trs Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 What a shame you got so bored of us winning so many games at Ewood. You don't deserve to support Rovers. After 40 plus years of "supporting" Rovers home and away incuding 80 plus away grounds (many of them numerous times) being on ewood for Rovers ever lowest ever attendance, travelling to Europe blah blah blah, I think it should be Rovers at the moment who dont DESERVE to have the likes of me.

Like I said, if you get bored by your team winning games, then I don't see the point of being there. Venky's might not deserve the fans being there, but Rovers do. The club is bigger than the owners.

Try coming over for games then TGM, Leeds is no distance Until you do, stop telling long standing regulars that they don't deserve to support the club
Mattyblue Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 Wow another Sam debate...riveting stuff! Everything that has gone on over the last 12 months should be discussed.
tony gale's mic Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 Try coming over for games then TGM, Leeds is no distance Until you do, stop telling long standing regulars that they don't deserve to support the club I don't know where you get off on this fictional notion of me not going to games. When I was in Leeds I had a season ticket for the first four years I was there (up to 2007), however after that with clinicals taking over quite a few weekends I usually could only come over on average about once a month, I've been going to a few this season as I'm in Blackburn for a few months (but doing agency work all over the country), but I'm moving to Sydney in January so going to games won't really be possible till I come back. Like I said, it's about circumstances. You still went every week but you still didn't manage to have a clue about what was going on. If someone gets bored by their team winning games, they don't deserve to go. I stand by that one hundred per cent.
Pugg Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 Everything that has gone on over the last 12 months should be discussed. Yes it should, but it is so tedious reading, for the millionth time, that... Some people thought Sam should be sacked, but not replaced with kean. Some thought Sam shouldn't be sacked, as he did the job and did well...and repeat.

Yet, everybody is still banging on about it.

tony gale's mic Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 It's funny how everyone in the "I wanted Sam sacked but never replaced with Kean" camp never actually offer any thoughts as to who they would have replaced him with.

tony gale's mic Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 FFS Gav, don't tell me this fella doesn't even attend games...please! No, that was another thing that Gav made up. He likes doing that. Though if I lived in Outer Mongolia and had no way of getting to Ewood, I would have said the same thing. I got it from you TGM Making things up is pretty pathetic, but I wouldn't expect any less from you. I see you've taken down the Steve Kean avatar you had over summer btw.
Pugg Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 We all think Steve Kean should be sacked. Yet, everybody is still banging on about it. Because that's happening now. No matter how much we want to go back in time and still have Sam and John or even the flipping trust, we can't. We all know the arguments for either side re Sam now. All it ends up doing is falling into the same old discussion which turns into a slanting match.
Backroom Tom Posted October 2, 2011 Backroom Posted October 2, 2011 It's funny how everyone in the "I wanted Sam sacked but never replaced with Kean" camp never actually offer any thoughts as to who they would have replaced him with. If I recall right Jol was the popular choice
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 The spiral downwards started when Kean was appointed. Wrong , the spiral downwards started when Venkies bought the club.
Backroom Tom Posted October 2, 2011 Backroom Posted October 2, 2011 Wrong , the spiral downwards started when Venkies bought the club. I'd say earlier, Sam halted it for a while though
tony gale's mic Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 If I recall right Jol was the popular choice He did well at Spurs but spent an absolute bucketload. Had a good first season with Ajax but not a very good second season, and while Fulham are doing well today he's still not had the best start to the season. No guarantee that he'd have wanted the job (London clubs always have more pulling power for managers) or that he'd have done as well on a budget.
trs Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 If I recall right Jol was the popular choice And mine at the time, rightly or wrongly but that was my opinion.
Gav Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 No, that was another thing that Gav made up. He likes doing that. Though if I lived in Outer Mongolia and had no way of getting to Ewood, I would have said the same thing. I don’t look back over threads to show fellow posters are telling porkies, but for you I might make an exception if you continue to say I’m making things up
tony gale's mic Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 I'd say earlier, Sam halted it for a while though Nah, had we kept JW at the club we could have at least been a mid table PL side for quite a while IMO. We'd had four top 10 finishes in 5 seasons, the only exception being the Ince season. With a club like ours that's pretty much the limit of our ambitions without massive outside investment. I don’t look back over threads to show fellow posters are telling porkies, but for you I might make an exception if you continue to say I’m making things up Oh, by all means make an exception. There's no way I would have actually said that since I do go to games, I just don't have a season ticket. You're making things up, whether it's intentionally or not I'm not sure. I hope for your sake its unintentional as if its intentional it would make you a very sad man.
Mattyblue Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 If I recall right Jol was the popular choice Jol was a popular choice with fans, however there was no sign from Venky's that they had a shortlist at all- confimed when Kean got the job.
Stuart Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 Jol was a popular choice with fans, however there was no sign from Venky's that they had a shortlist at all- confimed when Kean got the job. There's no sign that they've thought of a shortlist even now.
tony gale's mic Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 And mine at the time, rightly or wrongly but that was my opinion. To justify sacking a manager you need several plausible candidates who would almost certainly do a better job, not just one who may have got similar results with more aesthetically pleasing football. So it's still an illogical opinion.
T.J.Newton Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 It's funny how everyone in the "I wanted Sam sacked but never replaced with Kean" camp never actually offer any thoughts as to who they would have replaced him with. There are no ###### 'camps', just fans with different opinions.
tony gale's mic Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 THERE ARE NO ###### CAMPS JUST FANS WITH DIFFERANT OPINIONS. Caps lock off and spellcheck. Thanks.
