Time for the Pune 9 to get real and see that this s a PR stunt by Venkys and by going it endorses their actions. SHOCK VENKYS by not going. It may be the only way they will see sense.

Did you not read my reply a few posts ago or did you simply ignore it?

It may be "the only way they'll see sense", or may result in setting the relationship between the fans and the owners back a massive amount and deny the fans a rare opportunity (up to this point, with the current owners or the previous ones) to actually engage with the owners? I know which outcome is more likely and which one is ultimately likely to benefit Rovers more. So ultimately you're asking me to do something I believe genuinely will hurt the club.

For good or for bad, we are owned by Venky's now. If they want to hear what the fans think and this trip achieves it (even if it isn't the optimal way of achieving it), I'm not going to spit my dummy and hope some kind of empty gesture has more of an effect than actually interacting with them.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I have read an entire forum's worth of feedback (plus the people I talk to at games), some I agree with, some I don't, but all of which I feel confident I can articulate the reasoning behind why they feel like they do.

I also don't think anyone is refusing to talk about it, I think they are rightly worried that anything they say, will be dissected and any used against them. You know quite a few of the people going, you know they'd happily talk to you about it in person about it all as you're not going to stitch them up for some badly phrased, off the cuff comment, but there are plenty on here who would.

I take your points on-board Glenn, its a difficult situation as I've stated several times, but it does create some decent debate.

Knowing the members as I do, I have nothing but the upmost confidence they'll be able to do the job in hand, thats never been in question.

Will the board members who are attending be prepared to ask the awkward questions we all need answers to?.......................

The fans forum have a mandate to discuss off field issues SG, so that fact alone means several burning questions probably won't be asked.

How do the Venky's perceive members of the fans forum?

Do they see them as leaders of the fans, influential fans?

Do they think that by pacifying the FF with this trip that in turn it will temper the mood of the support in general?

I still can't get my head round the value of the trip to India. It isn't going to build bridges with the fanbase.

I'm sure that mandate does not forbid them from speaking of other matters Gav,we need people who are prepared to ask THE questions that matter.

I have no doubt that some will be starry eyed as Balaji gives them a guided tour of his motors :D

I believe that was already answered when Dave Birch asked it.

Whilst certainly true of the FF meetings, we have of yet no idea what form it'll take place in in India. A less formal setting may widen (or for I know narrow) the potential scope. It would be wrong to guess at this stage.

No not at all, I said i quote

Wonder what the Pro Kean camp think of that? Another shocking display 8 goals conceded in a week, and Krul had nothing to do,

There is a Prop Kean camp so nothing wrong with that

Shocking today, and I blame it on the Pro Kean camp, last week they had a chance to stand together, that chance may have gone.

Fans had an opportuntity last week to publically air their views if they support Kean or not

I'm saying that Kean is saying that 99% fans are behind him

As only a few publically Wanted Kean out he came up with this statistic

Kean used that as the statistic, Rightly or wrongly that is what the press believes

If Kean is saying 99% of fans are behind him, then it shows that a percentage of that 99% has not voiced opinion

A true statement

If if its ok for people to give me grief for over a week, becuase I organised a March, and throw Keans statistics at me on a daily basis, the I think i'm quite right to give those statistics back to those who are complaining today.

So saying "I blame it on the pro Kean camp" is not blaming anyone and is standing together?

I'm not saying you can't say what you want - but frankly saying stuff like that then telling other people that we need to stand together doesn't quite fit to me. And there is a 3rd group you know - those that are NOT pro Kean and who didn't support your march. And I'm one of them. In fact I'll go as far as to say that if the people going to Pune explain exactly what the problems are with Steve Kean and put their points sensibly and logically they will have a much higher chance of swaying the Rao's opinion than any march or demonstration will.

Haven't been on here for a while but just catching up. Funny reading through the read, what starts as a great idea has become a publicity stunt and there's a lot of negativaty towards both the idea and the fans who are going.

Makes no sense to me and smacks of jealousy.

I can't believe the group going will be able to hold back and not mention that the Rovers fans want rid of Kean. I mean, what power do Venkys have over these fans? Nothing, absolutely nothing.

Enjoy the experience, the Kingfishers and the Chicken Tikka (the best you'll ever have tasted), and let the fans be heard.

It's funny you should mention that. I've been re-reading a lot threads from start to finish recently and it's it's amazing how "popular opinion" changes with seeming no outside influence (Kean is an exception as obviously results and PR coverage HAVE influenced). I mentioned this to a psychologist friend and she said that "conformity" of this type is quite a common thing and I should go read up on the Asch_conformity_experiments.

Irrelevant to the discussion, but your point just reminded me of it.

The Pune 9 will be done-up like a kipper if they go.

Sky team going - smacks of one big PR exercise to mask over the state of our club.

As said before, by not going, the Pune 9 would make a huge statement on behalf of our club.

Its easy to throw around the jealously card DP, but quite simple from my perspective you’re wrong, very wrong.

Let us not forget Gary Nevilles house has been bought by the owners, surely that would be a more suitable location to hold talks, for hard working men and women now using leave and abandoning loved ones for the trip to India.

If it was me I’d invite the owners to every fans forum from here on in and have the meet on our terms, not their terms like this clearly is.

The club is riding on a high, is it?

Unbelievable.

"Venky’s director Balaji Rao said in a statement on Monday.

“And perhaps the visit now could not have been better timed. The club is riding on a high after its big win over Arsenal, and the players are eager to share the glory with their Indian fans.”"

"Share the glory" ?!?! Good grief.
