booth Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 As this is a fantasy thread (I don't believe Kean is going anywhere just yet) I'd like Kenny Dalglish to leave Liverpool due to stress, then join us not too long afterwards taking us up the league and eventually winning it. History repeats itself but... The Venky's get a taste for glory and bankroll him to a glorious future in Europe winning cups yearly, by far surpassing any of Alex Fergusons successes. Man Utd's debt catches up with them and they go bankrupt (not just morally) and they end up doing a Leeds and dropping a couple of divisions. Howe ends up taking Burnley down and within a few years they are flirting with none-league status. What's that pink thing flying outside my window saying "oink oink"?

s_simpson_9 Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 In all of that .. The most I'd like to see is Man Ure go pop. Football as we once knew it is gone. And I'd love to see that lot buckle. Oh yeah - reality - steve kean. The most depressing part - it has fans squabbling over the word "intelligent".
John Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 I just can't see another manager working under Venkys, they probably realise that too so will keep Kean in place as long as possible. Imagine a manager who speaks his mind working under these loons, no sense of direction with lttle money to spend on the team.

AggyBlue Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 can no longer see the relevance of this thread as Kean is going no where... My turn to be melodramatic:- Kean could go down in history as Blackburn Rovers last ever manager
John Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 Story in the Express today saying Bruce about to get the sack at Sunderland with MON taking over.
Athlete Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 Story in the Express today saying Bruce about to get the sack at Sunderland with MON taking over. apparently O Neils agents been talking to an unnamed prem club last week was hoping it was Rovers but it doesnt look like it now...we need to move fast if we are going to go for someone of repute as there could be more clubs in the market for a new gaffer !
John Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 With this type of thing, we would need to be proactive and smart - sadly with our current owners I can't really see them being that. Question should be, are we convinced our current manager is the best available for BRFC and that he can firstly get sufficient results plus develop/improve the club.
broadsword Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 Given the sounds coming out of India, I would expect Kean to be here for another 6 weeks at least. I really don't know what sort of money they would have available to:- a) bin Kean, tempt someone new in. But I really think given their perceived state of finances and reputation and the state of the squad, you'd be looking at someone nobody else wants. Only silver lining I can think of is that there's not many coaches to pay off, and I doubt they're on very much. Of course, it may well be that they won't bin Kean at all. In which case, he'll stay as long as he dare, can see things getting quite nasty in which case.
John Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 If results stay poor and Kean is here for more than 1-2 matches, I think we will see serious problems at home matches - current situation is not sustainable IMO.
Mercer Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 Depends who does the chosing !!! If there's any legs in the the Currie / Battersby stuff and they are involved, Currie is a big pal of Sam but I'd rule that out, however, expect Battersby to bat for a place for Colin Hendry somewhere in the new team.

I expect us to have a new manager in place before or after the Spurs game. I just can't see us beating spurs with all their attacking players plus the one of the best keepers in the PL in Friedal. QPR game will just be as hard as the spurs game. I think Kean has had plenty of time and games in charge and he has massivly Flopped!!! Taxi for Kean!!!
roversmad95 Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 Why where's kean going? INDIA - Never to come back hopefully...
chaddyrovers Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 Why where's kean going? on the unemployment line hopefully
Emge Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 O'Neill is my big favourite! Hughes is of course the biggest dream, but I guess that is pretty unlikely, so O'Neill is perhaps the best we could hope for. But knowing Venkys, they'll probably screw up a golden chance of making everything better by appointing the totally wrong person, because he is 'nice' or 'a good thinker'. But if they prove me wrong, o'boy will I be excited about the future!
USABlue Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 Why where's kean going? You checked your pm lately?
BPF Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 You checked your pm lately? Are you aware of something?

Hopefully this http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/blackburn_rovers/news/9296616.Results_must_improve__Rao_warns_Blackburn_Rovers_boss/ puts a shorter timescale on things.
Iceman Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 What I want to know, is who is our new assistant manager?
Andy Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 It depends on who the new manager wants to bring in, once Kean shuffles on.
John Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 Ian Dennis (I think it was) on Talksport, Sunday night, said ONeill would not move to Blackburn (according to him).
alexanders Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 I agree with others concerning the Assistant. I dont think and I certainly hope that we will not see a new assistans employed unless we get a nice victory against QPR. A new assistant will mean that Kean is here for the long-run and not hiring one will mean he is here on loaned time. A new manager certainly wants to bring his own number two.
Jarvefromossy Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 Can't be bothered checking back but anyone mentioned Holloway?
