bob fleming Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 Thanks Kamy for the update. Do you know who Kean wants to bring in as number 2? The name I heard was Aldridge Prior. 1 Quote
Stylish kid in the Riot Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 I must admit that it has come as a bit of shock Jensen leaving and its all very cloak and dagger at the moment but has anyone actually considered that he has gone because he is a shi^e assistant manager. He came from nowhere and say what you want about Kean, but he wasnt his choice and the manager is entitled to work with whoever he trusts and feels comfortable with. Jensen never really inspired any confidence in me and I remember when he was appointed Paul Merson (not the most relaible opinion I know) saying that he didnt even realise Jensen had gone into coaching. As usual with Rovers at the momnent things on the PR side are dreadful but I feel jumping to conclusions and instantly blaming Kean for this is a little naive. My personal opinion is a spanking against City and he will be gone. Quote
bob fleming Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 is this a clue??? Alan Irvine or Walter Smith??? Alan Irvine would be a good choice in my view. I doubt either are daft enough but I'll plump for Walter as he was mentioned on here the other day by that Preston chap. Irvine is just back at Everton with the Youth. Quote
roverandout Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 not interested in another number 2 being brought in, couldnt care less if it was pep guardiola or johann cruyff, i want the number 1 out. 5 Quote

Walter smith is a good shout, hope it's in the mirror link master chaddy How's about beckham ? Player/assistant, certainly ambitious and would fit in the marquee category 1 Quote
Bluefudge Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 (edited) Walter Smith..... Oh yes there is a long line of ex Celtic and Ex Rangers working so well together. Is this the same free flowing football guru Smith of hoofball fame ? Edited September 29, 2011 by Bluefudge Quote
Mercer Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 You always seek to appoint someone better than yourself !!! Once appointed a 'high flyer' and asked why I should give him the job - he said he'd put me on the golf course for 12 months whilst he sorted things out. Sounded good, gave him the job, feckin brilliant - now a FTSE 100 CEO. 1 Quote
LeChuck Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 Irvine? Smith? Venables? Deary me. Someone with a recent, proven track record in the Premier League please. Quote
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 Perhaps another Scottish Number 2, With both Managerial experience and assistant experience, but more importantly Prem experience. Archie Knox Bowen.........with Hughes as no.1 3 Quote
glen9mullan Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 Archie Knox I don't know for sure, and won't claim to, but Gary McCallistairs name did crop up in a conversation I has over the summer, and it would not surprise me if he was very high up on the list due to his Managerial experience too Quote
percy Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 (edited) Perhaps another Scottish Number 2, With both Managerial experience and assistant experience, but more importantly Prem experience. Archie Knox? Edit - beaten to it by WWWM Am hoping this is the start of the removal of Steve, but... .....suspect it's just another way for SK to buy some more time / generate some more excuses. We've become a football laughing stock and everyone but the owners can see the joke's on us. How bloody farcical does this whole situation have to get before Venky's realise what they've done? I hope it's not him as I think he his a bit of a mercenary which is something we don't need at the moment to be .honest Quote
roverandout Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 great, 2 bald failiures, im NOT interested in another number 2, i want the number 1 gone, the main reasons for our troubles is still here, all the number 2's in the world wont fix that. Quote

Hughesy Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 So Kamy now doesnt think he is as bullet proof as he originally thought, im convinced this is just the start. Come on Venkys - LISTEN TO THE FANS - Kean has to go, we need a top quality manager, not Kean! Quote

Billy Castell Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 The only way I'll believe Kean is gone is if I see his bullet riddled body paraded around by a group of Colombian special forces soldiers. The idiotic Indians would rather sack the entire staff before they get rid of him. 4 Quote

They probably are, its most likely Venky's are worried about getting it wrong with a successor that is causing the delay. Quote
Ricky Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 Be happy with o'neil as it could push kean nearer the exit door 1 Quote
Mercer Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 O'Neill or McKinlay ? from Nicko Not a chance of O'Neil coming as a No2. McKinlay's hot - heard this from someone not on Nicko's Christmas card list, therefore, two confirmations. Quote
cn174 Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 I don't understand why Martin O'Neill would come to be assistant to Kean, or am I missing something? 1 Quote

Cheeky Sidders Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 The name I heard was Aldridge Prior. Aldridge Prior is a good shout. Great coach and worked at a lot of big European clubs. Quote
