anchorsaweigh
my name is Les Wilson.I currently live in Folkestone.Born and bred in Blackburn.Am 64 and have sat over the wall as a kid.Keen is a bad manager but is very good at spin.I use the word because I do not wish to use bad language.I do not hear of any Manager meeting or talking to fans as u requested. No snub there. The best way is to contact the Venkys as I have done by e-mail and voice your opinion without the use of bad language.Occasionally a club holds a forum for fans where the Manager attends.Cannot see that happening at the Rovers. The trip to India is a publicity stunt and does not I believe sit well with the majority of supporters and season ticket holdrs.Maybe I am wrong we shall see by replies.I am sorry that supporters are waisting good money and having their hopes well and truly dashed as was yours.Until Kean is removed then I am afraid you and your friends will experience many more away dissapointments.I used to when I lived in Blackburn. The only other way is not to go. tony gale's mic
To attack Roversmum and call her some sort of sort of Venky's apologist for daring to put across a view other than 'Kean is as bad as Hitler and caused the recession' just shows how petty and frankly 1 dimensional posters can be on this board. She is a valuable contributor on this site and is a relief from the more imbalanced posts on this board (and I include a few of mine in that). There's a long way between saying Kean is as bad as Hitler and constantly sticking up for Kean and Venky's, criticising the protestors etc. Sure some might say that others constantly criticise Venky's and Kean too, but given everything that has happened since the takeover surely Venky's have done far more bad than they have good? She has every right to post her opinions on this board just like anyone else, but equally she is just as open to having them challenged like anyone else too. I don't doubt she's a very committed fan and has done a lot for the Fan's Forum etc, but that's not relevant in this particular discussion. roversmum
Will you ever post something which doesn't stick up for Kean and Venky's? You'll be asking plenty of searching questions on that Pune trip no doubt. Sam is an expert. He was completely right to say he's an expert, since he's had a successful management career. Please don't ever underestimate me, tgm. I am not afraid to tell it as it is when necessary. Like it or not, Venky's are our owners. I'm sure you are eager to recount once again what has happened since they took over the club but I have heard it before, thank you, indeed I have noted and am fully aware of it. Re the Sam comment, that was tongue in cheek, but I don't expect you to understand that sort of thing. If I remember correctly, there was a fair amount of criticism for that particular comment at the time. That suggests that the OP is lying or mistaken when stating he spoke to Newcastle fans. Indeed it does not, Jisty. What is the matter with everyone on this board and 'lying'? Do you really think the Manager (for that is who he is at the moment) is going to trot off into a corner to possibly discuss his failings in a public place - anyone would be feeling pretty sick about what happened yesterday afternoon let alone the one person who holds responsibility for it - and there's no way he would take that chance. He knows well how many Rovers fans feel about him and he is naturally rightly going to be nervous about what might be said and/or done. I am sorry for moz whom it seems was being incredibly polite but I would suggest, moz, that you write to Kean, tell him that you were the fan who wanted to talk to him etc. expressing your disappointment. mozsupportsrovers
Just to add Me and my friend were not expecting Steve to bare all to us, but just any sort of acknowledgement towards us would have been more than enough. We made it very clear we didn't want to have a go, but just a chance to ask one or two questions that would have put our minds at rest for the time being. If he had just said, "thankyou lads for coming and supporting the team but I don't really want to speak about things" then that would have been fair enough, but to just keep blanking us and saying "oh well" whilst at the same time signing autographs and answering all the Newcastle fans questions was disrespectful Even a number of the Newcastle fans commented on how disrespectful it was. Also the fact John Jensen then got off the coach and specifically speak to us, for me showed how embarrassed he was for keans actions At least he gave us 2 mins and responded the best he could

RoyRover
Doesn't surprise me at all to be honest. He can tell Sky Sports all he wants the majority of the fans are behind him, but he knows that most of us think he hasn't a clue. If I were you I would have given him some of my mind after he didn't have the manners to answer your questions.
FourLaneBlue
He could tell the fans to go forth and multiply for all I care as long as he knew how to win games. Unfortunately, he doesn't though...
LeChuck
but to just keep blanking us and saying "oh well" whilst at the same time signing autographs and answering all the Newcastle fans questions was disrespectful It's a shame you didn't film any of this on a mobile or something, it could have been quite powerful. Maybe Venky's have never seen that side of him, they just get Salesman Steve.

roverzee
I think this story is not so surprising, the fact that it is on the internet 3 hours after the end of the game says why. He and any manager of Premier League level knows how quick they can be quoted and the online story can't be stopped. Best to say nothing if what you do say (you think in private) is on the www 3 hours later.

Stuart
I'm not sure you could realistically expect him to trot off into a corner to discuss his failings, doubtless he is well aware of them, and the squad were on the coach waiting for him. That suggests that the OP is lying or mistaken when stating he spoke to Newcastle fans. Indeed it does not, Jisty. Just to add Me and my friend were not expecting Steve to bare all to us, but just any sort of acknowledgement towards us would have been more than enough. Moz's post suggests he did have time but chose to spend it talking to Newcastle fans. There are many reasons for his failings as a football manager but his attitude to his own fans is disgusting. I have had several discussions with you 'mum and even spoken to you in person and I respect your views and also I have every reason to have more respect for your opinion on this over another poster. But I cannot fathom for one minute your unwavering support for Kean. I can only assume you have spent time in his company and he has convinced you to support him? Guest Rovers4Good
Kean is a very smug and arrogant person indeed and unless confronted will never give you the time of day. He is very much under pressure and it's a complete shame that he is managing our club. From the beginning we were saying he's not the right man for the job and my mind has been further cemented with his actions since. He is a yes man and has more excuses in his locker than Ferguson and Wenger put together. His comments about judging him on his new squad is going to come back and hit this idiot right in the mush.
