  1. 1. Should Steve Kean be sacked

venkys mole? surley I would just just say "BAWK!"???

Anyone seen that awful film the mist? reminds a lot of the state of this board recently

Moles make a kind of breathy squeak actually, and they are also pretty much blind.

Hmmmmm.

About The Mist - Trapped in a supermarket by large things with tentacles and large nasty insects?

Or about people gravitating to the soft sedentary solution?

I feel that if you were trying to drag a comparison to that movie kicking and screaming into a debate I would go with - one side on here thinks we should just read from the Gospel of Kean and stay put, and we have another bunch willing to risk the wilds of the outside and be proactive.

Either way the chance of monumental damage is high.

They're going to walk approx one mile, sing "Kean Out!",walk round the ground then go inside and support the team.

Care to explain how that compares to The Venkys who continue to employ a manager with a diabolical results record, who on their watch have seen every experienced senior exec be replaced with nobodies, make no comment regarding claims of outrageous payments to Agents, continue to take all their advise from Agents, made a profit in the last transfer window despite statements in the press by the manager that we had a very healthy and competitive budget, fail to attend home matches, insist on the manager flying to Pune every four weeks for some ridiculous reason (honestly, what for? They admit to not having a clue, what are they bringing to the party?), messed about nigh on everyone in the last transfer window and make the likelihood of attracting any other manager to the post with a shred of dignity highly unlikely?

Just asking.

At least they released a couple of nice kits Bob we have to give them that, both look great.

Also, coming out with utterly stupid comments does not help his case...

This in particular has got on my nerves, so much so that I cannot bare to even watch his sniggering little face anymore and haven't watched a post match interview from him in almost 6 months. Some of his "stats" that have been reported of late aren't even laughable anymore...

why they got becks, ronny etc in the papers apart from publicity? how they expect champions league and havent spent(city ,liverpool etc ) 100s of millions of pounds? what qualifications have they got in football knowledge to tell us how to support our team? why brew boy was promoted to manager apart form bum licking? why KFC is the best food on the planet?

I cant believe people on here sometimes, the old saying in football is that it's a result business he has'nt got the results, how is that complicated?

Were we wrong to sack Ince? would we still be in the Premier league if he had'nt been sacked? This situation is the exact same, he is not good enough to manage a premier league team because he lacks experience and it shows.

Plenty of people are just using his personal life and missgiving to justify his sacking and others are jumping on the bandwagon but they really dont need to, in his time as Rovers manager he has'nt done good enough, do you guys think that if were in the top four with good displays to boot any of this ITK information would matter to anyone.

Maybe Oliver Holt was right and Ince was sacked because of his color and now we have a Scottish predjudice or maybe they just cant cut the mustard at the top level for me it's not hard to understand.

This just gets worse. After all the things that have been said, I'm truly beginning to wonder about the motives of some. It seems to be going way beyond wanting a change of Manager. It's nasty, really nasty and not necessary.

Believe me roversmum, things were far more vitriolic in the 70's with Jim Iley and the 80's with Bob Saxton. On both occasions the chairman and directors opted to stand by their manager until fan power forced them to swing the axe. As regards Glen, I don't know if he has a smoking gun or not but for the sake of the club it's better if everything is out in the open at an early stage rather than having months of rumour enveloping the club.

Sadly, our owners are finding out the hard way that owning a football club is not a walk in the park. The buck stops at the top and that's Mrs. Desai and her brothers. They need to appoint some old hands to steady the ship both on and off the field. The saddest thing is that we already had those kind of people and opted to get rid of them.

The fact that the owners have spent very little time in Blackburn and made no attempt to get to know the people of the town has not helped them. Their PR has been dreadful and putting Samba up to ask for support, when the player has spent the best part of the previous twelve months looking to get away, just shows how amateurish and desperate it has all become.

Many of us have seen darker days than these at Ewood Park but I suspect that the present situation is the one that will probably do the most lasting damage.

Apart from the appalling results that the manager has to his name, the moment he opted not to apologise for the drink driving episode and attempted to wriggle out of it was the moment that the owners should have parted company. In sticking with Kean they have ensured that any protests against the manager will also, directly or indirectly, throw mud in their direction.

The Rao family may well be decent and honourable people. Not having met them I couldn't comment. However, they are being judged, rather like Steve Kean, on their ability to manage a football club and at the moment they are not covering themselves with glory.

Venkys record in running the club is as disastrous as Kean's record in managing the team. The outcome (freefall) will depend on when Venkys realise their error in appointing Kean AND attempt to reverse the damage done to the club. Perhaps we need two marches.

How would people feel if we got a result on Satday?

Interested to know whether some people would give him a bit more time if we won or got a deserved draw.

I think a lot of people would be happy if things started to turn around but I feel some people just want a head on a pike.

A draw would leave us with 2 points out of 15 so , deserved or not, at this stage it is just not good enough. Kean's problem is that he needs three or four wins in succession to start winning over public opinion. If we beat Arsenal he will get a stay of execution but in my opinion it would be just prolonging the agony - like Avram Grant last season he gives every impression of being a dead man walking. By the way, a 6-0 defeat is a result, albeit a bad one.

He needs to win on Sat then have an unbeaten run of 7-8 games (winning at least 4) to give me any faith he can turn it round.

I'd still rather he went now though as I just can't see it.

I have met them both out on an evening out too, on the prowl - to be fair, they were more than nice to chat to.

However, this is not about being nice or talking a good game, it is about being an appropriate manager of our football club.

And here's another footballing reason why you are right---his transfer dealings. From last season we have lost Jones, Jones,Emerton and Diouf------all players with great defensive skills, all players you need in a scrap.Who are their replacements?

Outside the back 4 we have nobody who tracks back, nobody who can put a foot in and break up play and no-one who can rattle a bone or two when it is needed.

The only exception would be Olsson up-front attacking, but still protecting Givet-----except he never plays there!!

Nobody protects a totally exposed Salgado who now looks a shadow of the player he was last season.

No-one in the middle protects the two central defenders and that's why we were on the backfoot all second half against Fulham.

Instead we have ligtweight players who could play attractive attacking football if only the other side would step back and let them. All assembled on the cheap, all untried at this level and, sadly, looking out of their depth.

To illustrate the depths to which we have sunk, we are now left hoping and praying that GRELLA of all people can somehow rise Lazurus-like to take his place in the team! That says it all------he was never very good to start with.

So there we are, no insults, no name-calling.

This is basic football common-sense but its beyond the manager who will continue to blame ill-luck into infinity.

Out of the frying pan into the fire as far as agents go, and maybe managers if Hughes isnt interested http://www.blackburn.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=254752

Just for the record.

All the talk is Kean out and only talk of Hughes in. If Hughes doesnt want in then who in and when. Perhaps completely rudderless for a few months or two as decisions are made in Pune. and then no guarantee of anyone better . Oh I forgot. Maradonna. Demo before an important game is a bit like wearing your underpants outside your jeans. I am not happy with Kean but as the Espn blog said a few more games with his team is something that makes more sense to me. Unfortunately mob mentality has taken over and we have sacrificed the strategy for a tactic. Be careful what you wish for.

Who cares? Kean is the worst manager Rovers have ever had. The next one is very, very unlikely to be worse. If they are, then at least we have their novelty to distract us for a moment.

The people saying posters on here should name their chosen successor are a joke. we have won 2 games out of 18 in the league for crying out loud! 2 in 18!!! Some are suggesting that ditching Kean for Dave Jones would be a disaster. I'm not advocating for Jones but seriously...it would be a colossal improvement on what we currently have.

Times like these show which posters have a grasp on reality, and which posters should generally be put in the "not the brightest" category.

2 wins in 18 league games.

How could there be a discussion?

KEAN OUT.
