Hughes will not come. End of story. Let's put this to bed.

He quit Fulham despite there not being an offer on the table as he thought they were beneath his ambitions.

Why on earth would he come to Rovers?

He thrived at Rovers because he had a sensible boardroom and he had a great relationship with John Williams.

We're a different club now and IMO Blackburn Rovers would be the last Premier League team he'd want to manage right now.

Watching Hughes last night, there is an arrogance about him these days that tells me he would NEVER come back.

And as said, if he wanted out of a stable Ewood where he had total control, a Fulham who have just spent £10million on a striker, why on earth would he come to this madhouse?

Honestly, what will giving him more time achieve?

There's this nonsensical idea that you can't judge a manager until it's "his" team. But he had 18 games with a useable squad, and wasn't any cop. It's his team now, he's weakened it! What do you expect to happen now?

The front-line is a mixture of has-been's/ never-was's/ callow youth that is not yet good enough. The midfield is lightweight with not a tackle in any of them. The defence lacks first-choice full-backs who can defend and at centre-back we have only one decent centre half who is not required elsewhere and does not have injury problems. At least the goal-keeper's serviceable.

That's Kean's team, says a lot about him.

There are alot of foreign managers that fancy a shot at the prem. Also money talks!

You're forgetting the negative transfer budget we had this summer.

Also money might talk but only to a certain extent.

Very few big name managers will want to come to a job which might well damage their reputation if we get relegated.

Curbishley is the ideal realistic candidate.

I want Kean gone, first and foremost. But replacing him is not as easy as we may think - sadly.

Me too, and I don't mean to be offensive to people suggesting Samba as player manager etc. But I just don't think it's a serious or logical solution.

The reasons to sack Kean would also be the reasons why not to appoint an inexperienced manager.

This club needs, and deserves, better. Someone like Ancelotti would be brilliant. I don't know how much of an issue money is for them, but if they're going to invest in something it should be a manager.

A single great manager can make the difference between relegation and safety, survival and mid table safety, modest achievement and European qualification.

Im not forgetting it at all. As my posts showed over the transfer window i knew exactly what was going on!

Like the Raul deal.... if there is a chance of a big manager coming in... The Brothers will pay for them out of their own money.

That is all they care about!! Big names to be connected with venkeys!!!

But the big name manager doesn't just care about big wages, he also cares about a big transfer budget.

I can't see them doing both.

All i can say is that if people want him removing... things need to be done IN THE GROUND where venkys can see it with thier own eyes.

All they are hearing at the moment is Steve Kean saying its only 1% of fans.... if they see the whole stadium shouting kean out then things will happen.

also great news for Aalesund!!! will look out to see if i can watch it somewhere!

Well we'll see wont we.... but none of this will happen unless the ape thats running our club into the ground is removed.

If a new manager was to come in it will be a big foriegn manager.

Remember its venkys....its all about the big names!!!

Hughes, he is welsh :D

Problem with big names is money. Maybe one reason why they stuck with Kean. Another reason being he does as they tell him to do. A decent manager would not do that.

Bit harsh comparing Kean to an Ape. After all Apes have feelings as well.

Rafa Benitez I cannot see past as 1st choice. He wants to stay in England, he wants to manage in the prem & the sky reporter fella from Spain said we had held talks with Rafa in the past.

He is an excellent tactician, a massive name in European football and has won big trophies.

He has a good record as manager at Every club he has been, with no less than 40% win percentage at any club.

Ancelotti or Bernd Schuster or Ronald Koeman are possible replacements for kean then???

They will be definate candidates yes.

The final decision will make or break venkys imo.

it will really show whether they are serious about taking the club forward or not. IF they do go for the big name... it will open alot of windows for the future regarding players coming in etc.

But what chance do we have of that happening?

Can you really see venkys removing Kean, if for example v man city on saturday, there was kean out chants all around ewood park?

I ust admit I keep forgetting rafa. But can you see him travelling to India every now and again as Kean does now. Rafa would also want full say on things within the club, transfers etc. He would not want the dilly dallying we had in the last transfer window.

Yes. the one thing venkys havent seen is the whole ground shouting kean out. Then Kean cant claim its only 5% to them.

I keep forget about Benitez tbh. I am not a big fan of him personally but as a Football Manager he is very good and has a good record.

He could attract very good players to the club and players would want to come to the club and play for him.

Blackburn looking at finding a role within the club for Martin O'Neil. #brfc

from twitter

He also said less on 16th September that Blackburn will appoint a new manager within the next 2 weeks.

Also said Kean will not be sacked but asked to leave.

A real manager would not have to travel to India every month to arse lick the chicken bums

No way we need someone like Laudrap. We need established Premier League experience and someone who will command the players respect instantly. Hughes ior O'Neill areby far the stand out candidate but I can see absolutely no way they would go for this job.

Curbishley is probably the best and most appropriate we could get.

However if Kean goes I foresee a bizarre appointment - something like O'Leary......

Aren't O'Neill and O'Leary more or less the same manager though?
