Mark Hughes, let's stop playing silly buggars now. I've heard of desperation but let's not get carried away. Yes he was great but I think he had lost his shine for the job long before he left. He just dumped Fulham and he will do the ssame to us (again) at the drop of a hat. First "big club" that comes off he'll be.

Come on Be serious now!!!! Hughes is 10 times the "manager" Kean is, the reason Hughes moved on was because he did a great job here and City were on the up and offered him mega bucks and an open cheque book! Would anyone offer puppet a job atm? My council wouldn't hire him as a bin man!

The fact is by replacing Kean with Hughes will lift the place and almost guarantee a better season!

Sack Kean NOW...... Venkys have to listen.....there's a reason we are saying this, it's important for yourselfs as well as us!

I always believed that under Hughes we had the chance to beat anyone, and teams were genuinely worried about playing little Blackburn Rovers.

Why don't Venky's offer him a package to keep us up ? A contract until the end of the season, with a fat bag full if we stay in the Premier League.

The squad we have now (although a little weak up front) is certainly strong enough to stay up, it needs a change in the dugout and the man management skills that I believe Sparky possesses.

Please please please.......

The guy ain't coming back, let's turn out attention to who might want to manage us.

Would love Hughes to return, but there is more chance of Shearer/ Garner playing up front tomorrow as Hughes coming back.....

Hope im wrong tho :-)

The Venky's could call it their marque signing,

If he came till the end of the season that would be ok by me, at leat we would still be in the PL,

alternatively going along the Glen wifes route, how about Cheri Lunghi, shes got the "T" shirt

:D

Glad to read that people in Poland are backing this campaign.

Beat me to it. My first thought on seeing this thread was that, having been away for 7-8 weeks, I'd missed another possible Rovers takeover, this time by eastern Europeans who know enough about football to know that Kean should be sacked.

Tugay ? Could he do a better job perhaps ? Or am I letimg my heart rule my head

Possibly, but Tugay has more footballing knowledge in his big toe than Kean ever will.

Plus he has a fantastic relationship with the fans and would command the respect of the players a lot better than Kean does.

Above all, quite frankly, he couldn't be any worse than Kean.

We can't trade one inexperienced manager for another, even if Tugay is God.

We need someone who can come in and get to work without having to learn the ropes. That said, I would like Tugay to return in some capacity.

wouldnt want tugay coming in, then failing as it would tarnish our memories of him as a rovers legend, couldnt bring myself to hate him if he failed here.

I'm inclined to agree with this one, I would like to see how he does in another managers position before we would possibly go for him. On a side note, did anyone read the Jason Roberts/Venkys spin doctor tweet about Tugay coming over for to watch a game? Look forward to that.

I do hope we could get Hughes in more than any other manager though I wouldn't mind Michael Laudrup either-big name and teams play good football (though Mallorca were nearly relegated last season).

Imagine if the board had plumped for him instead of Ince....

Miker don't be daft if we get P.Brown in next thing we will be seeing is EHD back here and we only just managed to get rid of the waste of space. Rover & Out we would not want Tugay as a no.1 but as a no.2 learning of someone like Souey,Sparky,MON plus it would also give him the opportunity to do his badges in that role he would be ideal or even as a coach would do an excellent job maybe after about 2 years when he has done his badges he might make a good no.1 but as said in this moment in time would be a good no.2 and would command the respect of the players.

i agree, would be a good number 2 for the next couple of years, need someone experienced and a winner to learn from though. trouble is there is noone out there, who would be interested/good enough for the job, cant see hughes coming back, i would still take benitez if he would be willing to come here.

Saw that tweet - even though I am banned :D I wondering is he coming over to show him how to score?

Laudrup would be a good choice in my view.

He has experience as a manager and could attract better players than Kean.

Hughes would be my 1st choice but I unsure whether he will come back.

so my 2nd and 3rd choice are Claudio Ranieri and Michael Laudrup.

Maybe rovers could tempt Sven from Leicester City. Isn't he close to Pini Zahavi.

Behave yourself Chaddy!! Sven is poop. He's spent a fortune at Leicester (£6m for Beckford?!!), and they barely beat Coventry and have been very average. He last did anything with Nazio 10 years ago and has been astoundingly mediocre since. He's now a journey man trading on a famous name wandering round pouncing on the next quick buck.

I've listed my choices on the stick or twist thread, so whilst I'd be really happy if Hughes came back, he's not my only choice.

I think if a new manager does come in it has to be somebody that noes the prem league(either managed or played here), in the position where in theres not much time for a new manager to learn on the job it has to be somebody that can come in quickly assess the current squad and put the best team out in a formation that will make us tough to beat.

My ideal choice would be:-

1.Claudio Ranieri-currently unattached built the foundations of the Chelsea team on an average before abramovic/mourinho came along, very popular with fans and players,

2. Slaven Bilic-knows what the prem leagues all about as hes played here and a lot of his Croatia players play in prem so he must follow it closely, hes young and hungry knows how to setup a team thats tough to beat but can also be ruthless when attacking, prob wont leave his current job though,

3. Mark Hughes- does need any explanation but i don't think he'd come or be happy to work for the venkys as he seems to like complete control(which is why he prob left fulham, didn't get on with AL fayed).

but in all honesty i think any experienced professional manager would be a massive improvement over Steve'the donut'Kean.
