAM Mercerman and not involving myself in a ridiculous protest. Delighted you are a ST holder and that you will be there on Saturday. As to protest being ridiculous, that's a matter of opinion to which we are all entitled.
trs Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Stuart Pearce is at the training ground, maybe Venkys have hired him to help give Kean some fire in his belly. Please, please, lets not have that name mentioned in the coming days or weeks in relation to The Managers job at Rovers.
deryck guyler's spoon Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Truth hurts. Bullying and belittling stifles debate.
