MarkBRFC71 Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 True, just got it delivered. Headline: "LET'S GET REAL - Rovers star Dunn tells fans: Booing manager doesn't help"
brian_gallagher85 Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Right, new banner for Spurs game: LET'S GET REAL DUNNY, HE'S ######!
yoda's brother Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 havnt seen the article yet, but if dunny is backing kean then i have lost my respect for him (dunny)
bob fleming Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Read it briefly this morning. It's there in black and white. Wilcox says Kean needs to be given until the new year. Gally backed the manager last week. I don't believe any of it for a minute, who is actually writing this garbage? And yet they put their names to it - why? Contractual obligation? If you recall yesterday someone mentioned that they spoke to "a fans favourite, who had been at the club for years" and that player, whoever it may be, was less than complimentary towards the manager. Strange days indeed.
ABBEY Posted October 4, 2011 Author Posted October 4, 2011 He's been eating pies infected with mad cow disease!

Guest Rovers4Good Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Unbelievable David Dunn saying let's get real? Saying the fans need to stop booing and saying the treatment of Keith Andrews was embarrassing? He said he looked at City's bench and there was a player worth more than what Venky's paid for our club. DUNNY YOU NEED TO GET REAL!!!!!!!!!!!! From a man who for the past couple of years as robbed football of $$$$$$$$$$$ played only a handfull of times and constantly sits on the treatment table knowing full well he's well past his sell by date. If it would have come from a player that actually had was playing to the best of his ability and someone who was giving his all for the club then yes we might take notice but from you then you've seriously gone down in some of our estimations. Yes booing doesn't help the team but i think you'll find that if you're 4-0 down at home then what the f**k do you want us to do cheer and clap? The treatment of Keith Andrews yes maybe it went over the top. Dunny some of us know the real reason your sticking up for Kean and Venky's Stick to what you do best and get yourself back to the pub and get a kebab on your way home because that's your life son
Guest Rovers4Good Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Its probably got more to do with money rather than contractual obligations. Give us a quote and we'll pay you xxx amount. Or like the rumours Venky's are buying his plush house.
Mattyblue Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Players and pundits will NEVER advocate sacking a manager at a club like ours, never. I'm not paying a blind bit of notice to them, because when he eventually does go and this club somehow stabilises, the very same people will be saying 'well this change certainly came at the right time, didn't really work out for Steve' rent a quote fools the lot of 'em
broadsword Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 You should know better, Dunn. It's all bent, it's got to be. Few brown paper bags to take the heat off the fat scottish knacker. Let's get real - booing doesn't make any difference. No booing = loss; booing = loss.
adsfortheblues Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 32 games 9 wins, 3 of which where against lower league opposition (2 against league 1 sides) GET REAL FAT BOY that's relegation form at it's best
RibbleValleyRover Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Is anyone surprised Dunny is coming out with comments like this? Kean is the one who is helping him get his coaching badges and from all reports the two are close. That being said the comments from Dunny, Wilcox, Shearer, Gally et al are insane. Rovers give Kean more time = Rovers get relegated.
CAPT KAYOS Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 That being said the comments from Dunny, Wilcox, Shearer, Gally et al are insane. Rovers give Kean more time = Rovers get relegated. Wilcox especially as he was on the radio the other week commentating and saying along the lines of how 'poor' we where and what the obvious problems were and why couldn't the manager see what everybody else could see. So either there is a misquote/representation/misunderstanding or there really is something we are not akin to behind the scenes.
JAL Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Sell the sicknote come the january transfer window, the useless ######.
Hughesy Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Another line he said later on…. "Let people outside our club be negative but we cant afford ouw own fans to be negative. We all have the be on the same page and going in the right direction. On that subject, Keith Andrews is a top pro, works hard a good lad around the place and sometimes these are the people you need around the club at these times. He was hounded out the club, which was embarrassing". Seriously Dunn - keep your mouth shut.....'going in the right direction'???? The fans are embarrassing??? Idiot! Funny how all those who are passed it/ coming towards ends of their contracts are the only ones backing Kean....none of the younger, quality players.
broadsword Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 6 wins from 27 games ... that's going in the right direction? Dunn's embarrassing more like.
Steve Kean's Hypnotoad Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 He's right on Andrews. That was very embarassing for anyone who believes players trying their best should be supported by their own supporters. Ok he's wrong on Kean but does it matter? No fans are going to listen to him, I seriously doubt he's anywhere near the top of people who Venkys listen to. Let him say what he wants, won't make a blind bit of difference.
hawkiiz Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Keith Andrews was a liablility on the pitch. End of. I agree the negativity has to be fair, but the record is bad, and we are next to bottom in the league. The players can turn it around, but the only way of doing it is winning football matches. Not by telling the fans what to do or say. Fans may disagree on what we should do to help the club move forward, but it is never up to Dunn to tell us what to think or do.
Guest Rovers4Good Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Funny how all those who are passed it/ coming towards ends of their contracts are the only ones backing Kean....none of the younger, quality players. Spot on Dunn knows he's not good enough anymore and knows he's not got many years left playing so he's out to get what he can, very selfish man indeed, never has time for the fans and always parks behind the Darwen End to get away from the fans (disgrace). Bet Kean offers him a new contract before the end of the year though, they're all in it together.
brian_gallagher85 Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 He's using the Andrews situation to back up his outburst towards the fans. He's 100% correct on that point in that it was embarrassing and I was and still am totally behind Keith as he tried his best and always gave his all, Dunn could take a leaf out of Keiths book. What isn't embarrasing is giving a rats ass about, what is for many, their local club and the fact that it's on one of it's worst ever runs under the guidance of a complete clown who has shown he is far from capable of doing the job he is being employed to do. Perhaps you should have a look at your own fitness and the fitness of the manager (on and off the field) to do the job you're paid for before having a go at those who pay your wages, eh Dunny! NOBODY IS BIGGER THAN BLACKBURN ROVERS - NOT KEITH ANDREWS, NOT DAVID DUNN, NOT VENKYS AND NOT STEVE KEAN. THIS IS OUR CLUB AND IT'S ABOUT TIME WE TOOK IT BACK!!! COYB!!!!
