  1. 1. Should Steve Kean be sacked

Recommended Posts

I was full of hope yesterday as I sat down to watch the match. After the Arsenal game, where we hunted the ball down & got in their faces & played some decent stuff (when we could get the ball off them!!!). What I saw was a return to the meek surrendering shambles of a team that I watched against Wolves & Everton, I wanted to go home yesterday with a smile on my face, instead I was embarrassed and disappointed.

We will get completely trounced next week by Man City, and I hope this puts the nail in his Ewood Park coffin because I have simply had enough.

STEVE KEAN OUT!!!!!!!

And it's back up to 96%

Fickle doesn't even begin to describe it.

to be fair, Blackburn were so so bad that even people giving him a couple of more games couldn't see us being that bad, would change their vote.

In fact I really can't believe how bad we were. Even if we had played lioke that after the first game of the season I would have voted Kean out.

I think you need to pay attention to the poll, its says Kean out or more time (and then kick him out or keep him).

If you give Kean more time doesn't mean you suddenly think he is the perfect man for the job.

If the poll said do you think Kean is a good manager or not, it would stay at 90% a lot longer.

Sometimes I wonder if Venkys just watch Keans post match interviews....and think "oh we were unlucky again"

He spouts pure nonsense, the 3rd goal WAS a foul but the fact was it was the "3rd" goal, there were 2 more before it

that were down to our total lack of leadership on and off the pitch!1 shot on target, and this clown says we want to outscore other teams?

Kean out......still!

roll call of shame

So in this Orwellian society that you wish to have means anyone having a different view to you is shameful? I think that reflects more on you than anyone who votes for not sacking Kean today.

I am sickened by the constant and closed minded reaction at every stage of this affair.

I have not voted in this poll, nor will I in any ones in the future on the subject of Kean. It appears to me we will run these until the day he has gone, which he will one day, no manager lasts. In the meantime some of the comments are beginning to drag this board down to the level of the posts on lesser boards.

Please can we have more respect for each other, whatever the other persons views are.

That goes two ways Roversider.

The pro-Kean brigade have been calling those involved in the march disloyal and being anti-Rovers. Now the worm has turned, as it inevitably would do, you on here asking for more respect? Where were you last week?

However, you have a good point whatever the timing. We are all Rovers fans, even if we bitterly disagree in our views of what is best for the club.

Whoever is advising him on PR needs sacking, no way should he have done all those interviews last week, he needed to show a little less arrogance.

He actually won a game and it clearly went to his head,as you rightly say the arrogance nieveity and sheer stupidity (talk of finishing top 10!) was embarrassing to behold.

What society that I wish to have, I must have missed that one. I would never discourage someone from saying how they really feel, I'm all for freedom of speech. If people are hectored into having a certain viewpoint until we have a lynch mob, then that does not make for healthy debate.

I'm sorry if my post seemed over-the-top to you, and in hindsight it probably didn't reflect too well on me, but it's symptomatic I feel of the frustration a lot of people feel on here that this club is being hindered by appalling decision-making on and off the field.

My apologies again for being heavy-handed, but I'm truly stumped why anyone would want Kean to continue. I'd be happy to hear the reasoning why.

I was at the game last week. No I didn't join in the march, then again neither did at least 18,000 other Rovers fans, were we all disloyal? I have never said that people shouldn't march, I respect their views whether I agree with the outcome or not

This board has generally been a good place for discussion in the past, don't assume that because other posters don't appear to show the same anger that they aren't hurting. However only a fool turns that anger on other fans, we won't make the decision, that will be the owners. Let's keep this as a better board than those we see elsewhere, having a civil approach has influence as much, if not more than expressing anger and frustration in a way that can be derided by the press.

As you said we are all fans, let's stick together as much as we can. This isn't the Arab Spring for goodness sake, nobody is dying or being tortured for opposing the club regime.

Sorry, the way I read it you were listing posters out and passing a judgement. I understand the pain and anger but I would not be impressed if you were being targeted in the same way. There is a degree of anonymity in the way we post so you aren't actually naming names.

Understand the frustration, doesn't help if we take it out on one another I guess.

You sure you support Rovers? What a ridiculous thing to say about your own team

If you could read properly, you would notice that I never mentioned mentioned the team.

Oh, and yeah, I'm pretty sure I have supported Blackburn Rovers ever since my dad started taking me down to Ewood when I was 5. There was, however, no slip of paper to sign which required me to not acknowledge the truth or comment upon such things.

Joke club thanks to Venky's. Joke fans who change their mind on a whim after each and every game.

Got a problem with that?

Feel free to directly PM me if you wish to continue this discussion about my personal levels of support, as well as the financial and emotional support I have put into my hometown club over the course of three decades.

Oh, and

The poll is pretty condemning for Keano. I know people claim that forums/internet are not representative of the entire support, and a few years ago I would've agreed. But apart from the flask pouring, tartan blanket over the knees supporters, who don't even know what the internet is, I think the internet in this day and age shows the true consensus, percentage wise, of the massive majority of the fans.

I think your owners need to listen up to what the massive majority of their customers want, otherwise their investment will lose them millions.

I talked to Venky's PR earlier this morning, for the first time ever was told that "manager is judged on results and last night it was a bad result", normally all I get is "Kean retains the support of the owners".

That said I don't see Kean getting sacked, he will be incharge for the Man City game, I suppose if we get battered by City and the crowd turn against Kean and the owners are there to see it then possibly but as I said last week the Arsenal result has secured Kean's job for the foreseeable future.

Whoever is advising him on PR needs sacking, no way should he have done all those interviews last week, he needed to show a little less arrogance (although I can accept the he was hyped after the week he had gone through) and should've just talked to one media outlet rather than this tour that he went on. I suspect those interviews weren't even aimed at Rovers fans, it was Kean's attempt to talk to the national press who had picked up all the negative feeling from Rovers fans prior to the Arsenal game and to put his positivity across to them. The problem is having done that, he now needed to build upon the Arsenal game, but didn't, instead Rovers went backwards.

The pressure will now be on again next Saturday against a superb Man City side but still can't see him getting sacked.

Is that Paul Agnew who is giving the advice? He wanders round closer to Steve Kean like a minder whenever I see him. I agree that the interviews are inappropriate and definitely don't help his cause. Bad result against City and he will still be in a job but things will be getting progressively more difficult. I really hate what it is doing to us all though.

I would assume so that it is PA but then again it could be his agent telling him to do this interviews, although I agree PA seems to follow Kean around everywhere he goes.

Huge pressure on the City game for Rovers now, the big problem is that if we are setup like we have been recently then City will take us apart, they are generally solid at the back and have attacking players who will cause havoc if the defence is left exposed by the midfield.

Why have you,a PRESTON FAN voted to give him more time.

Totally agree on the City front and our attack minded midfield. It worked against Arsenal but then again they don't bother defending either. Feeling very uncomfortable about this one and I would prefer we had a few more enforcers there.

I had to press either or to see the results, I'm not on the wind-up or anything. Clearly my one vote against the grain won't influence the will of your fans, which is crystal that you want Kean gone, and I can't say I blame you all.
