Emge Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 If we were playing United or City today we would be getting hammered! They must look so much forward to playing us. Dzeko/Rooney/Aguero/Tevez-Hattricks up for grabs over here!
walk down bolton road Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 We must improve a lot more when we have not got the ball,Arsenal are knocking it about at will. We must improve a lot more when we have not got the ball,Arsenal are knocking it about at will.
bennyboyt11 Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 Rochina off for Vuckevic I hope, nothing to lose so why not? Rochina is trying too much, losing the ball far too many times. The midfield is getting over run yet again, how we miss JJ.
BPF Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 Petrovic is looking like an awful signing. Didn't mean to post that one hundred times. Apologies.
promoted2001 Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 Petrovic is looking like an awful signing. I think we get the message. But yes, I agree
imy9 Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 75% possession to Arsenal? The most frustrating part of this is that I feel that if we had a manager with tactical nous we could be a top 10 team, under Kean our midfield is leaving too many gaps. On Petrovic, the boy has been in the country for a few weeks and the pace of the pl is relentless, to say he looks "an awful signing" after a couple of games is grossly unfair.
tonyoz Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 Put Grella on for Rochina and then give it to Junior. He can do Rochina's job as well. We need to smash their midfield fancy boys. Yak doing well I think.
toetoe Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 The only thing which can help us now, is putting on an unproven central midtfielder, preferably from South America or former Yugoslavia.
Hekla Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 Why don't we tackle or close down? No chasing at all, it's like a friendly match for Arsenal. Yakubu finish was excellent, Hoilett has been good. Really going off N'Zonzi and Givet, both have gone downhill. Steve Kean can't say we have played well, if he does then I will scream or something.
G Somerset Rover Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 He is looking awful though BPF so we'll let you off. I said as much against Fulham. Jermain Jones would have been a snip at 5 million judging by Petrovic's start to date.
rogerjonesgloves Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 Could be Keans last 45. Out with a whimper I suspect. If he has any tactical nouse at all this is the time to show it.
Commondore Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 Strange game, must be a great watch if you're a neutral. I like how we're actually threatening in the final third and how Hoilett and Rochina has taken note from the Fulham game and tracks back to protect the fullbacks, but our defensive midfield looks terrible. The first goal came from bad positioning from Lowe/Nzonzi (and Robinson's mysterious ability to get down low), and they have being caught out of position time after time during the first half. Yakubu looks like a good Jason Roberts, loved how he got back onside and then produced such a simple, clever finish. I'm sure we could score at least one more goal, the problem is that Arsenal looks an even safer bet to score. Nzonzi has to shape up his appearance considerably, and then hopefully drag Petrovic with him. If we shore up the midfield, we'll look much more solid defensively while still being able to enjoy the attacks from Yakubu, Hoilett, Rochina and Formica.
Andy Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 rochina loosing the ball too many times Agreed - all he's done today is get the ball and run into an Arsenal player, losing the ball. Really annoyed me pre-game, Kean made a point of saying that we were 'excellent' against Fulham. No, we were not. I watched the full game myself, we were awful. No doubt he'll try and tell us we were 'excellent' again today, despite yet another defeat.
Darwen Rover Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 I'd put ollson on for Formica and put Rubin in behind yakubu and olsonn in place of Rubin on the wing..
levirover Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 Take off formica/rochina. Bring on olsson to help givet and give hoilett a free role. Lat 2 games we have been punished from left side you would think kean had recognised this by now. We have 5 in midfield but it looks like arsenal have more players in there. JOKE!!! Have given kean my support, but he has to step aside if we don't get points today, his record since he took charge is Hurrendous!!
Backroom DE. Posted September 17, 2011 Backroom Posted September 17, 2011 Unable to watch the game due to work, is Formica as anonymous as I'm being led to believe by a mate at the game?
slough_rover Posted September 17, 2011 Author Posted September 17, 2011 We actually score after the break! Must be a first under Kean
deftangel Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 Rochina is simply trying to hard. Someone just needs to have a word with him to tell him to calm down. I like his spirit, shouldn't be too harsh on him. J.Jones also started very slowly in this league but I saw more potential with him in those early days than I am with Petkovic. Not encouraged. Why we are starting Lowe I've got no idea but as I type this we've equalised from a free kick he won so hey ho.
