Another 'poor Stevie' double page interview, this time in today's Times. An interview with Glen Mullan as well.

The jist (as it's not online, if you don't pay)

He has a seventh dan in karate bodyguard

Most of the fans are behind him

usual rollocks about tough Catholic upbringing in Protestsnt side of Glasgow

He is a 'shy man'

Bolton hurt, thankfully his kiddies were not there.

His family are planning to move back here (odd, because a paragraph earlier he was saying how he is glad they are away from the abuse)

The actual football is not mentioned, AT ALL.

However, the journo (Matthew Syed) gets a few digs in about 'self delusion' and how the judge didn't believe his 'spiked' story.

I didn’t think it was possible to hate a person more than I hate Kean, but after reading that cr@p I hate him even more! His PR man Agnew must be really proud of him, between them they’re doing a right number on the fans

I can't believe how much we have been made out to be the bad guys! It's like a bloody soap where the innocent person gets blamed and the guilty stand across the room smirking at them!

Look at the Arsenal fans now, Arsene has to go blah blah.. Get a ###### grip! Who do they think they are? Yet the media support them!!! Its unbelievable and it makes my blood boil!

Seriously, Steve Kean will need that bodyguard if we go down this season. A Rovers fan who cares passionately about the club will end up attacking him! There will be so much anger and hate towards him and Venkys!

The Kean interview wasn't aimed at Rovers fans, it was aimed at the wider football watching public, to gain "sympathy" for his plight. Judging by the comments at the bottom of the article below it had the desired effect:

Kean Needs A Bodyguard

A lesser man would have walked away long ago. It's the owners who are who are dragging this famous old club down, not Steve Kean, he's had little support (apart from his players) and no luck at all.

I don't think people realize that if it wasn't for Venky's, Steve Kean would never be a PL manager in the first place.

It's an easy one to counter.

Simply ask "Would you want him as your manager?".

Usually shuts people up with their faux-horror.

Ah yeah, but they're usually glory-supporters who know they deserve better.

Rovers have to settle for the likes of Kean.

Im just sick off the media printing and symphaphising with everything kean and his agent says without questioning any of it or seeking an opinion from the actual fans hes having a go at, its just wrong.

andy cryer gets a lot of stick but at least he tries to give a fair unbiased assesment of things, so fair play to him, but the rest i believe are just on the take from agents to write what they are told.

Yes, so the real truth is he needs a driver more than a bodyguard. The driver was needed ages ago before the aggro and when he started gettin a bit of stick the driver happended to mention he used to do a bit of karate back in the day. That sounds more like it before it's been thru the Kean spin machine that is lol

+1

You could stretch that to "do you want the Raos, Kean and Anderson running your club?" How many fans in the whole of England the world, would take that?

Personally think this was trying to deflect what Graham Jones MP said recently. Whenever something hits the press that they feel is close to the truth the SEM machine starts rolling again, seems their using wife and children as human shields is quite effective as its been used a lot recently.

It's just so cynical and obvious though. Sickening.

This is the reason I'll never feel sorry for Kean. What kind of a bloke puts his wife and kids in the media to deflect the negative attention? And everyone buys it.

Maybe he needs a bodyguard to protect him from the stalker who won't stop sending him 500 love letters every day?

Yeah it is so obvious to us, but with the tentacles of SEM sprawling over sports reporters with scoops of insider info, they are only glad to run this bullshit to keep the exclusives coming. That's why it's important to try and inform anybody reading articles via comments etc like the one on yahoo with a few home truths rather than the bull that's in the article.

Tweet from glen mullan‏@glen9mullan

P,Jones, Nelsen, Samba, Salgado,Roberts, Andrews, Diouf, Benjani, Kalinic, Emerton If we still had these playing we wnt be facing relegation

And what has Coco done:

Salgado - replaced by Ribeiro & Orr

P,Jones, Nelsen, Samba - replaced by Anderson & Dann

Andrews, Diouf, Emerton - replaced by Rochina, Formica, Petrovic, Simon & Marcus Olsson

Roberts, Benjani, Kalinic - replaced by Yak, Goodwillie, Slew & Modeste

Says it all really. Just one successful permanent signing out of 12 and only two who start on a regular basis (Dann & Yak).

So why the feck doesn't he just keep his gob shut !?!?

Drives me crazy!!!! :angry2:

Its been reasonably quiet in relation to the "Kean out" chanting at the last few home games then he comes out with this..

Does he want the fans behind him???? (Not that I want him here BTW)

Good God Man!!
