  1. 1. Should Steve Kean be sacked

Recommended Posts

Kean still claims he has the support of the majority. Although no number has been said about how many letters and emails of support he gets.

He said: “I meet fans around the village where I live, and near the training ground and I take lots of letters and emails from fans giving their support.

“There has been a bit of negativity towards me from a small element but we have made sure every fan travelled home happy from Wolves."

I believe him as much as I believed Allardyce's blame everybody else interviews. I never listen to anybody in the sport. It's pointless. I make my mind up with the effort shown by those on the pitch, the football played, the set up of the team and a realistic expectation of all those things considered. He's deluding himself with regards to percentage of support. He may just be surrounded by sane people and not the likes of people who post here and live their life only to back this cause because they've nothing else doing and are loving the limelight, but it hardly matters what he thinks about that or what anybody thinks about that. What matters is where we end up.

If people are looking for what Blackburn Rovers can't provide, or if they are that disgusted with recent events, just don't come.

Believe it or not, there are still people who believe Kean's doing a good job. To quote from The Guardian's blog for the game on Saturday:

to slate the manager, who has us playing the most attractive goal scoring and creative football in years is totally unfair.

Unbelievable.

But we have been dead certs to go down since he took over. We have yet to be relegated. He's had a very difficult job and gets very little credit, none at all from some.

We have yet to be relegated because the season is still far from over and our fellow strugglers are just as bad as we are. Relegation remains a very real possibility.

I acknowledge that in itself his job is very difficult. Yet he is a constituent part of the wider chaos that is engulfing the club. If he were some honest pro coming in to do a job, holding his hands up at the enormity of the task and the unenviable conditions under which he is operating I believe that he would have received more slack. Instead he is a willing toadie of a despised regime, grasping his opportunity (an opportunity he clearly believes is owed to him) unquestioningly, all while failing to acknowledge that there is even a hint of a problem and painting those that do as a crazed fringe element.

They may be in for a bit of a shock next season (if we stay up) - most of Kean's best performances have come when Hoilett has played well - what will happen next season if Hoilett goes.

As happy as I feel following a good away win - nothing can get away from the fact - in a different season we would be as good as relegated by now. Kean (and Rovers) have been extremely lucky that there have been so many other teams with low points totals this year.

I'll bite, even if your trollin' has the subtlety of a sledgehammer.

Credit for what? At best, he'll save us from the same relegation dogfight he dragged us into in the first place. Give that guy a medal!

Thats firmly tongue in cheek I guess Braddock, you're not really giving that lying sod any credit are you?

Difficult? He's got the job of his dreams.

Nomark promoted to manager of a PL club, no pressure to get results from the owners or media, just those pesky fans, who's he's seen off now anyway.

Driver and new £1million contract included. Where can one get hold of these 'difficult jobs?'

I dont go anymore, after over 50 years its a wrench, but having liars as both owners and manager, not to mention the situation we have had to endure, this is not our club anymore, odd game apart, the football has been dire, most of our experienced pros (the ones who have seen through the muppet of a manager) have now left or dont play!!

Why bother at all. Give up.

Take Tony Nicklinson's lead.

He'll be excited to have the job of course.

But to say he's had no pressure is ridiculous. Even if he's had none from the owners (which I doubt, though I was surprised to see him still in charge after the first mass booing/kean out/banner and flag show at Ewood) he was ridiculed by the press for quite some time, especially fatty's chums. They've come round though, because looking in you can see the players still play for him, people can see we play some nice football at times (N'Zonzi has started passing forward - we've got Hoilett running with the ball as opposed to jumping for it - he's brought in some quality with Yakubu in front of goal) and he has acted with dignity where it has mattered.

I can understand the complaints against Venky's, but against Kean, a man who everyone says is absolutely terrible, he's doing a great job to keep us out of the relegation zone when it matters (thus far). As for what he says, did you ever listen to the tripe Allardyce came out with. He was as much as propaganda machine as Kean.

He just can't help himself

The vast majority of football fans are fickle; if Kean is genuinely getting support from fans now then I am not surprised.

How they can back a manager that for the second season in a row has us fighting a relegation battle is beyond me, and that's not considering his highly questionable off the field behaviour.

There's so much wrong here I wouldn't know where to start. More power to whoever decides to humour you and give your 'arguments' the credibility they do not deserve. There really is no point when you're on the wind up. Every post of yours within the last hour or so has been designed to get people's backs up. Even your very avatar is a big 'F___ YOU' to the fans on this site.

Must be a fun life you lead.

To be fair, there's the odd Dingle knocking around Whalley... sure they give him plenty of support.

He's explained the avatar before, remember?

'it is akin to rattling to bars of the cages at the zoo'.

So, like last season 17th is now a sign of Kean doing a good job?

Haven't we rapidly fallen from the days a 10th place finish was derided by some on here for not being exciting enough.

He's doing a great job for a man with no experience, apparently sub zero money and shocking fans, yes.

Do you disagree on that point?

Far more fun than sucuumbing to unneccesary pessimism.

And yes, my avatar is just rattling the cages at the zoo.

Only the subspecies rattle back though.

No, he is doing exactly the job I would expect for a man parachuted into his first managerial job in he PL- a pi$$ poor one.

On the 'shocking' fans, well you just ruin every post you make with such nonsense. Have at look at Wolves and their 'Scouse Mafia', player punching fans.

You can't even spell the words.

But hey ho, like I said, at least you admit you're a troll. Whether the mods have the good sense to do something about that, one can only wonder.

Well that's fantastic. You're going with two wrongs make a right are you?

Nice argument.

Of course the Wolves fans are stupid to respond in such a way. They are frustrated but if they had half a brain they'd get behind the team during the match, regardless of off field dramas. At least for them it's still raw I guess, but moronic all the same. When they were booing during the game against us I knew they weren't going to come back. They players haven't got long to adjust to the hostile environment and then start clawing back some points.

Blackburn boo boys are shocking. Wolves boo boys are moronic but still raw so they get a little bit of leeway. It won't take them long to realise what's needed of them though.

You can't even spell the words.

Typing at work.

Obviously typos negates all my arguments.

Where I make mistakes in spelling, you make mistakes when it comes to defining words. Please look up troll. Having an avatar that is in no way offensive and something I never discuss unless people raise it is not trolling. Someone had an avatar of Grabbi. That's worse.

You will NEVER EVER get football fans to react any other way, that's just how it is, however distatseful you find it.

The Man City game, Bolton game reactions were not organised, just a spontaneous reaction. If you haven't worked that out yet, you are following the wrong sport.
