Rover Down Under Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 It's taken 40 minutes for the commentator to get Givet's name right, totally pathetic. Other than that not bad from us, have held them back pretty well and given them a scare or two. Keep it up in the 2nd half lads.

Lathund Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 Now for the dreaded first few minutes of the second half...
Miker Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 In all honesty, tactically we are spot on right now and players are executing the game plan to the letter. However, all it will take is Man City to up the pace in their attacks and get some shots on target and we're done for. They have been very casual about the affair. I've watched them every game this season and they are playing with a tenth of the intensity they've displayed in most of their games.
chris Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 can't really complain, what more can you ask for, many times 10 men behind the ball, wings strong and counter attacks ok too.
Lurid Coat Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 It looks like we have an actual gameplan today, and we seem to work as a unit. Not at all confident in getting away with a point from this encounter, but this is much better than feared - so far. Cue the inevitable second half collapse...
Backroom DE. Posted October 1, 2011 Backroom Posted October 1, 2011 A decent half, we did exactly what we needed to do - stay compact, defend in numbers and attempt a couple of counter-attacks. It's nice to see Kean seems to have learned, at least, that we can't go gung-ho against every team. As others have said though, all it takes is for City to step it up a gear and they will score. They're showing fatigue from the midweek match and possibly a bit of lack of motivation from the disruption that followed. We could nick this one, however, first we have to get past the dreaded 47th minute...
philipl Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 First half stats: Posession 34- 66 Shots on 1- 4 Shots off 0- 5 Even stevens so far then.

This is pure Big Sam style keep it tight and if we can catch them on the break then great. It'll be right back to normal next time. Once again Kean is trying to save his skin. This won't last..
darwenblueswearehere Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 First half stats: Posession 34- 66 Shots on 1- 4 Shots off 0- 5 Even stevens so far then. To be fair the only stat that matters is 0-0.

Yeah, was going to add something like that to the end of my post but in Kean-style I kept it positive.
RibbleValleyRover Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 It was coming. Cracking goal 1-0 City.
Backroom DE. Posted October 1, 2011 Backroom Posted October 1, 2011 City have stepped it up a gear, and as predicted, they score.
BPF Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 We could never keep this up for 90 minutes. Hopefully our fickle fans will now finally start to chant for Kean's head.
G Somerset Rover Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 If it stays as it is this is exactly what we didn't want today; a narrow loss keeping the imposter in charge.
Miker Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 We could never keep this up for 90 minutes. Hopefully our fickle fans will now finally start to chant for Kean's head. The score will have to get bigger for that to happen. 0-1 is still respectable and we've performed admirably so far. I can see it happening once it gets to 0-3 though.
eire3382 Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 Whats the atmosphere at Ewood like? Everyone must be gettign fed up.
Backroom DE. Posted October 1, 2011 Backroom Posted October 1, 2011 We need at least another 3 or 4 to go in for the pressure to pile on Kean properly and the crowd to turn on him. City can do it if they keep this tempo up.
Andy Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 0-2. I'm not there today, more important things to attend to, but hopefully the crowd will be letting Kean know that it's far from 1% of us who want him gone. In fact, it's closer to 1% who want to keep him.
RibbleValleyRover Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 If it stays as it is this is exactly what we didn't want today; a narrow loss keeping the imposter in charge. 2-0 now City capable of scoring a few more yet.
BPF Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 I can't believe I'm saying this... but... Come on city, batter us.
