Billy Castell Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 5 years on? Probably playing Swindon in League 1, having just sold Myles Anderson for £10,000. Administration will just be avoided, whilst the new owners who have taken over from Venky's scraped enough money to pay the bills.

HemelRover Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 Shouldn't you be busy posing for pictures with Venky's? No denial I see?
roverandout Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 i predict 5 years from now, we will be playing in league 2 and the loony family will be praising kean as a 'very, very, very brilliant manager' and that our target of reaching the conference is 'very very very positive'.
Batman. Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 No denial I see? Are you talking to me, or SteB?
Jock Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 Someone else has mentioned Wolves in the 80's.We'll make them look like a decent football club. I urge everyone to stand up for THEIR Rovers and stand in the ailes at the match, this will cause chaos during the match.
TAFKAP Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 5 years time from this point? Worst case scenario (and one I could see happening in the current direction we are heading in): Year 1- Rovers stick with Kean for the rest of the season and as a result Rovers get relegated. Kean says we are unlucky and vows to get Rovers back into the Premier League. Year 2- Rovers start their first season back in the Championship with Kean as manager. Venky's vow to stick by the club and say they will give the manager the finances to get back into the Premier League. A lot of talented players leave the club as they feel the Championship is beneath them (players like Robbo, Dann and several others). But some of the wasters on the wage bill who are on big money stay as there aren't teams willing to match their current wages (Pedersen, Dunny and Roberts- who gets a new contract for example). Rovers struggle in a highly competitive league and fail to get promotion either through the playoff spots or automatic qualification. Kean is finally sacked. Year 3- Rovers begin their second season in the Championship. New manager comes in and finds the job difficult as Rovers have to sell off more of their highly rated prospects from the academy setup. With Rovers once again struggling Venky's begin to lose interest in the club and decide to sell to anyone who is interested. With Rovers being in the Championship it's difficult to find a decent buyer and Rovers end up with a Pompey scenario- an owner without the finances to run a football club. Rovers get relegated down to League One and the manager is sacked. Year 4- Rovers begin their League One campaign with well publicised financial problems and are threatened with administration if they don't find a buyer quickly. Rovers struggle in League one on the pitch and the financial pressures continue to mount. Rovers enter into adminstration as they fail to get promoted back into the Chamipionship. An administrator comes in and tries to find a buyer for the club but with huge debts and no interest from buyers the club is folded. Year 5- RIP Blackburn Rovers F.C. 1875-2016 That's one great porn script RVR, it'd fly off the shelves in Burnley. However, I very much doubt you'll get relegated from the Prem with the quality Rovers have. Granted I can see Kean has to go if you don't get maximum at QPR. My prediction is you'll win your next 3 Prem games, QPR, Spurs and Norwich.
sijoco Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 My prediction is you'll win your next 3 Prem games, QPR, Spurs and Norwich. All those 3 points at the nobenders are going to your head TAKKAP, we ain't getting more than the odd decent result from those games. And a decent result would be not conceding.
thebigguy Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 Blue square league here we come. Bring on the darwen
m1st Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 I don't see the future quite as doom-laden as others on here. Given the owners' infatuation with the current manager, even this glass-half-full man fears relegation this season because, no matter how good the players are individually, they aren't a team. Once we're relegated and the better quality players move on to teams in the Premier League, we'll be left with players who don't really cut the mustard at Premier League level. Then, better late than never and not before time, the scales will, hopefully, drop from the owners' eyes and they'll finally realise [what we've known for ages] that the current Manager really isn't that good. They'll be advised by someone with Rovers' best interests at heart as to whom they should appoint to replace him. I can see us bumbling round Divison 2-really, like Pompey, Hull and the dingles, while the parachute payments come and go. I can't see us having any chance of returning to the Premier League until we appoint a young, bright manager who has proved himself at lower level as a Manager, such as Lee Clark at Huddersfield.
