DavidMailsTightPerm Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 I'm not sure all the players are/were as much behind him as some think. Samba - Bert - EHD - Kalinic - Phil Jones? Rumours admittedly, but we can't be sure that it's as happy a camp as Kean and the players say. Samba - a tough one - but for someone who obviously wants to leave - as yet hasn't really voiced any concerns about Kean - which would have been a good way to orchestrate a move Bert - always wanted to go back to Oz - didn't actually say anything negative about Kean when leaving. EHD - was never going to say anything positive about Kean Kalanic - not seen too much negative press against Kean from his camp Jones - never heard him criticise Kean - or give him as a reason for leaving (would have been an easy get out clause for a supposed Rovers fan). He is the one that I would like the press to question prior to the weekend - i.e. what do you think of the march etc. Coming from the area - and also knowing Kean, but now outside the influence of the club, his views would be interesting. On the park - the players haven't really lacked effort - though at times it hasn't been well directed tactically.

Gav Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 I'm not sure all the players are/were as much behind him as some think. Samba - Bert - EHD - Kalinic - Phil Jones? Samba - wants to move to a bigger club, not Keans fault. Jones - Tapped up and head turned no problem with Kean. Bert - Not sure on that one. EHD - not Keans fault Kalinic - Challenged in the media by Kean, had reason not to like him, showed him up. Not everything’s Keans fault den....
Mattyblue Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Players rarely will vent in public- look at all the 'We back the gaffer' headlines in the Ince reign. Became pretty clear after half an hour at Wigan that he had lost the players.
booth Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 I'm actually surprised Diouf hasn't elaborated on his departure by now.
den Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 I did say "rumours" Gav. There have been many happy squads relegated, so it's no reason at all to stick with any manager. So we're back to the beginning - results. If you get 'em, you stick with what you have. C'mon Lancy!
chris Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Link to Jensen interview audio BTW He comes across better then Kean in my opinion, ofcourse as he said the best medicine is winning. and is exepcting two wins in a row. My link
trs Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Does anyone know when we will be able to view the interview with kean today? Interview done! Coming out in a Podcast I believe.
levirover Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Interview done! Coming out in a Podcast I believe. Great thanks for the heads up
imy9 Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Northern_Rover Northern Rover Interview with Kean done, will be out as a podcast. Good interview, answered questions I put to him. Hopefully release it this evening. Northern_Rover Northern Rover @ @garym161 as a person seems genuine, treated me with respect and we talked for over 30 mins. He answered pretty much all questions. Northern_Rover Northern Rover Kean wants to have a open Q and A with fans as soon as possible.
Hughesy Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Just check the 'stick or twist' thread for info on how things may well change soon.....KEAN OUT banners needed INSIDE the ground
Billy Castell Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Sounds like those going to the game need new ink cartridges and A4 paper then.
AllRoverAsia Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Today in the UK national press: The Scot said: "There is nobody more frustrated then myself and the players because we think we have done well enough to get all three points (in games), never mind none or a point. "I am sure we will pull through, get points on the board and climb the table very quickly. "There have been a couple of frustrating results but I would not say they have been frustrating performances. I think the performances have been good." "I spoke with the owners yesterday. As always they gave me their full backing and said, 'If there is going to be a demonstration, don't worry, we're fully behind you'. "They have backed me like they always have done and I have always had a good relationship with them." Will he never learn to STFU
roversmum Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Just check the 'stick or twist' thread for info on how things may well change soon.....KEAN OUT banners needed INSIDE the ground Well, so much for encouraging and backing the players then... How can they not be distracted by that???
thenonda Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Well, so much for encouraging and backing the players then... How can they not be distracted by that??? Well lets just sit and watch the team head to the championship then....
Bluefudge Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Can someone fill in the blanks please.... I'm missing something?
OZTHEMAN Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Sounds like those going to the game need new ink cartridges and A4 paper then. I have got 2500 flyers A4 size in the back of my car 1800 with STEVE KEAN OUT!! 700 with DRINK DRIVER KEAN OUT!! The reasoning behind the second one is that he thinks he is the only one with a brain, calling a fan doughnut is inappropriate and insulting fans in a court of law by telling the jury they spiked his drink, is a bit shallow, continually lying to us how EXCELLENT the performance was well I thought let him a taste of his own medicine..those who have rarely watched football in their lives might believe him but most of us wont buy the some of worst performances seen..
DavidMailsTightPerm Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Well lets just sit and watch the team head to the championship then.... I would rather sit and support - than push !
thenonda Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 I would rather sit and support - than push ! Thats your choice, my choice is do do something doesnt mean I am wrong or not supporting the team for doing it.
chris Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 "I spoke with the owners yesterday. As always they gave me their full backing and said, 'If there is going to be a demonstration, don't worry, we're fully behind you'. Honestly this is the luckest man in football, to get a PL manager job from first team coash role, a 2 1/2 year contract and to be unsackable despite 5 wins in 25 games. Who on earth would have believed it, I'm in shock. Unsackable. John Williams would have NEVER allowed this if he was incharge.
Doogs Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Just check the 'stick or twist' thread for info on how things may well change soon.....KEAN OUT banners needed INSIDE the ground I will stick to supporting the team inside the ground, Thank you very much.
Bluefudge Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Would the last man out of Ewood please switch the light off....,......... The end is nigh..... We are the next Bradford, Leeds, Oldham, Southampton, Sheff Weds........ Etc etc
Kamy100 Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 I have did my interview with Steve Kean this afternoon, we will be releasing it as a podcast later tonight (hopefully). We talked for 35 minutes or so, he treated me with a great deal of respect, even though he knew that some of what I would be asking him would be very direct. We started off by looking at his background, then moved onto how he came to be at Rovers, talked about Big Sam and Sam's sacking. Then we explored his relationship with Venky's (going to Pune etc.), we talked about Kentaro/SEM. Then we moved onto his managerial career at Rover, how he felt to be managing Rovers, how he assembled his backroom team, I asked him to justify a 23% win record, players fitness and drop in second half performances. Second half of the interview we talked about the relationship with the fans, how he felt about fans protesting against him and what he wanted to say to the fans who don't want him as manager. Then we talked about transfers, whether owners had backed him, had he watched players we signed, why hadn't signed a big name striker, we talked Raul/Ibisevic and what the plans are for January. I also asked him about Myles Anderson. I finished of by asking Kean for a message for fans many of whom are worried about the future of the club. All in all within reason he answered the questions that I asked, I can see why people who spend time with him are impressed by him, he is a good talker and knows what he wants (as you will see from the interview). Like I said he was prepared to talk to me for over 30 minutes and he deserves credit for that. I also saw first hand that the there is absolutely nothing wrong with the team spirit at Brockhall. Someone on twitter asked me if my opinion on Kean had changed. Well on managerial ability that opinion will always be based on results, but opinion of him as a person, yes. He wants a open Q&A with fans organised by us (and was deadly serious about this) and he was willing to front up for this interview knowing that this was being done for a fansite, so deserves credit for that.
imy9 Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 During JW's time was it the trust making the decision to fire? I firmly believe that a poor result will result in Kean being fired. That being said I want a good performance and 3 points.
AggyBlue Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 I have did my interview with Steve Kean this afternoon, we will be releasing it as a podcast later tonight (hopefully). So Kamy, are you marching in protest on Saturday?
