braddock Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 "This season isn't about salvaging something, we've got the players to be in the top 10". Steve Kean November 2011 Kean was wrong. Allardyce said Rovers had greater talent than Bolton when he took over so he would be playing less route one with us. He lied. Allardyce said he was good enough to manage Real. He was wrong. I don't think he lied though. I think he believes it.
Mattyblue Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 What has allardyce got to do with it? This is what Kean said about our current squad this current season.
braddock Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 What has allardyce got to do with it? This is what Kean said about our current squad this current season. Yes, and he was wrong. He's not the only manager to say things that never lead to fruition.
Mattyblue Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 He kept us in the league last year 'against all odds' and he's on course to do it again. I think that's evidence enough. You are creating your own reality there. It wasn't 'against all odds' in the slighest, we had plenty of points on the board when he took over and he brought in 4 players in the January, for us to almost go down was 'against all odds', Keano nearly managed it though.
Exiled in Toronto Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Unlucky. Next!!! We had well over 500 games, which is 12 or so seasons, of winning football from three top managers - amazing really.

Against all odds was this message boards belief. hence why I put the marks in. It's the doomsdayers who have changed the goalposts since they realised they'd underestimated him. Could prove to be the case again this season.
Backroom DE. Posted March 12, 2012 Backroom Posted March 12, 2012 He kept us in the league last year 'against all odds' and he's on course to do it again. I think that's evidence enough. He took a team on course for mid table and nearly relegated it. He stayed up on the basis of points acculminated before he arrived. This season if we do stay up it will be on the basis of there being 3 teams collectively poorer than the premier league has ever seen. In a normal season we would be staring down the barrell of relegation right now. That's the bare truth. Choose to spin it if you wish.
Mattyblue Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Against all odds was this message boards belief. hence why I put the marks in. Who's? It would have been incredible for us to go down from where we were in January.
braddock Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Who's? It would have been incredible for us to go down from where we were in January. Have you forgotten what this messageboard was like last season already? It's been Armageddon since last Spring.
Mattyblue Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 I know, I know Toppers, it's something to do before the Arse game, though aint it. Corrie's on but they are dragging this Frank storyline on too long already...
Stuart Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Against all odds was this message boards belief. hence why I put the marks in. It's the doomsdayers who have changed the goalposts since they realised they'd underestimated him. Could prove to be the case again this season. In what way have people underestimated him? I know he's broken several records as Rovers manager, some of those records will probably never be broken and a legacy we will probably forever enjoy. But I'm struggling to understand how he has been underestimated. We all knew how bad he was, he almost single handedly relegated a side with Phil Jones, Jermaine Jones, Hoilett, Samba, Nelsen; he took us to our worst start to a league season (ever); bottom at Christmas; and a no-clean-sheet record. Was there one of those records you hadn't expected or were surprised by? You complain that people don't debate points with you but you don't have any coherent argument for Kean being a competent Premier League manager, aside from failing to get us relegated. You insist on having an avatar which you know will wind people up - and you are probably pissing yourself laughing at the responses you are getting. You only pipe up when we win a match and are as agile at spin as Kean himself. Then you sit back and cry foul when people call you a WUM. There is no dressing it up, this basically describes your M.O. you, doesn't it... http://m.urbandictionary.com/#define?term=troll
Athlete Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 He kept us in the league last year 'against all odds' and he's on course to do it again. I think that's evidence enough. the senior players kept us up not that clown..
LeChuck Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Whatever the reason, surely we can all agree that we stayed up last season in spite of Kean's managerial ability, not because of.
Amo Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Whatever the reason, surely we can all agree that we stayed up last season in spite of Kean's managerial ability, not because of. Nah, he's quality, mate. We're just blinded by logic.
Stuart Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Whatever the reason, surely we can all agree that we stayed up last season in spite of Kean's managerial ability, not because of. Amazingly, no, not everyone will agree.
ABBEY Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 He kept us in the league last year 'against all odds' and he's on course to do it again. I think that's evidence enough. And people say I chat ######... Jesus your more pathetic than dr knob , vinjay and spark put together.
47er Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 When will people realise that Braddock comes on here when we win---ie not very often-------to wind people up? Have a look at the bench last Saturday Braddock-------full of recent signings who are bloody useless.
yoda's brother Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 garth crook team of the week comment on bbc MIDFIELDER - JUNIOR HOILETT Junior Hoilett I've been saying all season that these players are a credit to Steve Kean. They have performed heroics at times in a climate of hostility, much of that sadly, from their own fans. Against Wolves they seem to be getting the support their efforts deserve, Junior Hoilett in particular. The winger produced a sparkling performance and two superbly-taken goals which takes Blackburn out of the bottom three and puts QPR under immense pressure when you consider their run-in. Perhaps the Rovers fans should stop their protests and give their team and their manager their full backing. That way they might stay up. words fail me
Mattyblue Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Garth Crooks? I'd rather listen to Bruno Brookes talk about fish.

Steve Moss Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Actually those figures are out of date - Kean record is currently: "This season isn't about salvaging something, we've got the players to be in the top 10". Steve Kean November 2011 Between his record and his statements, it's hard to escape the conclusion that Kean is either: 1. Incompetent; or, 2. Deluded; or, 3. Complicit. Take your pick. Is there any other rationale explanation?
