Stuart Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 The constant applause of the team recently has kept my hands warm. Thanks for the concern though Don't get used to it. It's not concern as much as pity.

AlanK Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 I wonder how Kean would have faired working with John Williams and having the backing of the Walker trust that other managers enjoyed. It could have been so different. Sliding doors and all that. He`s burnt so many bridges with the fans now I just don`t see a way back.
bob fleming Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 How do we shift owners that will not show their face and are as stubborn as a mule? I've absolutely no idea. They don't listen to the protests, Straw, Hollern, won't speak to Sky, the LT, ignore everything the fans have told them (the FF et al and Ian Battersby) and ran away at half time at Wigan when Dave Whelan apparently told them a few home truths before the game. What is it? 170 companies they run? I bet 99% of Rovers fans think more about the club in a nights sleep than Venkys do in a week. I wonder how Kean would have faired working with John Williams and having the backing of the Walker trust that other managers enjoyed. It could have been so different. It would have been very very different. They wouldn't have listened to his Agents master plan and he wouldn't have got within a million miles of the job in the first place. Because let's be honest, that's the only reason why he is in charge, and still in charge. They were spun a cock and bull story and fell for it. Now their name is going to be dragged through the mud. In Blackburn only it would appear, no one else gives a flying chicken. Certainly not the Premier League or the FA - so long as the big clubs aren't affected it doesn't really matter.

Sysagent Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 A Day With Steve Kean More media propaganda...
Majiball Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 I like this quote: 'He says he’s always had to “hunt” for a career in football' I'm sure Sam could testify to that.
John Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 A Day With Steve Kean Touching, emotional and I am just glad he had the "press officer" by his side. I don't think anyone on this planet has every shown so much dignity and humility - from being sacked as assistant manager at Coventry, nearly sacked at Fulham, Kean and his agent deserve this chance.
Stuart Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 I like this quote: 'He says he’s always had to “hunt” for a career in football' I'm sure Sam could testify to that. Cheers for clarifying. I thought it was a typo.
Sparky Marky Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 More evidence Steve is a nice guy. And also more evidence that you're either deluded ork a wind up merchant .

Didn't you hear JA's response on Sky when asked if he was involved in Kean getting the job - "he was already a member of staff at the club" Conclusive answer Also having known them prior to the takeover and helping them buy a EPL club, who do you think recommended to Kean that you have to do face to face meetings with the Rao family? Hence all his trips to India - as the great man said, he took it upon himself to make all these visits including making one shortly after Sam was sacked.

On a more serious note, it does make you wonder if he thinks football "owes him" and he'll take every "opportunity" he can. Failed player, failed assistant manager, failing manager. Seeming successful coach. When you find something you are good at and you can make an honest living out of it, it'd make sense to stick to it. One day Aesop will write a story about Kean.

I dunno about "honest living" but he won't get a premiership managerial post again so he might as well milk it for all its worth. He'll look back from the deck of his Spanish villa at what we called him and laugh his socks off. He can't lose.
gumboots Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 the line about being in the Ribble valley, a fair way from Ewood made me laugh. do they think all rovers fans live in Blackburn? He is as disliked here in the Ribble Valley as anywhere else where rovers fans are found.
Majiball Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 More evidence Steve is a nice guy. so if someone tells you they are a good person you believe them? Actions and words.
Andy Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 More evidence Steve is an absolute bell-end. There, fixed for you.
frosty Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 because others are with him, and among the 500 letters the club receive each day from roving Rovers fans all over the world, the vast bulk pass on encouragment and good wishes  Deary me.
RibbleValleyRover Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 I will say this you have to feel sorry for his postman having to deliver 3000 love letters to Kean every week.
thenodrog Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 A Day With Steve Kean This alone should be rewarded with an extra few laps of the pitch FOR ALL senior players "the first player I recognise, the midfielder David Dunn, who breaks off from a phonecall in his training kit to say hello." A bloody phones in his tracksuit pocket ffs! No excuse for that is there 1. It's a distraction. and 2. It would be safe left in the changing rooms.... Jon Walters left years ago!

Shows how ot of touch you ar,e Gordon. Young and not so young people are now so attached to their phones that they don't go anywhere without them. They take them in the bathroom, to bed and everywhere. A training field is certainly not somewhere they'd go without them - they carry their entire lives around on them. I once had a friend who lost her phone say that she wouldn't be able to go anywhere or do anything because she had absolutely everything on her phone. I've even had parents in the middle of discussing their child in school take out a phone and, without a word of apology, answer the call. So how Kean is mean to stop players taking them onto the training pitch, I don't know.

You tell that to the people laid off by the Bakery as a result
Amo Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 The man can't keep his bald, smug head out of the limelight. Seriously, have we ever had such a media whore for manager? It wouldn't be so bad if he wasn't such a total clown shoes who wasn't just out for sympathy votes.
