Although the sighting of Stuart Pearce is probably harmless, I wouldn't be surprised if he was our next manager. He would suit Venky's MO of a young, forward-thinking manager able to promote younger players.

Young ? He's 49 !!!

Hardly in the Villas-Boas or Martinez category of 'young' manager.

I'm surprised you let "forward thinking" slip by if you pulled that up!

I like old psycho as a person but I don't think he'd be much of an improvement over Kean, and that's saying something.

Curbishley would be an awful appointment.

Also why does Steve Kean have to be sacked, I'd happily see him play assistant manager to somebody like Hughes.

There is totally no way that Hughes would want Kean has his number 2.

Hughes taken his trust number 2 Mark Bowen, Eddie Niedzwiecki, Kevin Hitchcock and Glyn Hodges everywhere when he has been a Club Manager at!!!

Curbishley is a proven PL manager. Did a great job at Charlton on limited funds. Plus at WHU he kept them up in 1st season, 2nd season finished 10th and 3rd season walk out of the club because the Director of Football Gianluca Nani bought in 2 players behind the manager when he had a clause in his contract that says he MUST have the Final say on All transfers activity at the club!!!

1) O'Niell would be my number one choice, issues would have to be ironed out and promises made if Venkys wanted to get him.

2) Curbishley would make a good manager, tons of experience, but has he been out of the game to long and he seems to be on the sky sofa's more and more these days.

3) Holloway, yes he did get relegated with Blackpool, but he was so so close to performing the biggest miricle in premier league history on a tiny tiny transfer and wage budget. plays great great football and would not have to relocate far. i rate him.

4) Carlos Queiroz, has good calibre, been at the biggest clubs and been in the biggest managed in the biggest tornaments. in charge of iran but a return to the prem to face old ally ferguson would surly be to much to turn down.

my other options would Ranieri, Ancelotti, Laudrup, Pearce, Schuster or Quique Flores

Forget Gus Poyet, he won't leave Brighton. I live locally and he is loving managing Brighton and doing a great job and the fans adore him.

He is on a mission to get Brighton back in the top flight for the first time since 1983, which would make him a hero locally and REALLY put him on the managerial map.

Forget this one completely.

Correct I also live locally to Brighton. Seen them play a few times this season. Poyet is doing well there and I do believe he will get them up. Maybe not this season, though they have started really well, better than they expected. Poyet has got the backing of the board and the fans and the players, there is a brand new ground, season tickets sold out, everything is going well for the club - he won't leave Brighton.

Cheap ? how much do you think his salary is as Assistant coach at Chelsea.

I've no real idea...

I was thinking him taking a role there was more to get him back into Football plus was a Club he loves....

BUT is still a step below Managing a Prem Club...

and a WBA are known as pretty tight with monies I doudt he was on much there...

Any way.... It was just a thought :)

For me Nigel Adkins should be given some thought.

Great managerial record since taking over from Brian Laws at Scunthorpe. His teams play attractive attacking football, plus he is an ex physio, so no more fitness issues.

I had the chance to work with him for a couple of days back when he was Scunthorpe physio-he was a top man, very switched on too.

"Who needs Mourinho, we've got a physio!"

That's a really good shout Baron. However, like Poyet, Adkins as at a club with a lot of potential which is on the up. I doubt he'd make the switch.

My choices would be:-

1st choice:- Mark Hughes. He was great manager when he was here. He massive over achieved 1st time! was the best manager since King Kenny.

2nd choice :- Claudio Ranieri. He has Proven PL experience and play very good football. He tactically very good. Has a Plan B. Kean doesn't.

3rd choice :- Alan Curbishley. He has Proven PL experience and can work on a very tight budget. Knows how to keep a side up in the PL on a tight budget.

4th choice :- Bernd Schuster. Played very good attacking football and produce results. very good tactical. 5th choice :- Karl Robinson. Risky choice but has produce good football and results at Mk dons. Has been a manager at MK Dons for 16 months now. Most of the players know him and heard players really like his coaching.

Shearer or Tugay or Nelsen I would be happy with also along as they bought in a excellent experience number 2 then I would take it compare to Kean!!!

Has been my first choice for months now with Ranieri in 2nd place. Either one and Id cream myself.
