S60tti_BRFC Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 Being deadly serious Man of the Match has to be the Pune goalkeeper! If venky's want an Indian player - get him signed up as 3rd choice goal keeper!
AllRoverAsia Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 The commentator is a classic. On Samba - ''you wouldn't want to pick an argument with him in a dark alley''
BPF Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 Blackman and Anderson are awful. Can't even do the basics.
perthblue02 Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 Blackman and Anderson are awful. Can't even do the basics. Go to agree with the above was Anderson (15) supposed to be playing left back? he was anywhere but that position, anyway he's a late developer so by the time he's 30 he will be div 2 standard and the way things are going that's were we will be then, so Kean's long term planning has pulled off a masterstoke. The Pune keeper def man of the match Despite all the hype over there looked a pretty poor attendance for a match involving the first premiership team to play in India
mark1875 Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 those who wanted to watch the game it was easily found as it was being beamed live accross india on their channel ten action their goalkeeper was amazing lol, that commentator needs a phone call from sky sports he was hilarious
Makey11 Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 all credit to the pune keeper! made 5 or 6 quality saves! also get that commentator over to work over here!!! He'd be better than anyone on MOTD!!!!
Tim Southampton Rover Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 I enjoyed watching Rovers play Pune. It was obviously a big deal to the Indian fans over there because to pay 500/1000 rupees to watch a game is quite a lot of money to the average man. To get 15,000-20,000 in the stadium paying those figures is pretty impressive. Well done Rovers for making history in India. Wasn't the greatest of games but we had a young team who will gain a lot from this experience and more importantly everybody enjoyed themselves and we head home with no injuries. P.S - Kean - sign up their keeper! What a performance! BTW, I dont know why people are having a go at Myles Anderson. He didn't do anything bad or good today, all he did was pass it to Slew (who looked impressive) and kept it simple. Blackman, however, was dreadful!
unclejack28 Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 Hey sorry guys really bad network at the ground. Kean out banner was awsome all credit to the guys.. We said a lot on tv about steve kean, hoefully it gets aired. Match was ok we should have scored a few more they got a red early on.. Surprisingly formica was quite as was zac.. Hoillet looked ok but kept getting blocked.. Robers didn't really deserve his 2 goals but could have scored more.. Anderson/blackman were out of the game too.. Slew looked quick when he was on. But the man of the match was rochina by a mile.. Anwways all in all it was awsome seeing blackburn on indian soil.. Surprisingly there were many kids wearing the rovers colors... I think the game had a very positive impact on the blackburn name in india.. Booklets of the teams players and faces along with the history of the club were given out at ht.. Along with these annoying venkys whistles. Credit to team and venkys it must be said
Muddboy Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 Two things about the game: 1 Who forgot to pack Bunn's goalkeeping strip? 2 India is an untapped market that Rovers could really reach out to? Okay. So why did I see more than a couple of Chelsea shirts in the crowd? Rovers obviously aren't as big a draw in India as Venky's think...
Tim Southampton Rover Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 Obviously it isnt going to take a couple of trips to build a fan base especially when teams like Man U, Liverpool, Chelsea are on TV all the time over there. It's going to take years but at least we are taking our opportunity to break into the lucrative market. Be patient and let's see what happens.

It'd be a good start if we had a competent manager and a team not languishing in the relegation zone.
Hughesy Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 Can anyone confirm that Jerome Anderson has been spotted? He is India so I would imagine he is.....trying his hardest to worm his way back in.....not working so far! EXACTLY When the Indian media realise its international week - they will understand why we had alot of 1st teamers missing. Get a full tour set up for the summer, with 4 or 5 games set up in MASSIVE stadiums.....watch the impact that has on India then and our support over there. Our own fans wont pay out £200 for a season ticket so they have to try and make money elsewhere and attract Indian companies for sponsorship deals too!
chaddyrovers Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 He is India so I would imagine he is.....trying his hardest to worm his way back in.....not working so far! Why was he in India for tho??? what reason was he there for??? Is he back with the owners being an advisor to them???

Mattyblue Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 And how's that going to happen after relegation Hughesy?

Which will all be fine IF we are still a Premier League side. Got to concentrate on the basics first
Iceman Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 It would have been interesting, if Venkys didn't pay for the trip, but invited fans over, how many would have gone without knowing what's on the agenda. The purpose of the Pune 9 was not to build relationships with the owners, because its their baby, and they should know how to take care of their baby when its born. You don't just leave your baby unattended, you ensure your baby is well looked after. you also talk to your baby all the time, and over time the baby will understand and will grow up healthy and strong. Right now, their baby is being neglected and 9 baby sitters have been called in to help them understand the situation. At present they are bad parents the Venkys

martonrover Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 the kean out picture in Pune http://yfrog.com/h773219098j Brilliant, good lads. We should have a whip round to bring them over for the Spurs game
yoda Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 Brilliant, good lads. We should have a whip round to bring them over for the Spurs game Are you suggesting the Venky's won't pay for it
perthblue02 Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 the kean out picture in Pune http://yfrog.com/h773219098j Quality! Respect to them
martonrover Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 Are you suggesting the Venky's won't pay for it No because like John Jensen they're no longer part of 'the family'.
