Guest Rovers4Good
Following the TV programme last night which outed players like Garry O'Connor and others it seems that football is well behind the other big sports in their doping tests and also that the FA are going out of their way to cover up the real problem. What are your thoughts on this and do you think something like this goes on in every club?

What are your thoughts on this and do you think something like this goes on in every club? Yes. I mentioned this months back on another thread and got shot down in flames. The drug testing in football is a disgrace and is designed not to catch people.
Guest Rovers4Good
Not sure it's the testing but the FA who seem to be doing their upmost to not make this public knowledge.
heysham rover
The programme was sensationalist nonsense and filled with errors. It also used Leon Knight as a reliable source, which should give you everything you need to know. I work in football and the drug tests etc are very tight. Commondore
Was this about recreational drugs or doping?

Look at how Rugby League & Union do it and then you'll see what proper testing is.
3rdpillar
Puzzelled why Rio Ferdinand wasn't mentioned for his NO SHOW... Did he not get a ban anyway. Many aligations came out afterwards that he has been "partying" hard prior to his appointment with the reaper.
Guest Rovers4Good
Some people couldn't be named for legal reasons which was a shame but saying the testing is tight is a whole load of tosh There was 240 cancelled tests last year to which the player will have been notified in advance of the test, very tight. I got tested umpteen times when I was in comps, one time I was that dehydrated I had to wait in the changing rooms 3 hours after the event had finished and a woman stood watching the entire time Inc peeing in a cup!
