Would the last man out of Ewood please switch the light off....,.........

The end is nigh.....

We are the next Bradford, Leeds, Oldham, Southampton, Sheff Weds........ Etc etc

That's not the end, that's just relegation. 4 good solid traditional football clubs and Leeds you mentioned above.

All in all within reason he answered the questions that I asked, I can see why people who spend time with him are impressed by him, he is a blagger and knows what he wants (as you will see from the interview).

Corrected.

Please stop spouting this 2 wins in 18 games, its a true statistic but one that doesn't take everything into account. The guy has been given a full pre-season by Venkys to assemble his squad which is now complete and after one game of that you are calling for his head when we actually got a credible away result.

I do not have my head in the sand I too am becoming increasingly frustrated with Kean but am simply calling for him to be given a bit more than 4 games to prove him and his squad are capable of winning Premier League games.

I agree with peoples right to protest but I think it seems ridiculous to do it before a game and especially ridiculous considering there were serious plans for it to involve the Jack Walker statue, small children laying flowers, poems and a minutes silence. I am entitled to that opinion.

And less of the belittling insults pal, just because I don't share your opinion.

is it not 2 wins in 19 now after fulham.................that is truly crap, and i ain't interested in listening to excuses for failure as that is 1st sign of a loser which we undoubtedly have in charge. 2 wins in half a season, you simply have to laugh at the sheer crapness as being angry was 4 games ago.

Make no mistake once more, this Evil sod is going to turn fans against fans...just you watch.

Someone on twitter asked me if my opinion on Kean had changed. Well on managerial ability that opinion will always be based on results, but opinion of him as a person, yes. He wants a open Q&A with fans organised by us (and was deadly serious about this) and he was willing to front up for this interview knowing that this was being done for a fansite, so deserves credit for that.

I expected your opinion to change, I think being a Rovers supporter makes you quite easily infleuenced, it was a tough job for a fan even if you are experienced in football journo.

I look forward to hearing the interview. I wonder if you were talking to a clever politician or his answers we straight and honest this time.

There you go my friend, something to cling to. Unless someone actually threatened the very existence of the club, then there is always a silver lining.

On Kean, i am still on the view point that he is currently not up to it, and the interview he has done today would have helped him no end if he had done it in May/June. Basically Venkys next decision could define their entire tenure. Sack him and replace him with some dross (if it's Pearce i will be having my own one man protest at his first game) and we are done for. Sack him and appoint a knight in shining armour, they become heroes. Or alternatively Kean stays and takes them down with him or turns the show around and they look like visionaries.

I actually think the easiest decision for them now is to pot Kean and gain easy brownie points with our good selves.

They are, but why should we drop to such a level, when it is totally avoidable?

Oh i agree 100%, you fight with every last breath in your body to stay in this league. Always strive for the best, but the end is not nigh.

Speedie dived,

I love Rovers, for much of my life like many others I have placed them above my loved ones for attending a match.

I do not have the same feeling for our owners, they I'm sure will go long before my love affair dies.

That my friend is what I cling to. Kean WILL leave, and hopefully not a time of his choosing!!

His reign has been a low point in our history, but there are many brighter, happier days ahead.

Arte et Labore...... I would bet Venkys don't even know what that means.

No it is statements like that - that will turn fans against fans. Have you ever met the guy to be able to judge whether he is "evil" as you put it.

I am quite happy for people to beat him up with statistics - but the personal stuff is really uncalled for.

I think it shows how anti-Kean some peoples views are - that when he gives a reasonable interview to Kamy - it is because he has managed to some how pull the wool over Kamy's eyes.

I don't like what is happening at our club at the moment - but people's prejudice against Kean is getting unbelievable.

It's a horrendous situation, a clean break really is needed.

I think you are right, Venkys will have no idea what it means. And again, agree the whole Kean episode from appointment to results, has been shambolic.

I would not put any type of money on any of the parties at Ewood being there this time next year, owners, managers, etc.

Just think Venkys have a massive decision in front of them now, and that decision will shape their future and the way we view them throughout their ownership.

Guys listen to the podcast first. I asked questions he answered them and I probed on some of his answers.

There was no pulling wool over my eyes or bring star struck, literally we just talked, yes there was buzz words but there were times he answered questions on stuff that wasn't previously in the public domain.

Ultimately as fans we judge mamager's on results, and in that respect of course people are rightly very concerned, but take this on face value, kean/the club making efforts to talk directly to fans.

Respect that you say you have changed your view about Kean as a person.

But also agree, football is a result based business. Kean has to be judged only on the results of the team he is managing.

He could have the best personality a person could have. But a good personality will not win football matches. Kean has to go because the results on the pitch speak volumes.

More than happy to hear what he has to say in the interview. And if he fronts up to a fans forum then you cannot knock him for that. Can i ask Kamy, did he ask you if you were marching in the protest?

OK DMTP,

I acknowledge that perhaps evil was the wrong expression to use but I find what he/venky's have done to this club and its supporters is totally unforgivable. To witness the mass hurt and angst not just on this meassage board but to all Rovers fans I come into contact with is awful, this club has been put back years both on and off the field of play, our proud name dragged through the mud.

You only have to read this thread to realise fans HAVE been turned against fellow fans...what a situation we are in! :(

I will reserve final judgement until I listen to the interview. But based on statistics, he's gone no matter how great a person he is.

And keep in mind that in person Kean apparently comes across as a decent guys. Does not mean he is a decent guy, only that he can appear as one. On that point we should take into account:

1. Rumors regarding his role in doing in Sam (as rumors, low weight).

2. Rumors as to his financial advantage in selling off the highly rated Rovers players (again, rumors, low weight).

3. His past treatment of fans, including the implication that someone spiked his drink (medium weight, as it is only an implication).

4. The Judge's comments at the end of Kean's case, a professional who had more time with Kean, supported by his attorney, than did Kamy (in my opinion, a lot of wieght).

5. Kean's treatment of the fans todate (subjective, I think medium weight).

6. Kean's need to visit with the owners monthly to give them the 'personal' touch, which in my opinion indicates a man who cannot survive on the merits of his objective record and has to charm his way to survival. Medium weight as there may be more to it than what I am assuming.

7. His contradictory press statements (low weight, as he may have been decieved by the owners).

All said, there are more questions regarding his real character as opposed to his public persona. Whether he is a "chancer" or not requires each person to evaluate on their own but I know where I fall.

Ultimately as fans we judge mamager's on results, and in that respect of course people are rightly very concerned, but take this on face value, kean/the club making efforts to talk directly to fans.

An effort which originated only when his back is against the wall, so I would not read too much into it. It sounds to me to be a bit of a Hail Mary pass.

I have got 2500 flyers A4 size in the back of my car 1800 with STEVE KEAN OUT!! 700 with DRINK DRIVER KEAN OUT!! :wstu:

The reasoning behind the second one is that he thinks he is the only one with a brain, calling a fan doughnut is inappropriate and insulting fans in a court of law by telling the jury they spiked his drink, is a bit shallow, continually lying to us how EXCELLENT the performance was well I thought let him a taste of his own medicine..those who have rarely watched football in their lives might believe him but most of us wont buy the some of worst performances seen..

cough* *Witch hunt* *cough*

If the fan was being a doughnut, then why can't he can call him one? I've heard well respected managers criticise entire sections of their own fans before. Also, when did he say that fans spiked his drink? As far as I understand from what I've read of his version of events, he was talking to fans in a pub, where he believes his drink may have spiked. Were only rovers fans allowed in this pub? No.

I'm certainly not pro-Kean and have voted 'sack' above as I don't think he should ever have been appointed and I also don't think he's the man to turn it around (that doesn't mean I've totally written him off yet). However, the hysteria and utter nonsense coming out of some people on this forum is amazing. The protest is a stupid idea that just breeds more negativity around the whole club. From comments I've seen (not on this forum), there will be a significant number of yobs (for want of a less right wing tabloid term) in attendance and the whole feeling from the protest is ultimately going to affect the match. How do you think it will affect the players knowing that the man they are playing for and who's tactics they are following is the victim of so much animosity, from which some seem to getting a kind of sick pleasure? I certainly doubt it will help. The only way it could help is if it drives the players on to win for their manager - but this will simply prolong his spell at the club.

In some ways it would be better to protest in the ground if things went badly in the game. To do it just before a game to me seems wrong.

I know you are having a laugh there but I had a similar change of mind a while back due to finding out the effort that he was putting into the club (which made Nicko's pro-Kean views make sense), but as Kamy said statistics don't lie and I will judge him on that. He may be a nice fellow, but so are my mates and I wouldn't want them in charge of BRFC either.

I understand how effort can change a view on people and I fully appreciate the fact that he is putting in the effort. However, I can be given a job as a pole dancer in a strip bar and no matter how much effort I put in men are still not going to put money in my thong.

If the team are 100% behind him and the owners are 100% behind him and he is still managing results like these then God must be royally ###### at him.

Tick-tock-tick-tock.

Give him till the end of the season...

Give him till he gets a whole preseason under his belt...

Give him till the window...

Give him till the end of the window...

Give him till the new players bed down...

Tick-tock-tick-tock.

When the bells toll for that man, it will be just after midnight for our club.
