[Archived] How many Rovers points by New Year?

Recommended Posts

I'm a worried lad.

Looking at our present performences (1 point from 4 games against mediocre to poor opposition) and our injury list, ever mind our so called manager (sic) I am trying to work out where our next points will come from.

looking at games until 31st December does anyone believe that we will amass more than 5 points, and from which games.

PS. Kean Out

I can't participate in this discussion because I can't bring myself to believe that Kean will still be "manager" in 3 months time.

So, being a cup half-full type of person, the answer to your question is "it depends on who the new manager is."

If Kean remains as manager I fear we will exit the premiership with perhaps the lowest ever points total. I'd like to think there will be a point where Venky's think "enough is enough" and get rid... it may be too late, but at least we'd be able to salvage some dignity from this season.

Don't get me wrong, i'm very worried too, but we will have more points than 5 come the new year even if this dolt is still in charge.

We'll pick up some points where we are not expected too, plus there are some winnable home games in december (wow!) aswell.

I think if Kean is here, we'll have somewhere between 12 and 20 points.

Did anyone expect us to get 8 points out of our final 4 games last season? Because i certainly didn't.

Saturday September 24 2011 - Newcastle United - Blackburn Rovers -D

Saturday October 1 2011 - Blackburn Rovers - Manchester City - L

Saturday October 15 2011 - Queens Park Rangers - Blackburn Rovers - L

Saturday, October 22 2011 - Blackburn Rovers - Tottenham Hotspur - L

Saturday October 29 2011 - Norwich City - Blackburn Rovers - D

Saturday November 5 2011 - Blackburn Rovers - Chelsea - L

Saturday November 19 2011 - Wigan Athletic - Blackburn Rovers - D

Monday November 28 2011 - Stoke City - Blackburn Rovers - L

So 10 points going into January and some of them results look optimistic.

really pedro? where will they come from? you think we will almost match kean's point total since he took over, in the space of a few months? seriously?

Yep, deadly serious. Only time will tell though and we can revisit this thread on the 1st of Jan to see who is closest. What is your prediction?

predictions are pointless (like kean will be pointless) but i reckon from now until christmas we will be lucky to get 15 points, especially with the amount of difficult fixtures coming up.

I don't see them as any more difficult than any other year to be honest. Rovers pick up points when you don't expect them and lose them when you don't expect them to either. I can only see Kean being at the helm for two more consecutive losses but regardless I genuinely think we are capable of beating Arsenal on Saturday and we tend to work harder against the so called better sides at Ewood (and we have a few of those coming up!). We have a very good squad of players now, just got to get the balance right and hope lady luck smiles at us for a change.

Terrifying because we have had the easiest set of 4 opening fixtures I can remember and have probbly dropped at least 6 points we should have had.

Kean's track record is less than a point a game but I don't think he could even get close to a point a game between now and New Year. Certainly the first six home games will be six defeats.

The New Year points total is simply a factor of how soon Kean is fired and with various agents in charge that is anybody's guess as to when the severely over-due firing finally happens.

I'd be delighted with 10 points under Kean.

In fact, I think we should put that alongside his "miracle" of 8 points from 4 games from last season.

This guy is basically the new Moses, isn't he? Leading us to the Promised Land.

Either that or Ewood and Pune are Sodom and Gomorrah and we are in for one hell of a punishment!

Crikey your predictions could be spot on if keans stays in charge :( remember the points tally Sunderland once got with Roy kean , one of lowest ever amassed . Scary to think we seem like a new prem team and not a seasoned one

You have just drawn me to RVR's predictions there, Rovers Gals.

Have to say, based on our form over the last 9 months it would be difficult to argue with any of them.

10 points come Xmas eh? So only 30 needed afterwards.

Yeah, makes sense to give Kean a few more games.

Strewth. God help us.
