Well I'm absolutely delighted that you (the morons on the march) were made to look like complete idiots by pretty much everyone, including Steve Keans little dig. Luckily there are still plenty of us willing to back the management team because the facts are we haven't played really badly since the bad run at the start of the year. That transition period was always going to be tough for ANYONE after the way Venky's handled Sam and then the transfer madness. Kean also had to deal with a 'minority' of fans...half of this message board (mainly little chavvy scrotes thinking we're a top 6 club)on his back from day one, simply not giving him a chance because he's not a big name in football and refused to give him any sort of chance. How dare these people show a complete lack of respect to someone who has worked in football all his life and done all the qualifications he needs to do this job, working under managers for years and doing his badges. Yes he perhaps started his management career a bit high, but it was the owners choice, they bought the club and can put who they want in charge.

Facts...

We play much better football now than under Sam, why?...Kean

We look like we aren't going to fold against the bigger clubs now, why?...Kean

We have a much better squad than last season now, why?....Kean

We have had one of the best Transfer periods in the last few months for years, Rochina, Formica, Dann, Yakubu, Petrovic, Vucnevic (Think about it for one second about some the pearls our previous managers have bought....Grabbi, Baggio and countless other crap players from Souness...Jeffers, Berner,Rigters,Bothroyd,Kuqi from Hughes...Andrews, Villaneuva, Grella from Ince...Van Heerden, Jacobsen, Linganzi,Chimbonda,Basturk,Benjani,Goulon from Allardyce....it's funny because most of Kean's signings are young, fans favourites in their previous clubs, all for a good price with bags of future potential and sell on value) why?...Kean

We ended the season very strongly, and have looked good this season despite being desperately unlucky at times, playing good football, why?...Kean

It really is so funny how stupid people are wanting big name managers when, as many people who actually can take themselves away from fantasy football realise, we have a young manager here now, he deserves a real chance and support from the whole club including the fans. The players are clearly behind him. He might have a good season now and turn out to be a much sought after manager in the future and I'm sure he wouldn't think twice about jumping ship after the way he is being treated by this 1% of morons.

Get behind him and the team and support Rovers. It's a club and it's not about one individual. The more you idiots carry on this little game the more likely the rest of the real fans will turn on you at the games as the majority of us are here to support the club like we always have.

One last question, if we missed those two penalties against Everton under Mark Hughes would everyone blame his 'absolute irresponsibe management'? Would...they....f***

What have we done? We've supported the manager and the team just like the owners have asked us to.

Not gone against the manager after 4 games in to the new season and protesting like idiots and making us the laughing stock of the PL.

You keep saying we are the 'laughing stock of the PL', most other fans couldn't care less about BRFC, what it has done has concentrated minds, Kean has been rattled and he knows the fanbase won't be placated with BS, we need results.

FACTS- we have won a handful of league games in 9 months.

FACTS- we have played 'good' football in a handful of games

FACTS- They were not just 'chavy scrotes', pathetic you would label them so.

FACT- I've hardly heard a good word against Kean in months away from brfcs- does that mean they were all marching? No, but to say 19500 are Kean supporters and a few hundred were against him is complete BS.

As for the rest of the fanbase, that ground was ready to turn when we were being outplayed 1st half- why? Because most of the fans, react on a game by game basis.

If we had lost yesterday, those backing Kean would be saying 'well, he just can't get results, think he should go', we win 'BRILLIANT!!!! Better than Sam ever was, the football is quality!!!!!', some of us however, don't kneejeerk game by game.

As I don't have an 'agenda' against Kean, as I'm not remotely 'in the know', he has to do one thing for me- win football matches.

If he can do that on a consistent basis, then of course he stays and we move on.

Let's not kid ourselves, it would take a bad run of Derby County proportions for Venky's to even consider outsung him, if such a run did come about, no new manager could save us. So, we just have to pray he gets a grip and fast.

70% of voters want him gone. His win record is circa 22%. Too many people are just ignoring last seasons.

I'm not chav so you're incorrect.

I and many fans start the new season with a clean slate.

We all start afresh on zero points.

90% of the marchers were under 25. The 'I want it all and want it now' generation.

Idiots, morons, chavs blah blah blah! I ain't a chav and neither is my son, in fact there were a lot of families on the protest who certainly didn't seem like 'chavs' so get your facts right!

The people on the protest were normal passionate supporters who want the best for the club and will continue to vehemently support the rovers.

Let's get things in perspective here and not get carried away, we have won one game! The next few games will be interesting, kean needs more of the same, and whilst I don't particularly like the man, I will judge him on his results and I would be delighted to see us go on a decent run.

Fantastic post!

Apart from the abuse, this echoes my opinions. Under Big Sam I dreaded coming to Rovers because it was boring, predictable rubbish. He didn't want to be our manager and advertised himself for any other job away from the club. Rightly he was sacked because he too was alienating supporters from the club and he conducted himself as negative and defeatist at any given opportunity. His signings were largely pretty damned awful too (as mentioned above) and we embarassingly rolled over and died against the bigger clubs and looked to snatch victories against teams of similar standing to ourselves.

We now have a manager who is very much a PR man (Pro Rovers) and rather than telling the world that we are naff focusses on the positives. He bloods the young players he is familiar with from the training pitches, gets rid of the dead wood and hangers on and appears to have a good eye for a young player from the continent. Hoilett has become a star (don't forget it was Big Sam and JW that only gave him a 2 year deal - lack of belief perhaps?) The standard of football has massively improved and so long as you aren't wracked with fear and insecurity you don't hang on the words of Mark "I'll get a prediction right one day" Lawrenson or believe the bullshit Alan Nixon feeds you then you don't live in fear and can see that there are far worse teams than our own and money is being reinvested in the squad for a change. To protest after 4 games was daft, after 7 games without a win - much more realistic. Some people are even suggesting sacking the "inexperienced" Kean for a Shearer and Tugay dreamteam...the same Shearer that helped take Newcastle down and the same Tugay who assisted in an awful season for Galatasary.

With every game that goes by, Kean becomes more experienced. He seems to me to be a strong character and has had to put up with hatred, mockery and negativity from day one..but he still sings the praises of the club, never blames the players (ala Big Sam) and believes in what he is trying to impliment at the club. The squad is younger with more potential than 12months ago and I am one of the many who believes he needs more time and has earned it by keeping us up last year when many others would have failed with the run in we had. These are reasons why I feel he deserves more time at the helm.

Some posters on here and other forums think that the likes of me are naive or "brainwashed" by him or we are even Venkys PR infiltrating internet forums...but strangely these fans who think they aren't brainwashed are the same ones who have bought into an evolving conspiracy theory, march on command, use polls of a hundred or so people to believe their opinion is what the masses want and until yesterday felt as if they had the majority voice. Saying that, regardless of whether it was 1% or 1.5% of people that protested yesterday there is no shame in what you have done - it is your personal belief and you felt it was the right thing to do, I don't doubt that they are 100% Rovers fans. My only wish is that the pettiness and blind hatred for Kean disappears because it does make pockets of fans look idiotic and seriously damages their credibility and weakens their arguement (which admittedly keeps changing also - is it results, drink driving or poor communication you were marching against?). Let's just judge the manager on performances or results and in my eyes we have had three decent performances in a row, great young players and 4 points in the bag...but I'm brainwashed.

i think you can put the lack of numbers down to the weather but this was a decent turn out really. I was appalled though by Kean's smug comments after the game when we was on about only 1% of the crowd being against him. Put a damper slightly on what otherwise was a fantastic day.

Kean was correct though. It was 1% ;)

Remember he is good with numbers and stats

The whole event was let down BADLY by the few who made it personal about Kean rather than his record as a manager.

Whoever made the Drink Driver signs needs to hang their heads as they undermined the whole event

IMO of course

So what did you expect him to say? We got three points, he's hardly going to turn round and say right, 1% of fans are against me, I must pack my bags immediately? Let's face it, he can't do anything right for some.

I noticed several bald heads and larger people in the protest - own goal, lads. I've always thought that berating someone for their appearance is bullying of the worst kind.

Having said that, fair play to you for standing up for your 'cause' but I really don't think we need to worry, we'll be ok.

looks a lot of people at the end.

Kean said 1% of people are unhappy meaning 99% are happy, what bull.

These sort of comments are why people don't think Kean, duluded.

Funny enough Steve Kean was in the crowd at the protesting at 11.31 and nobody even spotted him, I guess it was the last place people would look, in the crowd.

For god sake everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Football is a game of opinions afterall. I myself believe two very lucky results in one week does not cover up 9 months of horrific football/resylts and in my opinion we will be playing in a lower devision this time next year without a change in manager. If you disagree fair enough but don't force you opinion on me and I wont on you.

Another ungreatful and nonsensical anti Sam rant, excellent. They usually appear after Kean actually manages a win, so let's hope I am reading plenty more!

That certainly was not an anti-Sam rant.

Matty you and your clan are digging yourselves a hole which may become too big to escape.

If you cannot see the difference in the team now i.e. young, talented and free to express themselves, as opposed to the rigid, shackled, MOCKED, and ageing team we had under Sam (can we talk about me) Allardyce, then you are very stubborn, or don't understand football.

Fact: You no nothing about me, yet you label me a moron and a 'chavvy' scrote through your sweeping statement. You then go on to say how wrong it is to show a complete lack of respect to someone who is qualified to do a job.

I find that offensive and by your own standards - you should be banned by admin.

Most jobs have performance related targets. If you consistently fail to meet them, you would be dismissed for incompetency. Logically that benchmark has to be a minimum win ratio of around 33% - and that is just to give you a chance of fighting relegation. As the job is high profile, you would clearly be aware of the public scrutiny when accepting the post.

Fact: He failed to achieve the minimum win ratio last season.

Fact: He has won his first game in 5 this season. So we're looking at 20% win rate.

Football is accepted as a results based industry.

I appreciate that a lot of good things have happened under Kean (younger squad, more ambitious approach to games etc) and have said this previously. Indeed I was in the give him a chance brigade until it became clear he was struggling but ultimately it is points on the board that say whether he's a competent manager or not.

He may achieve a suitable win rate this season. I really hope he does as it seems he is here to stay.
