  1. 1. Should Steve Kean be sacked

Recommended Posts

i can honestly say i believe and dont slate me for saying this but i truly believe that kean will be the manager of a big club one day like real madrid or barcelona and will win back to back la liga titles, champions leagues and in a few years people will say,'remember how it all started for kean? those dreadful blackburn rovers fans doubted him and heckled him at every turn and now at look at him, i think his career has now been justified'.

I'm selling these fine leather jackets...

Clean sheet today!! Give this man a new contract!!

Be careful what you wish for.

If our halfwit friends in Pune read that, they'll probably take it as fans backing Kean and give him another new contract.

Great win today and good performance on the only day of this season where Kean can lay claim to being the most experienced 'manager' in either dugout.

But it changes nothing. Kean is a moron, a weasel and is unbelievably incompetent at doing his job.

If we stay up, it's in spite of Kean, not because of him.

Fair play to kean today. He identified weaknesses of wolves and exploited them - played a lot of pacy players which was a good move.

Regardless of whether we stay up or not, big changes are needed in the summer and that includes the exits of kean and Venky's.

Agreed with the above- will it happen though?

Enjoyed the victory today, sweeter considering we have not won much this season. Be interesting to see how we have performed with Black as number 2.

Very difficult to tell with Venky's. They will definitely have offers for the club. My feeling is still that they will sell but keep a stake in the club and concentrate on developing football in India possibly with kean heading up a rovers academy.

One thing for certain is if Venky's keep full control they will keep kean as manager. Interesting times ahead...

If somehow we survive this season I am prepared to give Kean another chance because with the lack of resources from the owners he probably will have deserved it. It's still a big IF at present though.

I wouldn't want kean here for another season but I agree Venky's are the real villains. It's now looking like a good decision to stick with kean rather than change manager. It's quite ironic we were all calling for Hughes to replace kean as manager and Hughes has been woeful so far.

You are on the windup james, shirley?

We stay up and he gets little to spend, he is somehow going to get us improving next season?

I fully expect him to be here, but he deserves nowt.

Always happens after a win, Matty. The europhoria will have worn off by Monday.

No Kean would have to turn things around and basically not lose a game for the rest of the season and most of the games to be wins rather than draws to have an ounce of faith that he has any ability. (I said this about this time last season and he didnt achieve it and the sad thing is he is still here)

We cant have this mess on and off the field its not on. one or the other is bad enough. New owners which will bring a new manager ideally if not I could just about bare Venkys with a decent solid experienced honest manger for the near future.

If Kean and Venkys double team remain I fully expect next season to be as bad as this and going to rovers will remain a chore rather than an enjoyable past time that has ran though my family for generations.

A corker from The Observer's match report:

That was the way of it for the most part, thud and blunder, and the home crowd became increasingly disgruntled. The Blackburn fans, as is their habit, chanted the name of their late benefactor, Jack Walker, rather than saluting Kean, which is beginning to seem a mite unfair.

It's amazing that pundits and journos who are paid to discuss and/or have played the game are so short sighted/ignorant, whilst your 'fickle fan' can actually see the big picture and not look at things on a game by game basis.

I was talking to someone today, who loves to wind me up about Kean, and said "Well, he's got to learn somewhere." Even though I know he was taking the ######, that's how the media see it. Apparently the club is here for Steve Kean's convenience and not the other way around.
