1. Who do you think NUFC Should worry the most about on Saturday and why?

Junior Hoilett - Because he's been far and away our best player for the past two seasons and is absolutely devastating if you allow him to run at your defense.

2. Who should we least worry about and why?

Jason Roberts? Assuming he gets onto the pitch, because he's the worst finisher in the league.

3. What player do you think will cause you most problems and why?

I think Demba Ba will bag a few this season, so he could cause us a few problems. Saying that Newcastle have quite a few good players, Coloccini and the Taylors make a strong defence, Tiote is a Big Sam signing, and is therefore a real midfield general, Cabaye could turn out to be a really good signing and Gutierrez has skills in his locker to change games.

4. Which player do you see causing you the least and why?

Obertan and Shola Ameobi, both are really poor strikers.

5. Where do you see yourselves finishing this year?

11th

6. And where can you see NUFC Finishing.

13th

7. After your great win against Arsenal last time out, has opinions changed to your manager?

Not really, the majority of fans surveyed on every Rovers site i visit still want him out. The Arsenal game was brilliant, but we where mighty lucky to win it.

8. What do you think of Newcastle's current manager Alan Pardew?

Its... Alan Pardew. He isn't exactly anything special, he's like Alan Curbishley but has achieved less. He may be a good thing for Newcastle - last time you where in this league you had a very weird (and slightly frightening) fascination about how big of a club you where, and an arrogance to other clubs who granted, get much smaller crowds, but have been far more successful in recent times. Hopefully looking at Pardew will remind these arrogant fans about where you are in the food chain.

9. Finally, what are your predictions and scorers?

Newcastle 1 - 2 Rovers

Ba (Header, 39') - Hoilett (Through ball from Yakubu, 18'), Simon (Free Kick, 87')

See you there, J*B.

1. Definitely Hoilett, especially if he plays on the right. Left back seems to be one of your weak points this season.

2. Mauro Formica if he plays. Good player but is usually anonymous away from home.

3. If Tiote is on form then we might not see much of the ball in midfield, we don't have the power and determination to stand up him without a Jermaine Jones figure. Also, Obertan could tear Givet to pieces if he's on the right wing, Givet can't handle fast players.

4. I think Samba and Dann could have the beating of your strikers, they're not easily out-muscled and this seems to be the biggest threat your strikers pose.

5. 18th. The squad is good enough, the management isn't.

6. Around 8th. If you can keep Ben Arfa fit and sign a striker in January you could be the surprise package and finish even higher.

7. Not really. It's obvious he still has the players onside, which I was beginning to doubt. Luck was the biggest factor in the win though.

8. Seems like he's done an excellent job under the circumstances; some shrewd signings and seems to be slowly winning over the fans, who were understandably irate after Hughton's dismissal.

9. Historically we do ok there, so I'll go for a 1-1 draw. Obertan and Samba the scorers.

Hi all,

I am a writer for a Newcastle fansite and would love to know your thoughts on our upcoming fixture this weekend. If you have the time please feel free to answer the few questions below. Thanks in advance and thanks for your time.

1. Who do you think NUFC Should worry the most about on Saturday and why?

Junior Hoilett- one of the best attacking players to come out of Ewood in years.

2. Who should we least worry about and why?

Jason Roberts- have you seen the man play?

3. What player do you think will cause you most problems and why?

Cheikh Tiote- very impressed with him last season when we played you at Ewood.

4. Which player do you see causing you the least and why?

Danny Simpson- he hardly shone on loan here...

5. Where do you see yourselves finishing this year?

15th, won't be a classic....

6. And where can you see NUFC Finishing.

Mid-table, got a decent enough squad.

7. After your great win against Arsenal last time out, has opinions changed to your manager?

One game at a time... :rover:

8. What do you think of Newcastle's current manager Alan Pardew?

Done a good job in difficult circumstances, brought in some decent players after losing some big players i.e Carroll/Enrique/Barton/Nolan

9. Finally, what are your predictions and scorers?

1-1, Samba for us, Best for you. He's been in good form of late.

Many thanks

Mike

Hi all,

I am a writer for a Newcastle fansite and would love to know your thoughts on our upcoming fixture this weekend. If you have the time please feel free to answer the few questions below. Thanks in advance and thanks for your time.

1. Who do you think NUFC Should worry the most about on Saturday and why?

Hoilett will exploit any weakness at full back you may have. His ability to switch wings now makes him doubley dangerous ask Djourou.

2. Who should we least worry about and why?

Slight weakness in Centre Mid. Grella stills gives the ball away far too much and his inability to take the ball off the back four leaves them isolated. If he doesn't play it will be Petrovic, alongside N'zonzi, who seems to becoming a target for the Rovers Boo Boys already. He seems to me to just be adjusting to the faster pace of the Premiership but some have already wrote him off.

3. What player do you think will cause you most problems and why?

I was gutted we didnt get Demba Ba in the summer but he doesn't seem to have started that well for you. Tiote is the player I would most like off you lot though. He looks the complete centre midfielder.

4. Which player do you see causing you the least and why?

I think like us you are lacking up front. I don't see Best and Lovenkrands causing us to many problems(cue Best hat trick). You seemed to be linked with every stiker in the summer like ourselves and also like us you ended up settling.

5. Where do you see yourselves finishing this year?

Million dollar question. 10th would be amazing at this moment but I would settle for being safe a couple of games before the end of the season as last year was horrendous. I do think though given time Kean can mould this squad into a decent unit. With Vukevic, Rochina, Hoilett and Formica we have never had so many creative players.

6. And where can you see NUFC Finishing.

With the way you have started no reason you can't finish top half but you need to turn St James into a fortress as too often it seems your own players can become nervous there if the crowd begins to turn. The derby match for you against the Mackams was massive for you as you seem to have kicked on from there. I saw the game against Villa and you should have won. The amount of chances you had showed the difference of spending 10million on a striker and not.

7. After your great win against Arsenal last time out, has opinions changed to your manager?

A little but I tend to think if the players are behind the manager then he should stay and the players seem to want to run through brick walls for him at the moment as Hoilett showed against Fulham when he bounced off Their Man mountain keeper.

8. What do you think of Newcastle's current manager Alan Pardew?

Steady hands for once. Seems to me the worst thing you could've done is go back down the big name route. Evolution not revoulution seems the way forward for you and ourselves.

9. Finally, what are your predictions and scorers?

Heart says we nick it 2-1 head says more likely one a piece.

Many thanks

Mike

Welcome to BRFCS

1. Who do you think NUFC Should worry the most about on Saturday and why?

Chris Samba best CD not playing for a top 4 team, yes he is better than Gary Cahill

2. Who should we least worry about and why?

Roberts and all of our midfield apart from Junior Hoilett

3. What player do you think will cause you most problems and why?

This would have been a no brainer for Barton as he would boss our midfield off the park no problem at all but obviously he is not there. Yohan Cabaye looks a very very good buy for you guys will cause Rovers massive problems. I would have said Ba but he does not seem to be that interested in playing for the shirt seen him play twice for Newc and been disappointed both times.

4. Which player do you see causing you the least and why?

Like Rovers, Newc have a list of players who are not Premiership Quality,Alan Smith, Nile Ranger and of course Shola Ameobi

5. Where do you see yourselves finishing this year?

If we are lucky 15th with our current manager.

6. And where can you see NUFC Finishing.

If you can get a striker can see you easily finish 11th

7. After your great win against Arsenal last time out, has opinions changed to your manager?

100% NOT I think we will loose to Newc and Man City and then the pressure will be right back on. If we go a goal or two down we tend to have no plan B or have a lot of fight. He has made some good signings but I don't he has the nouse to keep us up.

8. What do you think of Newcastle's current manager Alan Pardew?

I like Pardew not likely to upset players or come out with out landish statements of intent, not sure he is backed enough by the board thou.

9. Finally, what are your predictions and scorers?

Scoring the first goal will be all important, while I want Rovers to win, I just can't see it. Newc are undefeated so will be a tough game. so I will go 2-0 Newc. 2nd goal goes in and Rovers will give up.

Hi all,

I am a writer for a Newcastle fansite and would love to know your thoughts on our upcoming fixture this weekend. If you have the time please feel free to answer the few questions below. Thanks in advance and thanks for your time.

1. Who do you think NUFC Should worry the most about on Saturday and why?

Hi!

Hoilett is the unanimous choice at the moment. I remeber seeing over the summer newcastle were linked to him and few of your fellow fans scoffed at a 'journeyman player' being of interest to Pardew. They were wrong to scoff - this guy, if he keeps fitness and focus - will play in the Champions League for sure one day. Outstanding dribble and control, lighting (I mean as fast as Walcott) pace and acceleration, and a real verve for clever positoning down the flanks in between centreback and full back. Not the best shot or cross on him but he is improving on that front. Scored quite a few last season including an effort (whisper it) against Wolves that Messi would have been proud of.

After last weeks defensive shambles on left wing against Arsenal he should move into a free role behind Yakubu which suits him better I think. The young Canadian and the Yak could make a fearsome strike duo.

2. Who should we least worry about and why?

Our central midfield and full back positions are very weak and our formation doesn't help them. If you try and double up down the flanks, or get a man in between our midfield and defence you will have a lot of joy. We find it hard to be authoratative in the middle of the park without the two Joneses who were with us last season.

3. What player do you think will cause you most problems and why?

Tiote if he can dominate the midfield. Which he almost certainly will....

4. Which player do you see causing you the least and why?

Your strikers seem weak.

5. Where do you see yourselves finishing this year?

Anyones guess at the moment. We don't seeme to have settled into a system yet so it is hard to assess how good we are. Almost definately in the bottom third though unless our young players (Petrovic, Lowe, Morris, Nzonzi) really find form consistently in our weak positions. We also need a couple of leaders badly in midfield.

6. And where can you see NUFC Finishing.

Again hard to say. Letting Barton and Nolan go was a mistake. You need better strikers. Lets see how it pans out for a few games.

7. After your great win against Arsenal last time out, has opinions changed to your manager?

Of course. Football by its nature is up and down. I had come round to the idea of wanting him out last week, now after the win I am thinking he deservers a couple more games. Key for me is that he gets the shape and the energy of the side right. I have grave concerns about that as we have looked leggy and stretched at times, and some of our midfield defending has been shocking. If he wants to keep his job he needs to drill the players much better.

That said he has brought real talent to the club and brought through quality young players from the academy.

8. What do you think of Newcastle's current manager Alan Pardew?

Solid, steady, not very exciting. Almost the exact opposite of Kean who sort of comes across as a child in a sweetshop sometimes...

9. Finally, what are your predictions and scorers?

2-2 sounds about right.

Many thanks

Mike

Thanks you!

Any chance you could answer your own questions but in reverse?!

Cheers,

Ian

1. Who do you think NUFC Should worry the most about on Saturday and why?

Most of our attacks are either started or finished by Junior Hoilett

2. Who should we least worry about and why?

Michel Salgado. The floppy haired legend is sadly past his sell-by-date

3. What player do you think will cause you most problems and why?

May be too soon for Ben Arfa? Anybody with pace attacking our full backs will worry me

4. Which player do you see causing you the least and why?

Probably tempting fate but Shola Ameobi. The guy just isn't Premier League quality

5. Where do you see yourselves finishing this year?

15th

6. And where can you see NUFC Finishing.

15th-10th History shows that the strongest starters rarely keep it up though the full season. Look at West Brom and Bolton last year.

7. After your great win against Arsenal last time out, has opinions changed to your manager?

I think the media completely missed the point as to why we are so against Kean after last weeks protest. His record, even after last Saturday, is extremely poor. If he can take us on a run of 6 or 7 wins before christmas, I think a lot of people will change their minds. Cannot see it happening though sadly.

8. What do you think of Newcastle's current manager Alan Pardew?

I was as shocked as anyone when he replaced Hughton but you can only judge a manager on results - and so far he is doing a quietly impressive job in a very tough job

9. Finally, what are your predictions and scorers?

Rovers have a fantastic recent record in the North East. I can see the momentum of last week steering us towards a decent result but with the form you boys are in I cannot really see us winning. We have been scoring goals but equally we are guaranteed to concede at least one so I will go with a 2-2 draw. Yakubu and Hoilett for Rovers, Best and Demba Ba for Newcastle.

1. Who do you think NUFC Should worry the most about on Saturday and why?

Probably Junior Hoillett, is looking lively now he has got up to match speed and has enough ability to turn Danny Simpson inside out

2. Who should we least worry about and why?

I'd normally say Jason Roberts but he doesn't actually have that bad a record against you. So this time I'll go for Salgado. He's looked past it this year and if you put someone pacey up against him I can see him having difficulties.

3. What player do you think will cause you most problems and why?

I haven't actually seen too much of you this season (Match of the Day isn't a big priority when you're losing!). I wouldn't imagine your strikers causing our centre backs to many problems, but wingers with pace will, so I'll go for Obertan…

4. Which player do you see causing you the least and why?

Shoala Ameobi. I don't think I need to explain why. Seriously how is this guy still at your club?

5. Where do you see yourselves finishing this year?

12th/13th

6. And where can you see NUFC Finishing.

12tth/13th

7. After your great win against Arsenal last time out, has opinions changed to your manager?

Not really. Lets not fool ourselves that was a very poor Arsenal side (in the second half at least anyway), but I do believe that Kean should be given some time now that he has brought in his own players. If we hadn't lost our first 3 games most fans would have been happy for a point at Fulham in the match prior.

8. What do you think of Newcastle's current manager Alan Pardew?

Hmmm I've never really rated him to be honest. Could be argued that he is up against it with Ashley as chairman but he knew what he was getting himself in for when he took the job

9. Finally, what are your predictions and scorers?

If I looked on as an outsider I'd probably go 0-0, however that’s never the score between us so I'll go 1-1. Ryan Taylor freekick and Hoillett for us

1. Yakubu - Will probably score if not kept a close eye on.

2. Mauro Formica - Been pretty ineffective last couple of games.

3. Leon Best - Looking pretty handy at the moment.

4. Gabriel Obertan - Never rated him, less prolific than our much-loved Jason Roberts.

5. Gonna be optimistic and say about 12th.

6. Bit above us.

7. A bit, could still be sacked without sustained improvement but 4 points from 2 games since the transfer window ended is promising.

8. Good manager. Has only ever failed at Charlton and doing a good job with you.

9. Newcastle 1 (Best) - Rovers 1 (Yakubu)

1. Who do you think NUFC Should worry the most about on Saturday and why?

Hoilet, he's fast and skilfull..he'll keep you on your toes. The Yak could be a force to reckon with as well..

2. Who should we least worry about and why?

Givet...fat and unfit. If you target him we should worry. Roberts if he plays..he couldn't hit the side of a barn door..

3. What player do you think will cause you most problems and why?

Demba ba..he's your best player

4. Which player do you see causing you the least and why?

Obertan. he's just crap.

5. Where do you see yourselves finishing this year?

12th. we will be ok but won't set the league on fire.

6. And where can you see NUFC Finishing.

14th.

7. After your great win against Arsenal last time out, has opinions changed to your manager?

I was already in favour or giving him a chance.

8. What do you think of Newcastle's current manager Alan Pardew?

He's a kunt..

Rovers 2-1...Hoilet and Yakubu..Demba Ba for you

1. As an all round threat Olsson if he plays on the wing as it will mean Kean might actually be playing our strongest formation which actually covers our fullbacks.. the single biggest threat was always going to be Hoilett though as he can turn a game in an instant.

2. Difficult to say as we are still bedding players in at the moment and our starting 11 are pretty fluid.. Roberts is the obvious candidate as he can't even hit the barn never mind the barn door.

3. Has to be Arfa or Cabaye as goal threats, those two lads have the ability to unlock our defence. But as an overall threat Toite would be a concern for me as he has a chance to utterly dominate our midfield. And of course if we play the wrong formation Gutierrez could have a field day.

4. Ameobi

5. Current manager/tactica 16-17th change of manager or tactics 9-11th

6. 8th

7. No change in opinion, he isn't exactly a tactical genius and is more than likely to start the game leaving our fullbacks exposed and will try to hard to play flowing sexy football without the players to pull it off.

8. Honest manger.. after the QPR result he came out and honestly said he tactics where wrong, would be nice to have a manager like that. He also has started well despite loosing his best players and built from the back with a nice mix of exciting players and work horses.

9. If Kean sees the light and plays our best team and formation a NewC 0 Rovers 1 (Hoilett).. otherwise I reckon NewC 2 Rovers 1 (Yak, Ben Arfa and Ba)

1. Who do you think NUFC Should worry the most about on Saturday and why?

Hoilet, reasons already mentioned. Olsson, fast, could catch you on the break

2. Who should we least worry about and why?

Full backs, especially if isolated

3. What player do you think will cause you most problems and why?

Tiote, thought you boys played really well at Ewood last season and he was the best player on the pitch

4. Which player do you see causing you the least and why?

Obertan, crossing / passing poor

5. Where do you see yourselves finishing this year?

Will be happy staying up

6. And where can you see NUFC Finishing.

12th

7. After your great win against Arsenal last time out, has opinions changed to your manager?

Slightly, but still very undecided

8. What do you think of Newcastle's current manager Alan Pardew?

Doing much better than I thought he would

9. Finally, what are your predictions and scorers?

Will be happy with 0-0

Many thanks

1. Who do you think NUFC Should worry the most about on Saturday and why?

Definitely Hoilett, Olsson too if he is in midfield.

2. Who should we least worry about and why?

Roberts if he plays.

3. What player do you think will cause you most problems and why?

Tiote and Cabaye in the middle.

4. Which player do you see causing you the least and why?

Ameobi! Also Obertan, he just runs in straight lines.

5. Where do you see yourselves finishing this year?

Under the current management, 15th or below. It's a shame as this squad is capable of much more.

6. And where can you see NUFC Finishing.

About 10th.

7. After your great win against Arsenal last time out, has opinions changed to your manager?

Not really, 4 points from 2 games is encouraging but we need to go on a proper run and cement ourselves in mid table first. Then we'll be prepared to give him more time.

8. What do you think of Newcastle's current manager Alan Pardew?

Doing a good job I think.

9. Finally, what are your predictions and scorers?

We have a perfect record at SJP since 2004, although I think it'll be 1-1 this time. Best and Yakubu..

Hi all,

I am a writer for a Newcastle fansite and would love to know your thoughts on our upcoming fixture this weekend. If you have the time please feel free to answer the few questions below. Thanks in advance and thanks for your time.

1. Who do you think NUFC Should worry the most about on Saturday and why?

As others have said Junior Hoilett, I'll offer the name of Reuben Rochina. I think we've begun a new era and lads like these are [like Peter Kay's garlic bread!!] "the future."

2. Who should we least worry about and why?

If he plays [which he may not after last Saturday's demolition ;) of Arsenal], Michel Salgado.

3. What player do you think will cause you most problems and why?

Well; according to one of my friends who's a season-ticket holder in the Gallowgate End, as quoted in our preview of the game

No real threats but the Taylor/Collocini pairing should snuff out your lot!
.

4. Which player do you see causing you the least and why?

God knows; don't know most of your anonymous squad! Well; you did ask!! ;)

5. Where do you see yourselves finishing this year?

Above you!!!

6. And where can you see NUFC Finishing.

Below us!!!

7. After your great win against Arsenal last time out, has opinions changed to your manager?

Sort-of. We're reconciled to him not being sacked any time soon. Doesn't mean we have to like him though!

8. What do you think of Newcastle's current manager Alan Pardew?

2 comments about him [1 from a regular in the Gallowgate End; 1 from an exiled Magpie, whom I asked in preparing our preview of the game]:

2] And how do you rate Alan Pardew as a manager? [“Better than Joe Kinnear or Steve Kean”, is not an acceptable answer!]
a. A cockney manipulated by another cockney, but with more say in the dressing room (not like Nolan/Barton dominated Hughton).

b. He came out of nowhere and the feeling remains that he is a friend of the Hertfordshire tycoon. The farce over the so-called attempts to sign a striker and his statements during that period show to me that he is reading from an autocue.

9. Finally, what are your predictions and scorers?

Us to collect our now-traditional 3 points. 1-0 or 2-0. [scorers: Yakubu (and, if we get a second, Simon Vukcevic)]

Many thanks

Mike

3. What player do you think will cause you most problems and why?

4. Which player do you see causing you the least and why?

YOUR FRONTLINE, PRETTY MEDIOCRE, A BIT LIKE OURS

5. Where do you see yourselves finishing this year?

ANYTHING BELOW 15TH, AS I STILL THINK THE ARSENAL WIN WAS A FLASH IN THE PAN

6. And where can you see NUFC Finishing.

MIDTABLE AT BEST

7. After your great win against Arsenal last time out, has opinions changed to your manager?

Big thanks to all that took the time out to answer the questions. The answers are live here if interested http://nufcsite.co.uk/opponentsviewbrfch.html .

And, to answer the questions as a Newcastle supporter:

1. Who do you think BRFC Should worry the most about on Saturday and why?

Cabaye, he is playing better every game and should have scored 3 times v Villa away if it wasnt for the crossbar and an in form Shay Given.

2. Who should BRFC least worry about and why?

Shola Ameobi, not looking good this season at all, however he has picked up a knock so prob wont play.

3. What player do you think will cause you most problems and why?

Definitely Hoilett, I heard a rumour in the summer that we were going to bid for him and I was well excited. But we didnt. Oh, and Roberts always seems to get a goal against us so gets a special mention.

4. Which player do you see causing you the least and why?

Salgado, I think our wingers may get the better of him on the day.

5. Where do you see yourselves finishing this year?

10th - If everyone stays fit this is realistic, a striker in the Jan window and maybe 1 or 2 places up.

6. And where can you see BRFC Finishing.

16th, I think there is enough in your team to stay up and who knows you may get your marquee signing in Jan

7. After your great win against Arsenal last time out, has opinions changed to Kean?

I dont think one win at home can rectify things, but its a start. What I have seen have him he doesnt look like a manager. More of a coach.

8. On Pardew?

He has done well. He is a good man manger, even Joey Barton didnt have a swipe at him when he left.

9. Prediction?

2-0 to Newcastle. I think our Midfield will be key and overun yours a little ( Best & Cabaye )

Thanks again for your time guys and hope it is a really good game.

Cheers,

Mike

1. Who do you think NUFC Should worry the most about on Saturday and why?

Paul Robinson. On his day, and he has a few, you will find him very difficult to beat.

2. Who should we least worry about and why?

Jason Roberts. He will be on the bench.

3. What player do you think will cause you most problems and why?

As everyone has writen exactty the same thing over and over I'll try and be a little different:

1. Who do you think NUFC Should worry the most about on Saturday and why?

Probably Petrovic, he's a 3 million pound signing that nearly moved to Roma, and can open a defense with one pass, he's like a young Hoddle, can't believe he has come good so quickly.

2. Who should we least worry about and why?

Probaly Yakubu, he's washed up and has shown no signs that he will get any goals

3. What player do you think will cause you most problems and why?

Really tough, Enrique, Carroll and Barton are the only three players I'm really worried about, without these players Newcastle would be a much easier game.

4. Which player do you see causing you the least and why?

Ryan Donaldson, because I really don't think someone with that name can really ever come good, bit like how everyone called Eugene is a dork, you are only as successful as your name.

5. Where do you see yourselves finishing this year?

While it's mathamatically possible to win the league I'd have to say 1st, I'd take 2nd, most fans like myself would be disappointed with 3rd or 4th as it means you have to qualify for the Champions League and extra games really drains the players.

6. And where can you see NUFC Finishing.

Dark horses for the drop.

7. After your great win against Arsenal last time out, has opinions changed to your manager?

Yes, it's clear that everyone was wrong about him, I even regret spiking..............oops I've said too much

8. What do you think of Newcastle's current manager Alan Pardew?

He's doing ok, managing Newcastle is a lot like an orange. First, you have the skin. Then the sweet, sweet innards. Mmm...

9. Finally, what are your predictions and scorers?

I don't do score predictions, all I will say is I expect a first clean sheet from Blackburn and a few goals in the game being Holliet and Samba. But I really don't want to suggest a scoreline, will jinx it.
