Whether there was 200 or 7,000 it was a protest by a fair number of Rovers fans and doesn't desrve to be derided by Kean. He can't assume that everyone else is behind him because I didn't see a counter demo in favour of him. Maybe the most telling number is the 2,500 by which the gate was lower than for the same game last year which was an early season saturday lunchtime kick off as well. He has bought himself some time though but I fear we are going to be going through this everytime we lose 2 games in a row this season, which may be often.

Ironically being sung by in some cases, rather portly chaps..

But there must be a simple explanation, as we are assured it wasn't a personal attack on Kean, just the results

Yes, football fans will pick on a persons appearance or faults if it's someone they don't like.

Allardyce was continually referred to as 'fat', 'a slug' by those that didn't approve of his management.

Sad? Big time, but it will never change.

Why the hatred towards them? Oh because we won the match? Does that change Kean's lack of tactics, poor win % etc?

We are all Rovers fans and hopefully the owners are now aware about the feelings of the fans and things will improve however Kean needs to improve our results for him to win the majority of fans over- I include myself in that camp.

I don't think there is any 'hatred'. The non-protesters got a fair bit of stick in the build up to the protest, being dismissed for not sharing the same view etc. The protest has happened and now it's being analysed for what it was, and how it appeared to the onlookers.

Based on the footage posted earlier the owners now know the protesting fans feelings are that the next manager should be slim and hairy

I'm a football fan who didn't particularly care for allardyce but I don't think I called him fat or a slug.

You even said yourself that they say it when it's someone they don't like, which implies you agree it was at least partially personal

We have had one of the best Transfer periods in the last few months for years, Rochina, Formica, Dann, Yakubu, Petrovic, Vucnevic (Think about it for one second about some the pearls our previous managers have bought....Grabbi, Baggio and countless other crap players from Souness...Jeffers, Berner,Rigters,Bothroyd,Kuqi from Hughes...Andrews, Villaneuva, Grella from Ince...Van Heerden, Jacobsen, Linganzi,Chimbonda,Basturk,Benjani,Goulon from Allardyce....it's funny because most of Kean's signings are young, fans favourites in their previous clubs, all for a good price with bags of future potential and sell on value) why?...Kean

I think a lot of fans accept we have the makings of a very good side, except the small contingent who write off players when they've hardly worn the shirt, but we've looked in bad shape tactically and haven't looked like getting results (the sign of a bad team is when they play well and still lose - i.e. vs. Everton), which is why responsibility falls to the manager.

I am encouraged by Kean's transfer policy and apart from the likes of Myles Anderson & Ribeiro, I'm excited by the players he's brought in and the team he's assembling. I just don't believe he's the man to take us forward and he'll need more results like yesterday to win me over.

i'm still undecided on kean but he didn't deride the protest at all with those comments. with respect to you and all others suggesting this I'm afraid it's just nonsense. he said there were 1% protesting based on the info that he had been given and it doesn't seem far out to me. there's nothing wrong with that at all.

"he's fat, he's bald, he's going on the dole" - pretty embarrassing in my opinion.

while i don't agree with the protest fair play to the fella that organised it as he conducted himself well. i just hope that kean proves him wrong.

What a pity that a win has deflected the fact that Kean is a useless manager. In the long run this win may prove detrimental to the club if it means that Kean does not get sacked.

This is one win and in many ways a fortunate one at that. The sheep who are fooled by this slimy man's smug lies and bluster after the match have forgotten the despicable record that he has had since taking over as manager on the evidence of one win.

Let us not forget that Big Sam had us in 10th place with exactly the same players that this clown nearly had us relegated with. He cannot even claim that he was unfamiliar with the players. he was already at the club.

KEAN OUT.

He didn't. But one of the players (Nelsen, I think) admitted that the players were 'all over the place' for a time after Sam left. I don't want to keep on but there were some very dodgy ref decisions as most will remember that lost us quite a few points, too.

blackpool tower is a thicko moron, who doesnt have a braincell in his/her head. shouldnt listen to the tripe she/he comes out with.

You're hardly the most eloquent yourself. At least he can write a few sentences of his opinion without resorting to swearing or insults.

King Kenny has lost 2 games on the bounce with Liverpool, I wonder if the fans will protest against him now?

Bolton have lost 2 on the bounce too. Coyle out? When's the protest????

Waste of money printing out flyers, money would have been better off spent in the club shop or going to charity. Waste of police time and my money.

Yeah, if it really needs explaining why the situations are completely different for Kean (coach trying to be a manager, 9 months of experience, made up of a majority of defeats) and Dalglish (club legend, already proven in management over 20 years, winning trophies) then I don't think it's worth wasting the time it would take to type up.

Even Coyle has proven some worth and competency - he did a cracking job on the wrong side of the M65 and even for a while last year, he did well at Bolton.

Might turn out to be a complete dud, but his record until recently has provided reason why there's no clamour for his sacking.

Never said he did. I said he couldn't. Who is responsible for decisions at the club. If not the manager then he aint the manager is he?

I didnt agree with the protest at all but can understand the frustration. I think if we were rock bottom after 8-10 games then fair enough but after only 4 it was frankly quite stupid.

I do genuinly have time for Kean. After the rubbish that we all had to endure under fat Sam I am happy to see someone come in and try and play good football. He is far from perfect and I do have my doubts about him but am prepared to give him a chance. He got his tactics right eventually yesterday. Olsson needs to play left wing and Junior in behind. Playing him wide leaves us too wide open at the back and we were over run so many times in the 1st half.

I also feel some reality is needed here at Ewood. We always are going to be a team that flirts with relagation and can only ever realistically achieve a top 9-13 finish. You only need to look at this weekends results and the table to realise what a tough league this is. Bolton are in freefall but no criticises Coyle.

My hope is that we get to xmas clear of the bottom 3 and then look to strengthen in the window. We are crying out for someone in centre mid who can put a tackle in and Salgado needs replacing. Lowe looks a decent deputy but isnt the answer long term.

Lets get behind the team, including Kean, and really crack on now.

May as well lock this thread now IMO.

Those that went on the march took an opportunity to get their point across about the manager because they felt it was the right thing to do.

If Kean turns out to be a great manager then I'll hold my hand up and gladly accept any grief for taking for my stance. As ultimately, Rovers will be the winner.

If things go wrong, then my conscience is clear.

In defence of the stats - if Keans been told 200 - 250 as many of the press have reported, then his stats fit. Doesnt look to be 700 on the march even on the video, but i wasnt there to see for myself.

If there was 700 as some fans are now claiming, I can only assume that there was a further 400 supporters out of shot behind the camera - at all times.

Regardless of how few or many supporters took part, Kean has acknowledged your existence and opinion so all was not in vain. I just don't get the feeling that results are now as important to some fans as simply having Kean's head on the chopping board so they can prove a point or have some closure. I say this because a lot of anti-Keanies don't seem to have taken anything positive out of the victory.

There was without doubt more than 300.

Anyway, on your second point, I agree entirely, he isnt going to get sacked, but he has realised that he can't just give lip service to the fans, while spouting a load of meaningless twaddle. He may have a cosy relationship with the owners, but he also has the fanbase to answet to.

And as for results not mattering, don't talk tripe, that's ALL that matters, if his record wasn't so appalling there wouldn't be a murmur of discontent. He wins matches, he's home and dry.

I listened to 606 today and whilst I thought Glen gave a reasonable account of himself Tombo was poor, he lost me totally when he mentioned winning by luck and almost sounded bitter about it.

Glen, may I ask do you enjoy your new found role in the spotlight? Is it something you wish to continue with or will you be happy when it blows over?
