  1. 1. Should Steve Kean be sacked

Recommended Posts

1. I'm male.

2. I said it was a great job IF he is as bad as people say. You've got to take things in the proper contexts, which requires you to read exactly what is being posted. It's hard but give it a try.

3. Ah, Samba's half time team talk which there is no evidence of apart from a few conspiracy theorists scrambling for an excuse of a Kean win. I don't mind it when they point at the statistics as they are poor indeed, but this is without foundation. The super man Samba who has walked out yet it has had no bearing on performance. These players have must have short memories or perhaps they are playing under somebody else. But no, you are right, in fact I've heard he came back from Russia to hold a seminar before the Wolves game.

4. I'm male (again).

5. I bring up Allardyce when people bring up something that applies to Allardyce. Like when they accuse Kean of lying in interviews and coming out with rubbish. I think that's fair enough, given most of the people coming out with it have now become ardent Fatty fans.

6. Yes, he's really got the results to manage Real Madrid, hasn't he? What an odd statement.

7. Even though we are a club in debt they have put up around double Grabbi's transfer fee and sanctioned payment for the likes of Yak, so whilst they are destructive in many ways, they at least offer more than Grabbi did on a purely benefits front. Negatives is another matter, which I do not deny.

you are an absolute fool, who talks garbage

Allardyce's points cushion kept us up, actually.

+ the last few games where the senior players ( who are no longer here ) stepped up to the plate...Keans input was nil

So....you are basically supporting what I say is correct then? It's good that you've gone to that effort and sort of pointed out that we may well have been safe with Kean in charge from the off (in a points per game sense). I obviously have issue with the "played the hardest fixtures and looking to climb" quote because it is all ifs, buts and maybes and 3 points against Liverpool is only worth the same as 3 points against Villa - but I understand your point.

I just want to point out again that I'm not Kean's biggest fan BUT I often find myself defending him due to the people creating extremely flawed arguements such as "it was only because of the points that Sam amassed that we stayed up" - which you have kindly shown to be utter ###### :tu:

You do realise that both Birmingham and Blackpool went down with 39 points don't you?

In other words we would have been saved by an impossible half a point! Meaning goal difference.

How confident would the team have been then going into the last match? As it was we were very unlikely to go down on the last day and the team's performance reflected that.

Additionally you are assuming that Kean would have got that average of points per game over the whole season. As I said, the "draw" for the first half of the season was harder than the second. And he only had a margin of goal diff to play with.

2 Facts are undeniable-------we went from a mid-table position to a desperate scrap against relegation and were only safe on the last day.

Kean has not improved--------he's got worse.

Unlucky.

Next!!!

Do you not think it's a bit misleading to have a "points per game" column for a table that includes cup games, ie games where no points are awarded? Neither Ince's 3 League Cup wins nor Kean's little run earlier this season made the danger of relegation any less...

If you just go off Premier League games:

Ince P17 W3 D4 L10 PPG 0.76 WR 17.65%

Kidd P23 W5 D11 L7 PPG 1.13 WR 21.74%

Kean P49 W11 D14 L24 PPG 0.96 WR 22.45%

Maybe we just shouldn't hire managers with only 4 letters in their name?

It doesn't matter how you twist the stat's, he is awful either way.

After which the pundits on here expressed as fact that we wouldn't win another game and would've been confirmed as relegated 2 weeks ago with the lowest points total in history.

That was never going to happen, I always thought we'd be in with a chance as it was never going to be a 40 point season.

Though those two home defeats to West Brom and Bolton made me worry if we'd get to 30 points.

Never said he wasn't. Just wondered why you were 'twisting' the stats by awarding 'points' for cup games against the likes of Grimsby and Sheffield Wednesday?

Never said you had.

Next time I'll spend more time trawling the internet looking for stat's that fit in with all. The stat's were the same for everyone and most sites list all games collectively making them easy to find.

Long before the end of the game, there was only the Rovers fans singing. Heard plenty "only one Jack Walker" chants.

As for Kean signings- there haven't been any. He just gets to take the mickey with outlandish player comparisons when he finds out who has arrived.

1. The start would be the most logical, unless you intend on wrapping your points around each other.

very smart.

2. He isn't worse than Ince so that's at least one he's better than.

He is currently out of work.

3. I don't believe they gave him a fair chance. He was written off before having time to change the team away from big boot, then on his next chance when people were expecting mega bucks, he was written off because they weren't spent. Something he had no control over.

Most were shocked at the sacking of an experienced manager for no apparent reason but there were no initial protests and he was given a chance.

4. Your prerogative.

Thanks for allowing that i guess

5. League 1 is specific. Why is this his peak? If Kean is so bad that's an insult to League 1.

Just making a point that he is way out of his depth in this devision but I am sorry for not being clear enough for you.

6. He's putting forward as much propaganda as Allardyce and understands that with a young squad optimism and self belief is important - something continually destroyed by the fans. As for his opinion on what others think of him, I think it's in the interests of his mental health that he doesn't fully understand the level of idiocy of the Rovers fans, so that's fine by me.

There is a big difference between what sam and other managers do and what kean does. Kean lies openly and has been shown to be a liar on several instances.

7. Your belief is your prerogative but it's strange that he was largely ridiculed in the press when signing to the end of last season. Someone told them back then that he was already in bed with them.

The media constantly ignore his record and the rubbish he spouts.

8. I'm sharing my opinion and I think it's fair to say that there are a large amount of protesters who would be under the national average when it comes to IQ and when they personally attack staff at the club and potentially derail the team (regardless of whether they feel staff at the club are doing the very same) then I offer them no respect.

Again with the insults. All I can say to you is the protests are against people who for what ever reason seem to be destroying the club. Kean is part of that group.

9. Ah, are you religious? See point 8.

Im not sure where you are going here but what ever

10. Thank you for saying you will allow my opinion. All I've done is put it forward. I've hardly been tearing down the board insulting people's mothers. I think you are blowing the manner in which I post out of proportion.

We all have our own opinions

11. A good time for a poll is after a draw, and only leave it open until just before the next game. There's so many opinions it seems crazy to have a poll last so long.

100% agree

I was listening to the Guardian Football Podcast and one of the guys on it said that Rovers fans were chanting Steve Kean's name positively at the end of the game. Say it isn't so!

I was watching a stream, but I'm sure I could hear 'Keano for England' right at the end.

Hardly postive for wee baldilocks though, eh?

Could the people answer this.,, WHY do you come out mouthing off about kean after a win?

I call him even after win , lose or draw.

I'm not sure if I class as the people, but as I've stated many times on here already, the reason I don't come on here after a loss is because it's just filled filled with ridiculous statements about us being down and a torrent of abuse aimed everywhere naturally greater than after a positive result. The board just isn't intelligent or logical enough to bother talking to after a defeat so there seems little point. Last thing I want to do is mope about on the internet when my team gets beat. Now that's depressing. I'm mainly here to knock some sense into the swing voters who have an ounce of logic in them.

You only come on here when we win because you can't wind up the vast majority when we lose---which is often.

As for you being more intelligent than the rest of the board I think this might refer to you:

"And still they gazed, and still the wonder grew

That one small head could carry all he knew."

(Oliver Goldsmith)
