I've had enough now. Everyone wants to hear the views of others as long as they are singing from the same hymn sheet. I don't agree that the owners deserve all the negative stuff that has been written about them. I'm accused of thinking myself superior because I believe they are good people and ultimately want the best for Rovers - this after having met them and speaking to them. I still believe that.

For what it's worth, I love this club and my fellow fans, and respect their views. I would like the same respect.

I won't be around for a while. The bile, hatred, bullying and some of the stuff that is being said is making me feel ill.

COYB :brfc:

Sorry you feel that way roversmum.. there is allot of passion involved with football and it is this passion for the club is what has brought out such negativity to the extreme.

I wonder if you could look at it from an alternate perspective.. Take the viewpoint of the average fan at Rovers, not many of us have met nor talked to anyone at Venkys so all we have to go on is their actions at the football club in England where it really matters.

So ignoring peoples personal opinions of Roa and co and ignoring any comments from the ITK people in regards to wrongdoings at the club all Rovers supporters have to go on are the following points:

  • When taking over a business it is general practice not to get rid of the best employees/board members (especially if it is a business area in which you have limited or no knowledge), this practice is generally done when someone takes over a business that has been failing (something that certainly can not be said about Rovers). As the old adage goes if it ain't broke don't try to fix it.
  • Initial customer relations are essential to the survival of any business especially in the entertainment industry, take your local pub or take away (one that you have been visiting for years).. if a new landlord/owner came in and changed the atmosphere, quality of goods or was just plain daft would you continue going back there and would you be upset at the changes?
  • When running any business it is very prudent to monitor performance, if a new manager comes in and you start to loose long standing contracts there is obviously something wrong, failure to take action invariably leads to the business failing.
  • If you use advisors who turn out to be dodgy or rip you off (this is directly from Venkys and JA himself) then it is generally a good idea to take a step back and review the plan that they came up with, they may of had their own agendas. Sticking with the unrealistic plan to only invest in youth and the manager they advised you to hire is probably not a good idea.
  • When running any business (especially one in which you have limited knowledge) it is very useful/essential to hire experienced people, hiring someone with no experience tends to be the road to failure, if you do go down the route of hiring someone without experience a short trial period which is performance related is required no matter what business type you are talking about. Lets take a fairly standard business.. promoting a lead salesman to manager, you have to monitor how they do as the lead salesman will not have the experience and knowledge of management, no matter how hard working or how much of a nice guy he is.
  • Running a business hands on (as Mrs D etc have themselves stated they do get involved) from a foreign country and not visiting it to see how it is doing is not exactly good practice and in the football industry really annoys fans. If the stats are right even the Glaziers went to more games and they are not at all hands on.
  • When taking over a business in a field that you have limited knowledge it is generally advisable to take kiddie steps and not make sweeping changes, especially if the business is relatively (arguably in our case punching above our weight) successful in its field.
  • Last but not least they made a selection of assurances and promises when they took over and turned their backs on these within a mere few months of taking over (see official documentation previously posted that is available on the official site). As such I am sure you can understand that people would be upset.

Overall not many of us really care how well they are doing out in sunny India, nor do we care what their vision for us is out there, nor are we that bothered if they are nice people, what we all care about is what is happening here on the field, what their vision for Rovers is here in the uk and how well our little Rovers are being run off the field. So at the moment we are failing on the pitch (which no one can deny), we have no clear vision or mission statement of what they want to do with us here in the uk (except for them sticking to the plan that the agents came up with) and off the field we have lost every experienced person we had (and practically all of the people who have been lifelong Rovers), they have admited bank issues, they admit to being ripped off by agents, we are loosing fans and the overall general opinion of Venkys is exceptionally poor.

As fans and most of us lifelong fans we find it quite upsetting seeing our club nose dive like it has, what we want to see is action to make things right what we are not bothered with is what is happening on a completely different continent.

My wife has proven she loves me yet again, and given me a way to demonstrate my affection for the Rovers.

For my birthday every year for the last few years (since I've started following the Rovers), I get a home shirt. I hesitated to do so this year, mostly as I did not want to buy from the club and add to the numbers that the Roas think support them as owners, though I do approve of the new sponsor.

My wife knew of my dilemma and, being a genius, went on ebay and bought me the 95-96 away shirt used. Ergo, a brand new (to me) Rovers shirt for my birthday and I've contributed to the cause without feeding the Raos' accounts. And the shirt is sharp. Why don't they use that away design anymore?

But I'll still get a new home shirt the second the Raos sack Kean and replace him with an experienced, competent manager. :rover:

Similarly I too am refusing to spend any money on anything else apart from my season ticket and a couple of lottery tickets (because the seller is such a nice old man and he gets some commission). Over the course of a season I would probably spend more than the value of my season ticket on merchandise etc. With Christmas coming soon if we all stopped buying then it would hit them hard. As soon as the imposter goes I will be spending freely again.

Sorry have I missed something? Everyone seems so obsessed with converting Roversmum, I can only assume there's money involved? Has everyone chipped in a tenner and the 1st person to convert Roversmum gets the pot?

Me too. When the owners start taking it seriously, I will resume spending.

I would normally go to every cup game, buy lottery tickets and food in the concourse, Blues Bar before and sometimes after the game, matchday magazine and hundreds of pounds worth of merchandise from the club shop (all for me and my family).

If by next season the owners still don't show they are running the club in a responsible manner I won't be renewing my Season Ticket.

In the short term, Steve Kean must go and a manager (one where we can all see the reasons for employing him) must be installed.

Venky's chicken by business, chicken by nature. They have had thier chance.

Today despite thier loyality being questioned by the mecernary players, the cluess owners and the deluded manager the supporters got behind the team and were magnificant. I was proud to be a Rovers Supporter today.

It shows how low the club has sunk, that they resorted to such 'dirty' tactics with the music. For the first time in my life, today, I was ashamed of Blackburn Rovers Football Club.

I want my Rovers back but I fear its already too late.

I think the music trick is absolutely disgraceful and shows the utter contempt the people at Ewood feel towards the fans.

The protest was loud and clear at the top of Livesey Branch Rd chaps, so the music trick didn't work IMO.

I am divorcing myself from anything Rovers until the man is gone.

As chris said, no you won't. We'll take the abuse and keep coming back, hoping that this time they'll have learned the lesson, that they mean what they've said, that they've changed and really, truly, respect us and value our opinions.

I rage at Venkys, and despise Kean, but I was glued to my computer this morning watching the match, as I will be next match. They're either morons, villians or overly prideful (and perhaps all three), but it doesn't change the fact that they have us hooked. The only question is how hard we struggle as they wreck the club. Do we roll over, knowing we have no (or limited) power, or do we go out like Texans at the Alamo, backs against the wall, blazing away. I know which I prefer.

I think the music trick is absolutely disgraceful and shows the utter contempt the people at Ewood feel towards the fans.

I don't think it is contempt, I think it is fear. They know they've created a mess and are fearful of attention. So making the protests go away is their number one priority, before it gains wide spread attention.

Which begs the question of why Steve Kean still has a job. Sack him and appoint a competent, experienced manager and the protests would immediately stop and we can get back to what we all want to do, support the team without distractions.
