Yep, no weekend lie-ins for the next few weeks.

I was hoping the all blacks would do their usual flying start before fading early. From the text commentary this seemed ominously unconvincing.

Second half was an improvement for Tonga. Thought their defence was pretty good in 2nd half. But all blacks are unreal, their offloads and running were immense

I've made the journey to NZ! here for the pool stage, before a few days in Sydney and then back home.. Tickets for all England's group matches with Kiwi Experience and couch surfing keeping us moving/alive!

Can see England making the Final for what its worth, then hoping for an AB's choke in the final

England were poor today but it's the result that counts.

Can't see many poncey premier league players handling that kind of punishment though, how many Argies had to leave the field ?

You would sooner support a nation in which some of your fellow Irishmen from the North died fighting against?

I for one like all the home nations to well at the RWC

Oh and BTW Ireland were even more dire than England

Still won though! The same fellow Irishmen from the North that would call themselves English before they would call themselves Irish? I for one also like all the Ireland and British Isles team to do well at the RWC except for England :)

What a Hypocrite, last time I checked Blackburn was in England and 90% of its fans are English

Your on the wrong website mate, I suggest you go and support an Irish team as you obviously have a chip on your shoulder regarding the English. As for your throwaway comments re Northern Irsih solidiers... that is very very sad

How am I a hypocrite? Because I support a team in another country doesnt mean I have to support the nation its in.

I do support an Irish team, Munster, Ireland, Shannon rugby. I dont have any chip on the shoulder about the english, have a good few english friends and work with loads of people in England, but when it comes to sports such as football, rugby and recently cricket, I love to see Engurland lose. You would be our rivals the same burnley are rovers rivals and if i am not mistaken are also english so does that make you a hypocrite too??

There wasnt anything throwaway about my comment on NI soldiers, it was the truth. That they would prefer to say they are British before they would say they are Irish. And anyway what has a war in the falklands got to do with sport and rugby - maybe it is you ser that is on the wrong website!!!

So let me get this straight you support all the other home nations in the RWC but not engalnd as they are your rivals? What happens in the 6N?

Yeah I was trolling, you hating :D Took the bait. For the record I was shouting for the Argentinan rugby team, not the country, not the army and not the people.

Whats sad about not supporting a rival team?

Some people want all the Irish and British isles teams to do well, including England, others dont. Its probably the same with the Welsh fans and Scottish fans, in fact I know it is!

The unnecessary and meaningless Falklands war finished 30 years ago - are you serious ?

In general there are very few Scots, Irish, Welsh, South African, Australian, New Zealand sports fans who will support England at anything. They have been brought up to dislike England sports teams because they have a chip on their shoulder either for historical reasons or because we are the former colonial masters. As a result they enjoy seeing us lose on the sports field.

Like you I also support all the home nations in the rugby World Cup and I think English sports fans in general would say likewise. It's a pity the other home nations supporters cannot grow up and do the same.

Yeah its only a sports thing - and its only a bit of banter anyway! Its not like the rest of the former colonies/former empire countries hate the English, just look at how welcome the monarch were when the visited Ireland for god knows how long during the summer. We are practically the same people, just with the Irish sea in between us.

And the same banter is seen when Irish rugby teams play English rugby teams, I had a great time in Northampton when Munster played there. Its all harmless really.

And as jim said we enjoy seeing england lose because of their occupancy - nothing more sinister really than a fluffy venkys chicken :D
