Am I mental thinking Solskjaer could be a decent appoint!? Or is just the kean rollocoster has been that bad?

I would be deilighted if we got him. Not only because Im norwegian, but he has done a great job in the norwegian league with his old homeclub Molde, who is currently 1st in Tippeligaen. Seems like he has learned alot from his old boss at United.

Anyway, I dont think he would come over now, as he would want to at least finish what he has started in Molde by winning the league first, at the very least!

Weirdly someone aimed this comment at me tonight on another forum tonight:

I heard this earlier today from someone pretty damn big in English football (not directly obviously) who had a conversation with a certain ex-blackburn player from years back. Tonight I've seen more on it with a few mentions from people, as I totally dismissed it earlier today.

He didn't reveal this ex-blackburn players name (obviously to protect his sources), but his info back last December was correct about Samba and Arsenal trying to come to a deal in the January Transfer window earlier this year. So it can be trusted somewhat.

Well anyway, your club looks to be sounding out Ole Gunnar Solskjær along with his assistant Mark Dempsey.

They are both currently pulling up trees with Molde in the Norwegian Premier. Top of the league by 6 points and 8 games to go. This is their first full season with the Norwegian club, so the talent is there.

Seems risky with such a manager though. I would have thought to ensure survival a proven EPL manager is what is required.

Again, this is from a source who has previously been correct with quite few little tidbits.

Shades of Brian Kidd :(

I think he would be worth the risk, don't know why but there's always been something about him, obviously as a player he was great. We do need experience however but this wouldn't be so bad, he is better than Kean!

Mark dempsey ? Ex villa. Wasn't that an old transfer window joke like luca toni ?

Think you mean Mark Delaney. Mark Dempsey played for Sheffield United and Rotherham but started at Manchester United. He was a coach at Tromso before Molde.

Sir Alex would give us lots of favours if he did arrive, that is for sure. ;)

I was thinking this, we are all feeder clubs now in effect we may as well get some benefits from it.

Would not want Solskjær.

Unproven as a manager at the highest level, and relative to the norwegian top division he's had quite abit of financial backing.

History similar to Ince then. That would be fine for some of our posters though.

Having read this quote from Venkatesh, I despair:

“One, two or three matches we will be at number 12."

No wonder Kean thinks his job is safe - they really haven't got a clue.

or was he saying he has three matches to turn it around?

What if we are 20th after another three

I am no Kean fan, far from it but until we can find a suitable replacement, by that I mean they agree to take over, we shouldn't sack him. If we do and don't get the man/men we want we will be left panicking and who knows who we could end up with.

My personal choices would be:

Deschamps - what a choice that would be AND could be tempted as keeps being overlooked for PL big jobs.

Hughes - obvious but doubtful he would come.

M'ON - not a massive fan, plays awful football, would keep us up.

Brendan Rodgers - has a great record and also one of leaving his club when a better offer comes along.

Benitez - PL experience but don't give him lots of money.

Souness - in the short term would keep us up.

Views on others:

Solksjaer - surely too inexperienced.

Shearer - see above + add would wimp out.

Jones - no thanks

Nigel Adkins - too inexperienced at a high enough level.

Maradona - do me a favour

Just woke up to read that Solskjær is being touted as a possible new manager if Venkys sees sense and fires Kean. My impression of Solskjær is that if he doesn't feel up to it he will decline an offer from Blackburn. And something tells me that is what will happen. What I find worrying about this rumour is that if it's true it could mean Venkys will go for the young up-and-coming and inexpensive kind of manager. That's a policy that's fine (to some degree) when it comes to purchasing players, but not with managers for å club like ours in our current state. Here's hoping this is just more air from the Daily Mirror.

Ince had more domestic club football management experience then Mark Hughes. I find it funny when they use Ince as an example of a bad managerial hiring policy when we took exactly the same gamble on Ince as we had done on Hughes. One worked, one didn't.

Be reasonably happy with Ole Gunnar, but feel that we need to firstly appoint someone with a proven record. We need to steady the ship for 10-12 months before deciding whether to take these types of gambles.
