Pune trip

The best thing the Pune 9 can do is to collectively advise Venky's that they will not be going as our club, if they haven't noticed, is in real crisis and they need to cancel the trip lock, stock and barrel and get their arses over here and listen to the supporters in open forum.

This would scupper what many suspect is a PR ploy.

Come on you Pune 9 - show some b@lls and tell Venky's where to go.

Then the owners will come back and say we tried to reach out to the supporters, but they declined our offer. It maybe the only chance supporters have to say to venkys face to face, that they need to sack Kean. The 9 must go, for that reason alone. In the hope venkys listen and act. An opportunity has been given and therefore must be taken, for supporters to have a say.

It depends on whats the plan when they're there. Hopefully, they will get the chance to really put the point across that their ownership has been a disaster, Kean is a fool and the fans want them to stop messing the club about. If it is just a jolly to say, 'hey Venky's feed the poor in Pune, and are nice chaps', then the Pune 9 will look like 'collaborators', even if that is not the case. If it is the latter situation, then the fans should politely leave as soon as they can.

I think the pune9 have put themselves in an awkward position now - they can do the club a big favour now by turning down this invite or they can be forever remembered as collaborators of the club's demise - because that is exactly how it will be portrayed in the pubs and streets. Time to decide your legacy - make the right decision and sacrifice the jolly!

I think you make a very good point sentient, what a statement it would send out if the anti Kean members from the forum issued a press release, saying they're not interested in meeting the owners until the manager is sacked due to his terrible record and points tally.

I understand fully the implications of this, and possible future meetings being none starters, but its an interesting thought and should raise some decent debate.

If the 9 stay together for the sake of the club and issue a statement to the effect that they feel venkys should speak to a larger section of the support at ewood then there could be no accvusation of the fans being obstinate. In fact a proper statement now from the 9 could have a massive impact - much more than the march or anything in the press to date. Or they could pass up this opportunity and go on their jolly, happy and smiley with balajis cars and stuff. Good luck!

I can see the reasoning in a way but I personally considered the pros and cons and go out with a clear conscience in the hope that we can start building towards having more open communication between the owners and fans.

It may come to nothing but it has to be worth a try in my honest opinion.

Explained already but not going over old ground.

FFS - our club, IMO, is dying and some, like you, are engaging in childish tittle tattle.

The Pune 9 can make a HUGE statement on behalf of the supporters by NOT going. Scupper the PR ploy and let the world see that the MAJORITY of supporters, IMO, are p1ssed-off about what has gone on since Venky's took over.

The Pune 9 are going with the team to Pune India, it is part of something bigger.

Ironically this may have a bigger bearing on Kean leaving than the march.

Who would you listen to a couple of hundred people shouting before a match or 9 fans giving you detailed reasons as to why Kean should go 'face to face'- this may not happen but can guess that this may arise.

Mine is not a childish retort but merely reminding you that you are in no position to tell people 'to show some balls.'

I did NOT agree with the march BUT have enormous respect for Glen and co for organising it, in fact I DM'd Glen on twitter to say just that, because he said something and then did it as opposed to being a 'keyboard warrior' on here and then bottling it... and now the cheek to tell people to 'grow a set.'

Amazing.

I was there last Saturday supporting the need for change - where were you hiding ?

Classic deflection.

I was not the one shouting the odds behind my keyboard, bottling it when the moment arose and now telling others to 'show some balls' am I? But then again can't expect anything more from someone who thought that Burnley had better support than Rovers.

Lets not fall out with each other the problem is not here, and taking lumps out of each other just makes the fans opinion weaker. Take the fight to those who have got us in the is mess

What can we do though Glen that is the question?

I have hopes that the Pune 9 may get through to the owners but that is hoping, potentially the team is a top 10 team IF it was set up correctly.

The fans forum is an unelected group of supporters who must be thanked for their efforts. However, i now feel that the Pune 9 should seek the opinions of all Rovers fans as to weather this PR stunt by Venky's is in the best interests of the club. KEAN OUT NOW

Thats very true whalley and no-one should castigate the 9 for accepting the trip just as long as they make it publicly clear (and that would now take an official statement to the press) that they go as individuals and in no-way represent "the support". Anything else would be disingenuous - nail it now and no-one will have any reason to doubt the motive of anyone.

Keyboard warrior, bottling it, deflection - which of these words do you not understand "I was there last Saturday supporting the need for change".

Look Imy, as Glen M says, we shouldn't be fighting each other. That's, IMO, what Venky's and Kean want, divide and rule.

IMO, the club's present leadership is slimey and slippery and, as I said in earlier posts this evening, I believe the Pune 9 can make a huge statement by collectively declining the visit.

We need ideas that will help make a difference.

This isn't a flippant question but how many of the nine that are going went to Newcastle today? If any of you went then you will have seen why our team is heading for the Championship. We are in the biggest crisis we have been in for over a decade and you will be in a position to make our owners aware of this and potentially do something about it before it's too late. If you aren't prepared to stick your necks out and tell the owners what the majority of us feel then please don't go.

I actually think the refusal of the invite to Pune would deliever the biggest message of all, Ok it would be a disappointment for those going, but the impact on "Fans matter" Would speak volumes. In fact I can't think of a bigger message that could be sent, It would hit the Bullseye and have the owners sit up and take notice.

The trip will go ahead as planned - unless the Rao's "postpone it" if results continue to go as they have. Which really would be embarrassing.

The FF are really in a lose-lose position on this one, and have been ever since Venky's made the offer and swore them to secrecy.

The only thing that will shut the dissenters up is results. Not PR stunts, not smoke screens, not hollow words, not positive thinking, not hugs and smiles, not houses in Bolton, not meaningless number-of-times-in-the-box stats, not radio phone-ins, not brow-beating from the recently-convinced.

Results.

Glen, don't get me wrong but I'm 99% sure that if you were sitting on an invite you wouldn't be giving it up out of principle.

Spot on Ricky,he's had his knickers in a twist ever since the Pune 9 news leaked out.Someone more cynical than me might suggest there's a faint whiff of sour grapes...

I certainly would.

I can also see the value in both going to Pune and boycotting the trip, not an easy one is it....

I actually think Glen has a point, but it is too good an opportunity to pass up, a chance to have an audience with the owners. However in saying that, they should hold the meeting in Blackburn!

Its the only chance we will actually have a chance to say to the owners what we think, but I really dont think they will listen. They love Kean and showed as much in the TV comments and their actions after the match in the box.

Its like Kean is part of the family and in India, families stick together!

Spot on, why fly 9 people to Pune when they're coming over for games more regularly
