Mercer
The ONLY part that really hurts me is NOT the comment that "the protesters should be embarrassed and are a disgrace to the club" That is his opinion to which he is entitled to it..But he tells people on how we should behave in society as club supporters should do there club prowd..TRUE.. BUT WHAT HURTS IS HIS OMISSION!! That he is trying to defend a drink driver!! If he also mentions that the club should be ashamed to have a drink driver as a role model, then fair comment to him but to take sides makes him look naive and a hypocrite.. IMO, this is typical Gally stuff - for various reasons, never favoured the guy. I believe he just bends with the wind and covets a place on the Rovers' coaching staff. I believe he just bends with the wind and covets a place on the Rovers' coaching staff. I have supported him and chanted his name and also not forgotten that he had a plate placed in his leg after he broke his leg for the second time playing for us..Supporting your team is one thing supporting a failure is another.. If Gallagher had reported that the club should be ashamed of having a drink driver as a role model for those attending games young and old then I would be happy that he has balanced the books.. Does he really want a drink driver as a role model for his daughters?? That is why Kean will NEVER win me over..

I think we're aware he's a convicted drink-driver thanks...no need to incessantly over-egg the pudding,he's been convicted and sentenced. Justice has been served I'd suggest. I think anybody who has even casually read this forum over the last couple of months or so will know that if Gallacher had called the protesters heroes and rounded on Kean and the owners you would have been perfectly happy with him. deryck guyler's spoon
outside the Old Firm, who has any interest in any derby? North London, Liverpool etc all seem pretty tame to me. Just because east Lancs isn't a high profile area doesn't mean that passions aren't roused at derby time. And as someone that has lived in the area for years and has a lot of Rovers fans as pals, Gallagher knows very well I'm not saying, and I dont think Gallacher is, that passions arent aroused for the East Lancs derby. I think his point is that "proper" derbies resonate throughout the country and even the footballing world. Ours most certainly dosnt. I quite like his comments, it probably wound up the Yahoos up in the hills no end.

Andy
You're probably right. Even the whole groundstaff team have been invited out, just for the sake of it.
Mattyblue
No, what he said degsy if I recall, was something on the lines of 'well for a derby, there wasn't much atmosphere or passion' that was certianly true of the Clampetts both at Ewood and over there, but our fans were outstanding home and away. As I said, he prefers the talksport approach.

As an employee I can assure you no one from the Telegraph has, as yet, been invited to/been to Pune. Closest we've had was chief reporter meeting Mrs Desai in The Lowry in Manchester! It's a publicity stunt and to broaden the name of Blackburn Rovers in India and all the players, staff etc have been invited over.

Rover_Shaun
I remember reading Gally saying in the telegraph what a big derby the Rovers burnley derby was in this area etc etc. So who said he thinks it's not a big derby is talking out of their best face As for his comments on the protest he's one of many who just see the protest coming after 4 league games when it's all about the last 9 months. However he is right that the kean is bald and fat, kean is a drink driver and we want our rovers back chants were embarrassing
ABBEY
Christ sake ozman let the drink drive rest Ffs ! It happens , not condoning it but it happens, lying in court is more despicable . I didn't hand your drink driver posters out as they were embarrassing!
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted September 23, 2011 Moderation Lead Share Posted September 23, 2011 Is this the same Kevin Gallacher who bangs on about that Glaswegian religious war masquerading itself as a derby? The best thing about the East Lancs derby is the lack of frequency of the meetings, cranks up the intensity that little extra
