Just an idea for Glen and the organisers but just wondered if anyone had maybe thought about putting out 'flyers' around the town, in the pubs, etc, to publicise 'round 3' of the protests, once the plans have been finalised?

I've been a Rovers fan since the 70s but am only relatively new to this forum and probably wouldn't have known anything about the march, etc, if I hadn't recently joined the forum. The majority of Rovers fans aren't forum members so maybe there is a lack of knowledge out there about whats happening as not eveyone has PCs.

Apologies if I'm stating the obvious and/or appropriate measures are in hand but it just seems to me that after the city game, the majority of Rovers fans do now strongly sympathise with the cause so it would be fantastic to really swell the ranks. I'm sick and tired of Kean's lies that majority of fans still support him - if we can muster much bigger numbers, it will visually prove to Venkys that he is talking cr@p and we are not just a disgruntled minority.

Flyers being distrubuted, I like this idea, How we fund it is the problem? Unless a kind forum member runs a printing place and would donate them? We need to go overboard to ensure all fans are aware, I totally agree

I think you are doing a great job Glen but I have to agree with others about planning another protest before the Spurs game. It is obvious that Kean is not going to get sacked before the QPR game so is it not best to wait until at least after the QPR result ?

If protests are going to take place before games, before we even know the result then I think it could turn out to be more of a negative against the fans.

If (and I know it is a huge if) we get a result against QPR then I don't think many people will want to march and the press will start to question what the fans motives are. We will look like we are protesting for the sake of it.

Every time we lose now fans are going to vent there feelings whether it is organised or not so i'm not sure what another organised protest before a game will achieve ?

When organising something you have to liase with local authorites and there are deadlines in place which prevent things going ahead if you fail to meet the criteria. Any sort of protest can always be cancelled, but need lots of planning. A week is not enough time to organise everything because believe it or not, its not just turning up on the day. Its taken me 5 days to get this for so far and venue's are still not finalised, hope this helps

I used this company : www.1-2-print.co.uk recently for some work : £46 for 5,000 double sided A6 flyers - good quality too. If a few people chip in then this isnt too bad? It may cost a bit more to guarantee they arrive in time though.

I plan to attend all that happens on the day and will do a few spare 'Kean Out' banners that can be distributed.

Hats off once more Glen, you really do go above and beyond :rover: Although I'm too far away to help in the build up I will be there from the kick off on Sunday. I'd hope some kind individual would post a simple A4 flyer in every pub and community type centre around the town/s in the local area.

Once again keep up the good fight :)

EDIT: just had a light bulb moment. Could you please upload "an official" protest flyer Glen that people could affix to the back window of their cars perhaps to easily spread the word to an even wider audience. I've seen this done over here to promote quite a few protests recently.

Just a random thought how about starting the march at the LET office in town to let them know what we think of their lack of support for us the fans in this farce. Every section of the media seems to be siding on the idea that Kean should stay but I'd expect the LET to at least try put our point across.

Fair enough Glen, I didn't take into consideration how much organising it would take.

If we do lose to QPR I'm hoping that Venkys will make the decision but if they don't then we do need to take more action.

Top idea and maybe this would be the way to go as regards a 'red card' protest in the ground, etc.

Hi Glen,

The aim here is to get rid of Captain Delusion.

Keep up the good work.

Re PS - no dogs.

Leeloo the dog in question is happy to sit this one out.

She notes she did get exposure on MOTD,Sky Sports News + Sunday papers.

Protestor of the week in The Observer.

Texts from as far away as Thailand re the coverage.

We feel the 95 mile round trip was worth it for the cause.

DKO.

Bringing Venkys into this isn't a good idea. A protest can't have 2 aims and still be as effective. If half the chants/banners are aimed at getting rid of Venkys then it just takes the pressure off Kean. Venkys aren't going anywhere because of a fact that people keep ignoring/forgetting, for Venkys to sell we need someone willing to buy, and there is noone. Rather than waste time on them the effort should be concentrated on something achievable, which getting rid of Kean certainly is.

I'd recommend a flat cap and whippet this time to keep in line with the BBC stereotyping :)

But it's arguable that by turning the heat up on the owners they may ditch Kean. This has certainly happened at clubs in the past.

We need anti kean fans in the Riverside (prob 99% of riverside then) to hold up one word banners but when read together say our message. I mean a 1/3rd of the way down the word "STEVE" then in the middle "KEAN" and in the final 1/3rd "OUT" that way the lettering can be painted bigger on sheets and it will also be seen every single time Kean casts his eyes on the pitch and it will also look good on TV.

Whats everyones thoughts to that?

How about a sustained chant of Big Fat Sams Blue and White Army?

It Mocks Kean

It Mocks Venkys

It re-inforces the point that Kean needs to go

Sacking Hippo Head may have been the wrong decision at the time but I don't think it's the best chant we could use. Besides, opinion was divided on the last manager anyway. The chants of "Only one Jack Walker" are in my mind good enough to re-enforce the point that things need to change, perhaps something along these lines could be furthered. Bringing a former manager back in to the mix would not be the right way to go.

Don't go. Simple as.

All this flag-waving and posturing isn't working, so hit the owners in their pockets and see how they feel when fans are turning their back on the club in droves.

Got to say, after 2 protests haven't had the desired effect, nor have banners, especially given what Balaji Rao has been quoted as saying today!!

This may be the only option...
