Battersby was the bloke who gave Kean the easiest of rides on Radio Lancs.

Yep and many fans found that embarrassing.

Battersby has been in and around footballers for many years with connections to the likes of Garner, O'Keefe and Hendry - in fact I think he was Hendry's 'business manager', or similar, at one time. Also, I believe, a mate of Nicko's !!!

In 'normal' circumstances, usually speaks his mind, not sure if he gets a bit 'dazzled by the glamour' though.

My daily plea for folks to hold fire until the guys and gals are safely back from Pune.

Come on philipl, you've been the biggest critic of the regime throughout the past 12 months, asking for patience now does make me chuckle :D

It seems like the guys who have gone to Pune have done as much as they can to put the fans' viewpoint directly across to the Raos, so well done to them.

I don't think it'll make a difference in the end, Venky's have shown nothing to suggest they really care what the fans think when it comes to making footballing decisions. The proof will, so to speak, be in the pudding. The ball is in Venky's court now - they have no excuse. They aren't ignorant, they aren't naive and they aren't uninformed. Any mistake now it a mistake made with them being in full possession of the facts regarding our situation and full knowledge of how the fans feel.

It's your move, Venky's. You better make it a good one.

Surely, even Venkys cannot consider Kean to be glamorous !

I can confidently say what has been Asked today has been exactly what people on here have wanted to be asked including quoting percentages and the dangers of continuously ignoring the situation along with other issues.

I am also confident the messages have been heard.

People can and will still say it has been pointless but I genuinely feel we have done what I personally wanted to and express my and other fans concerns and thoughts.

Fair enough Tom but what were the fans feeling's about travelling all that way,in your own time, and not being able to meet the Rao's in person to get the points across?.Do you not feel as a collective the least they could have done was welcome you all at the airport.....

If I was Venkys and they don't sack Kean then the only way to get results would be to sacrifice one of the Pune 9, we don;t need all 9 to come back.

"They have come of their own free will to the appointed place" = all of them

"Someone who has come here with the power of a king" moderators and admin so Tom M, Glenn, Ste B

"A man who would come here as a virgin..." who's the youngest Tom M.

Sorry Tom M your the best match, process of elimination, we need results and could do with a good harvest.

Say hello to your new home:

I dont want to say much till we get back but we didnt hold back and I'm confident we raised everything.

Excellent. Thank you, guys. I'm not holding out much hope as Venkys appear long on words and short on positive (Kean Out!) action, but at least you tried.

Sorry for being skeptical about the whole trip, but I'll be convinced when the results on the park are positive.

We've (as a club) got a long way to go before things are on an even keel.

Exactly. And I don't see this happening anytime soon. The odd win, yes. Survival as a PL club, it's not in the cards unless Venkys act ASAP.

Scott Dann was bought on the never neverest of never never deals.

What does this mean?

As you haven't a clue who these people are you might try being respectful. Ian C is not a "fan" " and most definitely a true Blackburn Rovers supporter. I don't know the other person.

Personally I've been hoping Ian Currie's name would come up for months, there are several people on here who will confirm I've talked about this privately.

Ian is a successful stockbroker, lives locally, the whole family are die-hard Rovers fans, he has a background in finance. They can be found at every home game and frequently away.

For me this is the best news since the Rao family bought the club. Far, far more important than anything else we have heard. If the Raos couldn't meet the FF because they were busy talking to these guys I'm happy.

A step in the right direction without a doubt. A seat on the board for these two will hopefully introduce a steadying hand on the financial tiller and add some much needed know how to the owners. Lets hope Ian C and Batts have the strength needed to make a difference.

Message to the Pune 9 - in your talks with the owners rep did you make it clear that 95%+ of fans are against Kean? And also that if they back him much longer, then fans will really turn against them??

Lets be specific - 95% of fans on this web site that voted are against Kean.

Somehow, if fan pressure is to tell, you have to convince the owners that it is the vast majority of Rovers fans, not just that vote on an independant web site.

How would you go about doing that?

I did suggest a petition/poll prior to the match - success would possibly depend on the weather.

Alternatively, if there is to be another march - it would have to be far better attended than the last.

Without something to show that it is the vast majority - I am sure Kean will spin it.

That's the problem, a march will never attract more than a relatively small number. The loud chanting, followed by the sit in had a big impact. Every media outlet covered it and there was not a chance Kean could spin it.

I couldn't agree more Mattyblue. The protests which capture the attention of the media are those which are spontaneous and a direct reaction to what is going on on the pitch. The protests in the 1970s and 1980s weren't pre-planned but happened on the day during and after the match. The march prior to the Arsenal match, while well intentioned, was small in number and lost any impact after the team won. It gave the manager every opportunity to put a positive spin on events. As you say, there was no way he could spin the chanting against City. When those in the Jack Walker Upper start rebelling there's no chance of putting a positive spin on things ;)
